A sun, drawn by Faythe

Apparently alot of bloggers went to Penang during that weekend. But Penang must be so big…cause none of us bump into each other despite the fact that some of us went to the same foodie place to fill our stomach :).

We were in Penang for some family gathering on my in laws side. We’ve not been to Penang for almost a year, since Mr. Hon is also back, so I took off 2 days to go Penang, but we only went 3 days, came back on Sunday…big mistake, should have come back on Monday, cause it was so jam!!

Took me 6.5 hours to reach PJ :(. Legs all aching, somemore I’m driving a manual car..yes ME, not Mr. Hon. He’s either dating with chau kung 80% of the time, or listening to his songs on iPod with his sound proof (dunno what expensive) earphone he bought from Japan till I had to shout and waive at him whenever I needed him to help check the kids etc. Occasionally, he’d asked if I’m OK or not. I prefer to drive, cause I can’t sleep in the car, and I have nothing to do as well, didn’t load my iPhone with movies whatsoever. I can’t read map either, so usually he’s the navigator, I’m the driver.

Anyway back to the trip:

DAY 1: 11TH JUN

Woo Kok is also a must.

We left at 630am on Friday, very early. Made our usual stop at Bidor for Herbal Duck Noodles. This trip, we drove 3 cars. SIL & MIL 1 car, our car & Lawrence family. Both of them enjoyed the noodles, especially Faythe.

That’s how much my breakfast cost :).

Jayden with his Ironman sign

Herbal Duck Noodles

Vyktore, looking a bit worried cause he has to eat noodles

My nephew nick named: Samson. He has curly locks, how cute.

Then we continued our drive to Penang, finally arrived at around 12pm, just in time for lunch. MIL brought us to eat somewhere, don’t know what Jalan lah…makan only. After that, went to Northam and helped MIL to check in since it was booked under Mr. Hon’s corporate rate. We didn’t stay at Northam cause Mr. Hon wanted to go to beach, so we stayed in Flamingo by the Beach Hotel together with Lawrence’s family.

Part of the hotel room. Quite spacious I’d say, with a nice view too. Only thing is bathroom is a bit small, no bath tub. Only shower.

View from the balcony…clean beach, phew…

Kids watching the fishy swimming

We got a pretty good deal online, RM190/night. Refurbished hotel, sure very spanking new lah..no musty smell :). So after check in and freshen up, we went to pick up MIL & SIL and drove to Bukit Tambun for seafood.

Bukit Tambun Fishing Village

I got pretty p!ssed off with Mr. Hon as he was giving directions in the car how to get to Bukit Tambun, but he never give warnings, all a sudden turn left, all a sudden U-turn, and we kept going wrong directions thanks to him. MIL knows the direction, but he insist to use the bloody GPS, which sometimes is slow to get signal, so by the time signal recover, it’s overshot…arghh…Also driving in Penang is not easy, the drivers there are 100 times worse than KL ppl.

After braving the storm & rain, we finally reached Bukit Tambun, with my face black like Hokkien Mee. Luckily, Mr. Hon quickly made up for it, if not I think he will be eating Hokkien Mee fried with Horse Shoe Crab at that restaurant courtesy of me.

Monkeying around while waiting for food to be served.

We had tea there, MIL ordered some steam mantis prawns, horse shoe crab and a few more dishes. First time Faythe eating steam mantis prawn, she sapu 3!! Vyktore didn’t eat, he wants rice, but we didn’t order, cause we have dinner at Nyonya Breeze later on.

Thanks Daddy for the shot :).

The restaurant which we were dining at is also next to a fishing village. The kids went up the boat and took some photos there. We also saw monitor lizard on the other side of the river bank.

Seriously, they look like some China people just successfully smuggled down to HK (back to those days)

After the tea break, we drove back to Penang again, this time thanks to the not so great GPS, we reached Northam avoiding traffic jam & drop MIL off. Then went back to our hotel to shower and change.

The night before, was actually Vyktore’s Birthday. I thought since we are going to Penang, might as well celebrate there. Hence I ordered a chocolate cake from Shervone. Thanks Siew Hooi for the contact :).

Shark Image cake

Vyktore wanted a Shark Cake. Hence I downloaded a shark picture and sent it to Shervone to get it done. He was so happy when he saw the cake. He said, “Mommy, I want to cut the shark’s tail and eat it” O.o.

I got Shervone to send the cake and asked reception to keep it, so when we check in I’ve already checked to make sure the cake is there.

One for the family. Everyone was busy trying to do something instead of looking at the camera LOL

So we left for dinner, heading to Nyonya Breeze, to meet up with SIL, MIL & MIL’s friend’s there. We celebrated Vyktore’s birthday there and he had 2 pieces of cake. He’s a cake lover, just like me :).

