*2 people world* weekend
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Faythe | icon4 02 28th, 2006| icon313 Comments »

It’s a weekend again, without Daddy (he’s coming back this Friday)…but not only that, it was a weekend without maid too, cause MIL is moving house so she borrowed all the maids (mine & SIL) to help her speed up the process. So with the *2 people world* weekend ahead, I have planned some itinery for myself and Faythe so that we don’t grow spiderweb at home hehehe…..so here’s what happen:

Friday
Mommy work from home today cause has to get some personal things sorted out…ended up screwing the mechanics at Proton Service Center. Well I won’t let this screw up my entire weekend, so heck. I’ll pay the extra and get better service.

Went for MMR jab in the evening, whoaa…she cried so loud and even scolded the paed!!! (with her spanish language)…poor girl. She has gain a little again. Now she’s at 9kg.

Anyway, we went to Curve for dinner @ Sakae Sushi. Been eyeing on this for a longg time…and because of alot of reasons (dinner partner not free, Daddy is around), so haven’t got a chance to eat that. Finally manage to go there hahaa…we were amazed that they were having some line dance performance at the BHP demo petrol kiosk.

Faythe as usual is amazed lah…..even attempt to walk and join those jokers dancing!!!

It was also her first time seeing water fountain…just outside Sakae Sushi…attempted to play with the water, but the line dancing kept her to busy…she’s just so happy toddling around. After she has got her satisfaction walking around, we started our dinner @ Sakae with Frank (my dinner pal)

Ordered chawanmushi for Faythe, she finished the whole mini bowl of it…she ate my corn sushi as well…and a bit of the rice from my beef rice set…After that pat her tummy, showing pau pau…hahaha…of course pau lahh, eat so much…Then we walked to Harvey Norman to survey on slow cooker & Oven…gonna invest in one of that, Mommy’s buying list hehehe…..After that we went home and had a fashion show for Faythe (will blog bout that in separate post). It’s about 1030pm, lets call it a day and head to *zhau kung* land……zzzZZZzzzz…..
Saturday
As usual, we went to market early morning. Had to finish off a lot of stuff before dropping maid off to MIL’s place. Faythe was pretty tired by noon, so took a nap from 130 till 330pm. Then woke up for her lunch. We had visitors…..Shannon, Angie and lil’ Sara came over to visit us. Evelyn suppose to come, but FFK us…..Sara and Faythe I could say is the closest among all the toddlers we’ve met. They are just 7 days apart, Sara born in US, Faythe in KL. Both of them has got same height, weights the same too..hehehe..but we see both of them as one meaty, one skinny…probably Faythe weighs more in bone-mass.

Anyway, they had a fun session, sharing toys…looking at each other…just so cute. Shall arrange more of such session. Next round will be over @ their place, in the pool hahaha…..

Dinner time, again we have companion, Frank & William drop by and pick us up. Headed to 1u with intention to try out Kluang Kopitiam and evaluate their food for some reasons (not to review). Well, roti bakar doesn’t taste as good as the one behind our house. I had nasi lemak, OK only..not sure why there was such a big crowd. Laksa seems that better than Uncle Lim. I’m a non-Uncle Lim supporter hahaha…..

Then we went Jusco to get my slow cooker, thanks to the RM50 voucher I got from the office dinner, only paid RM99 for the 5litre slow cooker…Yahooooo……strike off one of the item in my buying list. *Mommy big grin*. Head home and went to bed early for Faythe.

Sunday

Suppose to help MIL direct the workers in the morning for moving. So we woke up about 830am. Faythe had her milk, then we changed and went for Mommy’s breakfast. I had dimsum, with Faythe sharing some of the food. She was such a darling, sitting still and looking around while I had my breakfast. By the time we finish it was 930pm, head to MIL’s apt. Was there till 1pm, then went home.

Faythe was tired, but didn’t want to sleep. So decide not to force her. I finally get to watch Harry Porter on DVD, while she toddling around and fiddle with things…she attempted to put her shoe into the camera casing hhaha….in the end she couldn’t tahan anymore, so I took her upstairs (pause my Harry Porter) and put her to sleep. I too nap for a while. Both woke up at 530pm. And time to get ready for another round of dinner….. Dinner was with a bunch of colleagues, they *cheng* Mommy as belated birthday makan hehehe…we decided to go for Ms. Read, as review was good and American Chillis was banned by Adwin :P.