Nyonya Breeze is our usual stop whenever we go to Penang. Simply love the food there. My fav is the belacan fried with cashew nuts and pork/chicken. It’s so creamy!!! Really to die for.

After that, we all head back to our own hotel and went to the beach.

Mr. Hon brought home many kung ming lantern from Vietnam, so we brought 2 to Penang to let go. I know it’s illegal :P, but for the fun of it…why not. We are not near the airport anyway.

So we all went to the beach, light up the lantern and watch it float away. Daddy didn’t bring his cigars, so we didn’t have any e cigarette session by the beach..phew!!

Then we all head back to our own room to watch World Cup match and went to bed….

DAY 2: 12TH JUN

Someone para-sailing by the beach. Did this many years ago.

Had breakfast at the hotel…boy it’s so crowded!!!

Beautiful butterfly

Then hang around the beach till 1030am, then we went to butterfly farm with Lawrence’s family. MIL & SIL didn’t join us. Had fun in the butterfly farm especially Faythe. She went around trying to make the butterfly stand on her hand. The last time we went there, she was only 2years old, she barely remembers that trip. Vyktore didn’t really like it, he only liked the Scorpions which was in the pit.

Her few successful attempt getting the butterfly

We spent a good 2 hours in the farm and Mr. Hon declared, “This my last ever trip to butterfly farm, no more LOL”. We even bumped into his primary school friend. Talk about coincidence.

Vyktore’s favourite section

We were supposed to drive to Balik Pulau for some Durian & Food Fest (Lawrence saw advertisement banner along the road), so off we went, but half way, I think in Teluk Bahang (after passing the dam), we stopped by roadside where there were plenty of durian stalls and decided to just have our durian fiesta there.

After that all went back hotel to sleep. Evening, we went to grand auntie’s house where the family gathering was held. Everyone busy chit chatting till 10pm when finally all left after taking some family photos.

Faythe wanted to sleep with MIL, so Vyktore followed us back to our hotel.

DAY 3: 13TH JUN

Had breakfast in the hotel and sat by the pool for some couple talk while watching Vyktore eating his cereal.

Check out at 11am and went to grand aunt’s house for another round of chit chatting and makan. Grand aunt made fried oyster with eggs..yum yum…

We finally left Penang by 3pm and took us so long to finally reach home.

Mr. Pilot & lil Pilot LOL. MIL bought this lil pilot uniform for him. So cute hahaha…

We’ve learned that we can’t let both of them sit together cause they either keep on fighting with each other for toys, books, or whatever. So we came up with a brilliant plan.

I drive the car, and either 1 of them sit next to me. While Daddy sits at the back with the other 1. This way, they got less chance to interact and have their love-hate sessions in the car. So all the way back, either they were sleeping, snacking or occasionally playing games on my iphone. Very peaceful indeed :).

I was on leave still on 14th June, so we took the kids to KLCC (by LRT, another LRT ride) and watch Karate Kid there. TGV Cinema must be crazy…the aircond was freezing!!

That’s all for the trip, and some photos taken from the trip.

Like I was telling Agnes, I very envy her photos, cause I didn’t manage to do much in Penang. Makan je banyak LOL.

Faythe in the hotel, eating papadam (brought from KL) while watching Nat. Geo.

Vyktore getting comfy on the bed

Kids, trying to get them pose spells H3LL…

Naughty face

Another naughty face

the boat parked by the restaurant that allowed us to go up and take some photos

Vyktore, wanted his face to be painted with blue cream (like Avatar O.o)

My model posing for me with her killer pose.

Vyktore, so hot @ the beach he didn’t wanna take a walk.

Faythe, in her quest for more seashells

Vyktore with his pitiful look. He kept pestering me for water, in the end went to the bar to get some ice cold water for him.

Sweats..it’s realll hot!!!

Got a butterfly :)

Some don’t know what insect crawling from the sunnies. We nearly had to bring it home as it was hooking itself on his hand.

Lovely butterflies

I guess I’ll be heading for a break soon unless I manage to schedule some post up these few days. Busy 3 months ahead…

Jun 11

When I was young and still single, one of my favourite pastime was to clean my room and rearrange the room furniture LOL. Don’t ask me why haha..but I feel that by rearranging the furnitures, it gives a good feel, like something new. Maklum lah can’t afford to buy new furniture, but by just rearranging it will make me feel good too. You know it feels like getting a hairdo or changing hairstyle once a while. That’s how I feel.

So 2 weeks ago, since no photoshoot and weekend quite free, I thought I should do something to the abandoned room. Kids didn’t want to sleep here, so dusty (no thanks to my maid!!!), toys all over the place, books not arranged properly…the list is endless. Hence I started the furniture rearrangement project :).

Here’s how it looks like previously, something like this, but with more mess (just imagine OK).

With just the bed, it’s quite OK, but hubs wanted to have that big table there, which took up alot of space!! Then we even put a shelf (courtesy of Tesco) on the table (since no more space right). At the window, we stacked up the Ikea chest so that all can fit into 1 room LOL. At the side, there’s also Ikea chest and the kid’s clothes rack was there too (can’t see the clothes rack cause I hid it under the bed).

Very cramp and I didn’t like it, especially having the table there.

So after living with this for almost 1 year, here’s what I did 2 weeks ago:

  1. Moved the table out and went downstairs (since they are doing homework downstairs, might as well lah)
  2. Pasted the Little Mermaid wall border on 2 sides of the room. Wanted to do this so long ago, but Mr. Hon keep dilly dally, so I do lah. It was actually pretty easy!!
  3. Rearrange the bed to L shape to free some space
  4. Moved 1 Ikea chest downstairs, Kept 1 Ikea chest under the bed
  5. Got a new curtain. Since this room will be Faythe’s room eventually, and she likes purple. got her a purple curtain with bees on it.
  6. And a few more arrangement to move the furnitures all to the side to create more walking space
  7. Moved the clothes rack right to the end

The photos are with alot of mess cause I practically dumped all the toys & books at one side while moving all the furniture, then sort them accordingly, asked the maid to wash all the washable toys (and the chest!!).

Basically I created more walking space.

And here’s the finaly result:

After sitting there over the weekends and a few nights (also shouting at the kids not to enter the room), here’s the finished product, before the next wave of messiness comes :P.

  1. Rearrange all the books according to category: Scholastics 1 tier, Hardcover books 1 tier, workbooks 1 tier, boardbooks 1 tier, puzzle based books 1 tier. I also gave away some books of which they’ outgrew to Jayden.
  2. Sorted out all the toys: 3 chest for masak masak (1 for food, 1 for plates, 1 for rest of the cooking utensils, all cutleries in a box)
  3. All the cars went into 2 smaller boxes and 1 of the chest, together with some bigger cars that can’t fit into the small box
  4. All robots into 1 small box and 1 of the chest, together with some bigger robots that can’t fit into the small box
  5. They had plenty of uncategorised toys (like those from McD, KFC, loose ones bought fr here n there). All these into 1 chest. I also put them in small boxes based on category (Kungfu Panda 1 box, KFC 1 box, Monsters vs. Aliens 1 box)
  6. Barbie dolls and her accessories all in 1 chest
  7. Faythe’s girlie stuff 1 chest (hairbands, bracelets, fake lipsticks, mirrors, etc)
  8. Puzzles 2 chest. Sorted out all the puzzles and each of them either in their own box or in ziplock bag LOL
  9. Blocks 1 chest
  10. Stringing materials (Montessori) & blocks puzzle 1 chest
  11. Placed the radio on top of one of the chest at 1 corner

Notice that I hid 1 chest under the bed. I decided to keep all the stuffed toys there since they don’t really hug them but occasionally likes to play with it (pretend play). So that their bed is not cluttered.

The chest which I’ve moved downstairs, I kept all the painting, colouring materials there. So anything to do with art, writing, drawing, all downstairs. Room is strictly toys and sleeping.

Oh and what’s with the giant chair next to the book shelf?

I moved that chair from my room to theirs. Since it’s sitting at one corner look so pathetic LOL and we only use it when we need to massage our leg with the iSqueeze.

Why put there?

  1. In case I want to take nice photos of them I can ask them sit on the chair LOL (no lah that’s not my initial purpose, just thought of this haha)

Actually when I was pregnant, I always have a wish that someday, I can have a nice lil corner where I can sit down and read them books while putting them to sleep. I happen to see alot of angmo photos have something like this.

So to make my wish come true, I move the chair there, right next to the book shelf for easy access. So I can read the book to them while they are trying to fall asleep on their bed *dreaming still, since haven’t even start retraining them*.

I’ve also placed a standing lamp beside it, so I can actually off the main light and leave that on..muahahaha…

The turtle on the chair is actually a night lamp that projects stars to the ceiling. Redeemed this from Credit Card Points :).

Few more things to complete the summer project:

  1. Over the weekend, went to Ikea to buy a flower shape lamp, need Mr. Hon to mount it on the wall where Faythe’s bed is. Will put this at the edge just next to the chest so that she doesn’t accidentally get tangled with the wire while sleeping.
  2. Hang up the Safety Poster. Need Mr. Hon to drill also
  3. I also want to use one of the wall to put some pictures (their art work or photos), still thinking where’s the right place

Note: If you notice, there’s something hanging down from the main light at the ceiling, that’s a Hari Raya Deco LOL. Faythe told me that it looks like Princess Jasmine’s Castle and we bought it last year. She wanted to hang it there, like the castle over the cloud LOL. Memang alot ideas.