So strap her in car seat and off we drove to 1u. Was so lucky, we manage to get parking within 5mins. I didn’t take the stroller, a bit too much to handle. So I just put on shoes for her and let her walk around.

Reached the restaurant @ 7pm+, Adwin wasn’t here, the rest was here and looking at the menu. Not a lot of us, 5 adults + 1 baby. Faythe was pretty well behaved too…play by herself (with whatever I gave to her), smile and took some photos and entertain the rest of the gang.

We waited for quite a while for Adwin to arrive, so we ordered drinks first. We had strawberry smoothies…Faythe just love it, finished up half the glass *Mommy grinning at her liao*. While waiting for Adwin, of course we starting snapping photos. We are a bunch of camera craze jokers. Philip owning a DSLR (but didn’t bring that day). Adeline with her digicam (she took some great photos over @ Leo Ku’s concert the nite before). And of course Mommy with her old and yet reliable camera :).

Ahh…finally Adwin arrived, so we all ordered our food. Lucky thing we didn’t have to wait too long for the food to arrive. I would say everyone was pretty satisfied with their food. We ordered 2 desserts to share…..

Lemon Meringue Pie - ewww…so so sour…..even Faythe can’t tahan hahaha…
Blackforrest Choco Cake - wow, damn nice lerr, it’s served in a glass!!! Faythe ate some of the chocolate too…

We left the place around 9pm+…all so satisfied after the big feast. Thumbs up for Ms. Read, shall go again hehe…Faythe was tired, doze off when after we reached home and changed her.

So that was the weekend without maid….and who says Mommy can’t handle Faythe alone :P…with a lil’ help from friends, I’m sure it’s an easy task. Tired but enjoyed.

Note: notice the time, it’s 2am in morning!!! I woke up from my slumber, check my sms and holy cow!!! 30cents petrol increase…now is that a good reason to work from home more often!!

Daddy flew off last Friday to Zuhai for his Airbus Simulator Training…he will be there for 2 weeks, tentatively to return next Friday.
Part I: Girl miss DaddyWhen Faythe reached home in evening, Mommy asked, “where’s Daddy?”…Seeing Daddy’s car @ home assured her that he’s upstairs…but when we went upstairs, Daddy wasn’t in his room….so I told her, Daddy working lahh…On Sunday, I was msn-ing with Daddy…so he asked me how is Faythe..like that lorr, walking around kacau Mommy lorr..Then Faythe came next to me and attempt to climb up and sit with me on the chair. I carried her up and shower her the monitor…see Daddy (msn pic)…wahh….she smiled..then I told her, “sayang Daddy”…she actually went to kiss the MONITOR!!! And she did that a few times when I say “sayang Daddy”….wahh..must be miss him lah, she never does that before. Then she saw Daddy’s passport size photo on my study table, she took it and kiss the photo too….I told Daddy about this, but he doesn’t believe…haiyaa…..no photos to proof to you wohh…When she went to our bedroom, there was another passport size photo of Daddy on the bedside drawer..she took it and wouldn’t let go…and kiss it a few times..

Part II: Daddy miss Girl

This morning Daddy called at 8am (when I just woke up)….eh why never answer my calls..huh..last nite ahh…sleep liao lahh…so tired, this whole week I sleep @ 10+…ooh ok…..where’s Faythe? Drinking milk on her bed lorr..

Mommy: In MIL’s house lorr…i WFHome today, but send her there cause need to service car and get some stuff done for roadtax…..
Daddy: ooh..eh got her photo ah…

This is the first time he ask for Faythe’s photo…he never does that when he’s overseas…padan muka lorr..that day ask him to keep the passport photo i purposely develop for him he say bulky…hahaha…..well, at least he has no objection of me loading Faythe’s photo all over the websphere hehehe…in fact, he even show the blog and the photo site to his friends…

OK lah, since Anak miss Daddy, Daddy oso miss Anak…i shall be the good Mommy and post anak’s photo here :P

End of dinners…..
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Work | icon4 02 21st, 2006| icon321 Comments »

I am finally back to my normal night life. Yes, normal night life as in the routine after work, pick Faythe, go home, cook, dinner, shower, put Faythe to sleep, blog hopping and blogging…..Since last Friday, after Daddy went off to China, my nights was like party and dinner every night (except weekends), gosh so exhausted.