OK, so now gotta start retraining again, hope they’ll sleep in this room…gotta have new strategy, anyone can share with me kids sleeping strategy that you have successfully implemented? Hope they don’t need any sleep aid to get them to sleep in their room.

Jun 9

So the school holiday has started, and thank GOD that Mr. Hon is around to entertain them before they drive my MIL nuts. It’s really such coincidence that he’s around at the perfect timing. So he can be a good daddy coming 2 weeks ferrying them around, bring them movies, send them for classes, etc…he even cooked for them yesterday!!

picture of our red indian gang

Before the school ends, they had a party in the school, as usual. This year theme is Wild Wild West. At first thought of dressing Faythe up as Pocahontas, Vyktore as red indian boy, then MIL told me that she and SIL went to investigate and found very nice headgear for all the 4 kids (2 of mine, 2 of SIL’s), so they told me, might as well dress them up like red indian, and Faythe becomes the red indian chief’s daughter.

So OK lah, I let MIL kow tim everything. MIL did a great job, she bought the white t-shirt from daiso and tie-dyed all of them.

Then rented the headgears and bought some chains, necklaces, bracelets to go with it. MIL also bought axes for them to carry.

The night before the party, I left the kids to overnight at MIL’s place as she’s gonna be doing face painting for them in the morning.

So Mr. Hon & myself went to the school early morning to wait for them to arrive.

Vyktore keeps playing with his headgear and covering his mouth ^.^.

When I first saw them, as if it was like a groom seeing his bride the 1st time LOL…wow, so nice!!

Upon them entering the school, all the kids were looking at them, somemore all 4 dress the same hahaha…and our whole family was there!! Mr. Hon, MIL, SIL, myself & 2 maids.

After taking some photos of them, they went to their respective classes and sat down.

We hang around till 845am, when we finally left them to enjoy their party. I sent my car to service, which is just nearby.

My not so lil princess looking cool :).

Faythe was one of the best dressed that day and came home with goodies bag. She’s very happy of course :).

OMG…i thick skin a bit, but he look so *yau yeng* in this photo!! He actually wanted his face painted blue, like avatar O.o.

Vyktore came home with 2 necklace missing O.o….we kept the headgear before we left since he didn’t want to wear it, luckily we did, if not that would have been added into the missing list too.

Here are more photos of them.

Vyktore trying to adjust his headgear

Vyktore & class teacher, Sui Fun. He likes this teacher more compared to last year’s teacher :P.

Faythe and her classmates, Evan. The other boy not sure what’s the name.

that’s the look of red indian chief & the daughter LOL

There goes another great party.

Jun 3

a giant loaf of bread greeting us

I took half day off on Tuesday to accompany the kids to High 5 Bread Town, part of their school outing activity.

To be honest, I never want to miss any part of my kids life, watching them grow, from a baby till now simply amazes me. Although I’m a FTWM, I’m quite blessed to witness their many 1st in their life (not missing them). Also to admit, I’m kiasu lah LOL…want to take their photos mah

Vyktore looking bored in the class

And since Daddy is not around most of the time, I do feel that I have to play a part to document important events in their life so that when we are old, we can still remember what they did back those days.

Faythe, patiently waiting for the trip

We were all supposed to gather by 830am in the school. But after all the yakking, washing hands and what nots, finally at 9am, all the kids board the bus and hence begin our trip to Bread Town. Faythe was in Bus No. 7, Vyktore was in Bus No. 6. I followed Vyktore since he’s quite a handful, but to my surprise, he’s very good boy when he’s at school O.o. Mental note to myself, next year must follow Faythe.

Vyktore was pretty excited once we board the bus. I doubt he remembers us taking a bus last year to bird park. He’s pretty observant lately and ask alot questions along the way to the Bread Town.

Upon arrival, all 200 students and countless teachers & parents were crammed into the receiving area. Gosh, it was so stuffy and dark, some children started to get restless.

Kids getting restless waiting for the tour

We waited there for at least a good 30 mins, before the principal came and requested some of the older kids to go out to start the tour first, while the rest of the children sat there and wait. I’m glad that both Faythe’s class also stayed on together with Vyktore’s, so I could take some photos of Faythe as well.

I love his expression LOL. As though he stole the bread :P

Each of them were given Sausage Roll (new product of High 5?) as tea break while sitting impatiently for their turn. Vyktore only eat the bread. So I gave his sausage to Faythe, the sausage lover :).

Then suddenly, Vyktore said, “Mommy, I want pangsai (big biz)”. Oh no…

So I brought him to the toilet behind, but it was all squat toilet, he was so afraid he’d fall into the toilet bowl (though I was holding him), he decided to hold on to his bowels. Poor fella.

Preparing for a class photo. Look at Vyktore ^.^ (hide my face)

Wait punya wait, I think after another 30mins, we finally moved out from that receiving room and went into another side of the Bread Town, where there’s a huge fake bread and all the classes stopped there to take group photos.

This is Faythe’s class, notice her tilted head LOL.

Then the kids were being seated in a mini theatre and they put on a mini video clip about bread & it’s history.

Oh..this cheeky boy again!!

After the history session, the tour guide finally tell us that we are not moving into the Bread Town. 3 things you can’t do while you are there:

  1. No Food
  2. No Drinks
  3. No Photos

No. 3 was a bit potong steam for me LOL. But it’s a private company and their policy, so have to observe lah, if not next time you’ll see my face in the factory black list :P.

Touching the fake roti

The tour starts with some statues of people preparing bread, etc…all those that they show in the mini video clip, they made it real life!!

We also had a chance to have a look at the many types of toaster, slicer, dough kneading machine and what have you.

Then comes the hot & interesting part.

We were showed how bread are made. There’s a glass tunnel where we walk thru. On the left & right we can see the workers & all the machines. Seriously, it’s pretty much all machine made. The workers there are just doing QC.

It’s an eye opener for me!! Vyktore was amazed as well, looking at all those giant machines.

Before I forget, this whole trip is so hot!! It’s like we are in the oven itself getting baked LOL.

So after the whole bread cerita (took about 30mins) , we came out to the souvenir shop, where you can buy High 5 products for a cheaper price. Luckily I didn’t buy, cause each of us were given goody bag (I brought home 3!!) consisting of: 1 loaf of bread, 2 cream buns, 2 mini cupcakes & 2 slices of fruitcake. So much so for my ab workouts, all this roti gonna kill it!!

On our way home, Vyktore ate the corn cream bun. He’s a roti lover, he can even it ‘em plain!!

Time to go home, all so tired and stuck in the jam pulak. I almost fell asleep in the bus, but Vyktore keep on disturbing me..sheesh….

I guess it’s an enjoyable trip for them, as well as for myself. But I do feel that alot of time is wasted sitting around doing nothing. I seriously think that this school they should split their school trip. There are just too many students and it’s not easy to do all those co-ordination.

May 24

I bought some DIY popcorn from Jaya Grocer recently. Faythe has been bugging me to cook it but since we didn’t have any DVD session at home, I waited for sometime.

Few weeks ago, we were supposed to go for Ironman 2, but we were late to arrive at the cinema, hence the ticket were released out. The kids were rather sad that they couldn’t catch Ironman 2 on action that week.

So after that we went home and I continue to catch up with my TVB series. But to make up for it, I decided to microwave the popcorn. Actually one of the reason they like to go cinema it’s because of the popcorn.

It’s pretty easy, just throw the whole packet into the microwave oven, set it for 5 minutes and there you go. Within 3 minutes, you’ll hear it popping in the microwave oven.

Faythe & Vyktore were really anxious and excited hearing the popping sound.

Once done, I just open the bag slightly to let the heat out and it’s ready to eat.

This is a salted version and we all love it.

Nevermind that we didn’t have home theatre seating at home, we still enjoyed the popcorn and my TVB Series as though we were watching movie in the cinema.

Interested to get yours? Go get a pack today :). There are 3 packs in a box, if I recall correctly, it cost around RM10. Cheaper than cinema :).

May 18

they are absolute darlings when they are not fighting…

Recently, my personal life have been quite fulfilling as we have slow down shooting to the extend of only having 2 shoots this whole month. Fulfilling as in I get to walk my life more laid back and spend more time with my kids. I also need not rush photos for customers. No pile up of photos to be edited. I even had time to sort out my photos of last year!! Keng!! I’ve also resort not to turn on my laptop when I’m at home, just use iphone to limit my time spent on the computer. Basically, I’m enjoying myself :).

So what we did over the weekend?

Vyktore’s all time favourite stunt at home…joined by Faythe

Friday night, we went for movies: Furry Vengence. Introduced by my colleague, it’s a movie worth watching if you need some laughter to breakaway from office stress. More worth watching this than watching Malaysia got thrashed in Thomas Cup :P. Both of them enjoyed the movie and laughed so loud!! Nowadays, I usually bring them out myself or with my brother since they are old enough and easier to control. Don’t need to bring my black-face maid along.

doing her Chinese homework, sometimes can take up to 1 hour O.o.

On Saturday, I went to wet market late. After that went lunch with both of them behind the house. Then we spent our saturday noon finishing up their homework. After homework session, had the chance to play with my camera and took some photos of them.

Then we made jellies before we proceed to our art and craft project.

I’ve been procrastinating to start our craft project but at last we completed our mini crafted aquarium. No photo as we still have the frame not completed yet. Faythe was the big contributor to the aquarium. Vyktore was only drawing the eyes n mouth of the sea creatures and requesting for all sorts of creatures to be featured in our aquarium.

After that I drop Faythe off to art class and slave myself in the kitchen for 2 hours. Our dinner menu:

  1. Fried chicken fingers
  2. Honey baked chicken wings
  3. Friend noodles

My 1st time successfully fried noodles. Faythe was the biggest supporter.

When it comes to fried noodles, tell you the truth I’m a total failure. For as long as I’ve lived, I have never once successfully fried edible noodles. It’s either it’s too much noodles & lack of ingredients or vice versa. But last weekend for once it’s just nice. I goreng until my hand also pain.

2nd time frying these. A hit for Vyktore. I knew he won’t *hiu* my fried noodles, hence I made these for him. He finished close to half of this plate.

We had jellies for dessert :).

On Sunday, I sent Faythe for art class again in the morning. I’ve signed her up for lifetime member, so she gets to go to class as often as she wants without additional fee hehe…

They wanted KFC for lunch, so when I fetch her we packed KFC home as well.

Sunday was more lazy, watched some TV after lunch. As for dinner, we had:

  1. Lotus Root Soup
  2. Honey baked chicken wings - again
  3. Fried rice

This the honey baked chicken. It’s a bit burnt at the tip and the alu foil cause my maid supposed to help me watch the api and glaze the chicken don’t know doing what and went missing halfway thru. Nevertheless it’s tasty!!

That was how we have our weekend. How was yours?

Here are more photos of the 2 of them taken over the weekend.

Erasing her homework

Whilst busy at work, sometimes she’d post for me as well.

Another pose from my willing model

After completed homework, Vyktore came by and show us his feet :P

Photo session turned violent LOL

Vyktore, posing for me rarely. He’s very impatient when it comes to taking photos, not easy nowadays.

2 of them again. I heart this ;).

See my poser LOL. I don’t know where she learned to pose like this, but if you notice this whole post the photos she’s been tilting her head. Does your 5yo does that too?

Have a nice week ahead…

May 14

L-R: Vyktore, Jayden & Faythe posing for a photo. Each of them holding a Ironman Figurine.

Yet another travel post…gosh, when am I gonna finish with my travel post O.o. I think there’s like 3 more backdated travel post I’m gonna put.

So we finally made a trip to Bukit Tinggi, 1st time in my life, after seeing so many nice photos, many nice brochures, nice websites and what have you.

Reason is, Mr. Hon wants to take his bike for a ride and the only way he can do this is going for short trips. And while he rides, I will take our 4 wheels together with the kids & the GPS (in case we are lost). As usual, he don’t ride alone, his riding buddy came along. Since Lawrence & Jayden has nothing to do at home (Angie went for training), so they came along as well.

Our breakfast….

But it’s a 1 day trip OK…no staying over night. We left KL around 830am and started heading towards the highway. Stopped over at Petronas by the highway for petrol & had McD for breakfast.

Daddy mentioned that we should go to waterfall on our way back. Vyktore, 1st time hearing waterfall, thinks it’s very syiok, so he said, “Mommy, I wah go waterfall”. OK…I bet he’d scream when he sees waterfall later LOL.

So we continued our journey after our breakfast and soon arrived at Bukit Tinggi.

1st stop, Rabbit Farm. I recall that we arrived before 10am, hence it was still not open. We were the 1st there.

The cranes that looked like statues to Vyktore :P

So while waiting for it to open, we chanced upon some cranes (I think) that was sitting on the grass over at the other side. Vyktore loves bird, he was so amazed at them. Then suddenly one of them started walking. Guess what Vyktore said….”Mommy, the bird can move…” LOL, sure can lah. They must have looked like statues to him earlier haha…funny boy. He even requested for some photos of him and the birds.

Vyktore taking photos with the cranes.

When the Rabbit Farm opens, we went in. Faythe was all excited when she was able to touch the rabbits. But Vyktore was screaming and refused to come along at first. But after convincing him, he finally came and join the fun. After patting the rabbit, he started to get comfortable and they all had great fun *torturing* the rabbit. Jayden at 1 stage was practically pulling the rabbit’s ears and lifting it up LOL. We were warned by the rabbit keeper to keep an eye on the 3 kids haha…memang pai seh.

Examining the donkey. Vyktore was scared of it.

After the rabbit farm, we went to see the donkeys…which looks so much like ponies. Faythe agreed to ride the donkey as that remembers her of Mulan. But Vyktore refused. Hence only Faythe rode the donkey and we took some photos, but towards the end, Vyktore wanted to get a feel of the donkey as well, so he sat at the back of Faythe.

Oh so crowded French Village!!

Done with the rabbit farm, we head to the French Village. Actually I was pretty excited about the French Village as there would be alot opportunity to take photos. But Daddy was in such a hurry, we just scrambled at the French Village like 10minutes, then went down to see the black swans, fed them with cornflakes *oops* and left the place. Yup, that’s how fast we finish that entire place. Arghhh…I hate it when I have to rush around like this…next time I datang myself and cam* kow kow…

Why he’s in a rush leh?

Well, he was in Bentong few days ago and went to eat this Ikan masak Tempoyak. So he wanted to go there to eat again and he was worried that the shop will be closed when we reach there. Grrr…

Japanese Garden mini waterfall. Jayden trying to open his shirt :P.

So after French Village, we headed off to Japanese Garden, to look see look see and enjoy the greens. Boy, I really wonder if there’s really no where else to go in KL…Bukit Tinggi is so crowded!!! And it’s not even a long weekend…WTF!!

After Japanese Garden, we head to Bentong to eat Ikan masak Tempoyak. It’s about an hour drive from Bukit Tinggi..and I really hated that lunch.

Kids KO-ed in the car as they were so tired walking up the hill LOL. So we actually left them in the car  (with the window open and within our view of course) while we had lunch except for Faythe that woke up and got down with us.

Yucks..I really can’t accept Durian in other forms…seriously, it tasted disgusting. No offence to those that love it, but I really beh tahan…not only me, even Lawrence & Yuen didn’t fancy that. So Daddy ate up the whole plate of Tempoyak Fish!! While we went crazy eating the stuffed green chilli with fish paste and don’t know what and some other dishes.

Faythe enjoying her chocolate ice-cream

Then Seng Yuen told us that his hometown was actually Bentong, so he brought us to this shop to eat have some homemade ice cream..yum yum…

Jayden was still sleeping in the car when we arrived at the ice cream stall, so we brought the ice cream for Lawrence to eat while he babysits Jayden.

Vyktore nose-bleeding with Chocolate Ice Cream LOL…

We all each had our share of ice cream and ice kacang with ice cream. Both the kids had Chocolate Flavour, while I had Jagung Flavour. Daddy had Ice Kacang with Ice Cream as topping. Delicious!!

We left Bentong close to 2pm and started to head home, but we stopped on the way at Hutan Lipur Lintang to go to waterfall.

Walking towards the waterfall

I tell you, Vyktore been pestering me since 9am till 3pm that he wants to go waterfall. But when we arrived and he saw what waterfall was, he refused to go join the fun LOL. Yeah, this his 2nd time experiencing waterfall. 1st time was like 2 yrs ago, I doubt he remembered.

Faythe building sand castle next at the waterfall.

Faythe couldn’t wait but just dive in together with Daddy. She’s been taking up swimming lessons for sometime, hence she’s very into swimming now.

Look at his ker lien face LOL

Vyktore refused to go in and even after I tricked him into putting his feet into the sand, he just wanted to sit on the rock and stare at all of us LOL. So I end up sitting next to him most of the time, and occasionally trying to coax him to come with me to another side of the waterfall where it’s very shallow and the current is slow.

Nope, MCA didn’t cheng us dinner, but so happened Daddy park his bike there.

We spent a good 1 hour at least at the waterfall, then we went to Bukit Tinggi Village to have very early dinner, at 530pm!!

On our way home, we were hit by the rain..poor Daddy, all drenched by the time he reached MIL’s house LOL.

Some photos taken for this trip. Plenty of photos ahead :P. Definitely didn’t enjoy the “rush-ness” of this trip.

May 10

It is very often, that even myself, forget that I’m a Mother and entitled for something during Mother’s Day. I always teringat have to get something for my MIL (since my mom no longer around), but forgotten that I should be entitled to celebrate this day as well. And knowing my other half very well, he treats me as a wife more than a mother to his 2 kids, hence I didn’t get any gift from him *ahem*.

Anyway, we celebrated (MIL, SIL & myself) our Mother’s Day in style, with 3 of us went for brunch/lunch at Oriental Pavilion @ Jaya 33 yesterday. We belanja MIL lah of course. But same time belanja myself. Maybe I should claim back from Mr. Hon later kekeke…

Some of the food we ordered (sorry no photo, too busy entertaining the kids since I’ve *cold storage* my maid at home):

  1. Sharks fin in shark bone soup
  2. Cod fish served on pomelo sauce
  3. Stew pig’s ears & tongue (MIL’s fav)
  4. Roast pork (not suckling pig eh)
  5. Stir fried ching-loong choy (don’t know what you call in English, but the veg is yummy)
  6. Some dim sum for the kids
  7. Peanut ball with sesame filling (for dessert)

We spent about 2 hours enjoying our food. With such good food, I wonder how my diets for quick weight loss plan is gonna be achievable.

Then went shopping at Ace Hardware (cause we wanted to get free jockey parking :P).

I also ordered a bunch of carnations hand bouquet for MIL, when we arrived at her place after our brunch, it has arrived.

I also sent another bouquet to another Mommy, whom is my dearest friend’s Mommy.

But lets travel back to Friday night, after work, I was greeted with these lovely art by my kids.

Nothing beats gifts from them seriously…

left & middle: a card done on Sunday in her art class. Front & inside. You see on the right, between the rose and the heart shape, there’s a packet of orange stuff with some white seeds. That’s barley pumpkin LOL. I’ve been boiling that over a few weekends and she loves it.
right: the flower was done from the Kindy. Notice one petal missing, don’t know where it went :P.

left: front of the card done in Kindy. I had a good laugh when I saw this. Cause Vyktore has 8 fingers LOL.
right: inside of the card. This card doesn’t really tell the truth, cause he don’t really cook whatever I eat, apart from fried rice :P

So that was how I celebrated my Mother’s Day.

Last friday, SIL sms-ed to inform me that Faythe’s classmate been contracted with H1N1. But school at that time didn’t take any actions. I checked with SIL (also a paed) what we should do. She advise that we should give the kids flu jab, just in case.

Today I sent them to school as usual, at 10am, I received a call from the principal. Usually when I get a call from school, I sort of panic. Cause I’m worried something bad happened to them. Maybe they fainted in school O.o. Maybe they had nose bleed (which they often do) & it went out of control. Then the principle told me that they need to quarantine her class, so I need to pick her up.

Good thing I didn’t have any meetings on this morning, so I went to pick her up. Teacher gave her tonnes of homework to make sure she’s occupied O.o.

2 hours later, MIL sms-ed me, Vyktore is also under quarantine, since he has close contact with Faythe. Yikes!!! Do I have to quarantine myself too? I checked with my HR mgr, not necessary, since we don’t have any fever.

They are both fine, in fact I think they are happy they don’t need to go to school, especially Vyktore. Vyktore has a bit of runny nose, but that’s more like dust allergy more than anything.

Time to boost everyone’s immune system with more Vit C.

I’m still busy tidying up my photos from Borobodur. Looking back at all those photos, sometimes makes me wonder how capable human are. Even before Christ (B.C.), they could build such mega structure. Isn’t it amazing. When I was there, I touch and feel the stones & carvings on it. I could feel the history in me. Well, I’m very much of a history freak. My ambition was to be an archaelogist!! *Don’t laugh OK*.

Can’t live my life to be an archaeologist, but visit to such place really brings back good old history memory :).

Here’s a photo taken from the top of Borobodur. The view, simply breathtaking. That lil triangle hanging in the sky is Gunung Merapi, life volcano. Not a photoshop add-on-mountain ya (in case you wondering :P).

I spent like 3 hours trekking this whole place till the driver got worried and kept SMS-ing me where am I. Seriously, I mean, it’s a historical site OK…you sure gotta spend some time here. And with so much of trekking, I doubt I need to get myself a nordictrack audiostrider 990 pro to keep me going.

I’m really glad that despite hubby & me are not very hardworking in nurturing reading with my kids, they love reading a lot. Due to this, I promise to myself that no matter how late it is, and how tired it is, we always have story time every night. 1 book each. Of course, I spend alot money as well, purchasing Scholastics Books for them, which they love it very much. Their school has Scholastic School Program where books are real cheap, and the stories are very enjoyable too :). Sometimes when they are bored, they will dig out all the books and read themselves. Without me asking them to do so.

Sometimes they keep reading the same book till I can even memorise every page O.o. And they can narrate the story themselves too haha…that shows how much they love the book.

she looks like a teacher here don’t she :)

One day I overheard Faythe reading to Vyktore..their nursery rhymes book. It’s really heartwarming when I heard this, hence I sneak over and took some pics of them. And they didn’t bother bout me. I always love moments like this. It makes me feel as though all my hardwork has finally paid off. They love each other, teach each other. And they are not fighting over the same book LOL. Yes, sometimes they do fight to read the same book O.o.

Indeed I’m very proud of Faythe as a sister. Whenever Vyktore does his homework reluctantly. She’d volunteer to sit beside him and try to teach him, which I always tell her not to. Then she will use a blank paper and draw up boxes and pretend to do homework together with him so that he finishes his. She’s so loving and the way she encourages Vyktore is really amazing.