Our department had 2006 kick-off dinner and I’m one of the committee. And because of our operations (24×7), we always have to do things twice to accomodate everyone in each shift. It sounds kinda weird, like a double dinner, double prizes, double speeches…everything gotta times 2. SO it’s double work for us too!!! And to cater for 500+ people it’s never easy.
Planning started right before the Christmas break, surveying for the place which can accomodate at least 250 per session, getting door gifts, we even selected a theme hahha…cultural nightSo we had it last Friday (first session) and Monday (second session)…both was just as fun, with lots of things to laugh about..
For ice breaker, we made everyone participate in human bingo…it’s a game where you try to find a person which matches 10 criterias in a piece of paper which we distribute. The winner (finder & findee), we give them some prizes, when there’s a tie breaker, we throw in more questions…pretty fun and you break alot of ice.

Then we made the management to sing for us…..of course with participation from the audience.

After that we had paper folding dance…..the concept works same as musical chair, except that the paper gets smaller…..in the end, there was a tie too…so we made them dance around the tree (hindustan style) and the pair with the loudest cheer, announced as winners.

Next of course the best dress nomination. Alot of the well dressed girls were pretty shy, so we practically had to drag them up the stage…Guys were more spontaneous. We made them do catwalk base on the clothes they wore.

After that, we had another round of games…human Mummy…each table is given 3-4 rolls of toilet paper. They are suppose to wrap a cultural Mummy within 15-20mins. Then bring their Mummy on stage and we all judge base on creativity and relativity to the theme. We can see alot of funny ideas, some looks like a bear, some looks like statue of liberty…

At the end of the day, everyone enjoyed..of course not forgetting we had 2 rounds of lucky draw..of which one of the night, I won myself RM50 voucher from Jusco…..now I got a good reason to buy the slow cooker I’ve been eyeing on hehee……

Management was very happy, our delivery manager even thank all of us and mentioned, good work…wah wah…now where’s my e-awards point :P. I’ll talk about what’s e-awards in another posting.

After the 2 nights dinner…was pretty exhausted. Reach home at 11pm+, had to put Faythe sleep over at MIL’s house. Then tonite again another dinner (last one for the month…phewwwwww)…this is for MCA, representing Daddy since he’s not here. Luckily it was a short one…

Am I glad to say that it’s the end of dinners……over eating is just not healthy!!! I hope I don’t weigh another extra 5kg during the next checkup, or else gynae gonna use rotan and chase me liao.

Of late, Faythe has been showing her feminine side. In fact she has become the family’s vein pot. Below are some photos & what happened over the week.

Last Saturday

We were getting ready to go out for lunch @ Decanter, Mommy all dressed, Faythe all dressed (with nicely tied coconut hairstyle) and Daddy bathing

Faythe: *Points at the make up table*
Mommy: Hair comb already lahh..
Faythe: *still pointing at the make up table*
Mommy: *give up, grab 3 pins for her and let her hold it. I put one of it on the coconut hair*
Faythe: *holding the pins tightly and walking around*
Mommy: Faythe, come give Mommy those pins, you already have that!!!Daddy came out of shower and sat on the bedside
Faythe: *showed Daddy the remaining 2 pins*
Mommy: huh…she wanna tie somemore kahhh…
Daddy: kekeke…come come, Daddy do for you *he clips Faythe’s hair, one on each side*
Mommy: *rolling on bed laughing*…alien hair hahaha
Daddy: *also laughing*
Faythe: *she looks so happy and contended!!!* (pic1)
Mommy: Faythe go mirror see *mei mei (Pretty)* or not
Faythe: walks to the mirror and smile (pic2)
Mommy & Daddy: *shake head while laughing*

Monday
Faythe was wearing a long sleeve floral print top and jeans

Mommy: wah…Faythe so pretty huh…*carrying her in my arms*
Faythe: *points to the flower on her dress*.
Mommy: waiyoo, why my girl so pandai posing somemore!!

After shower, while putting on pyjamas

Mommy: comb hair Faythe
Faythe: *points to the dressing table*
Mommy: OK, u sit down, Mommy get your comb
Faythe: takes the comb from me and pretend to comb her hair
Mommy: OK lah, enough…come give Mommy the comb back
Faythe: *pass the comb back to me, then walk to the dressing table and points again!!*
Mommy: U want to clip ah?
Faythe: *show signs of agree with her OK look*
Mommy: alamak…mau tidur also wanna clip!!. *give up, I just clip the hair so that she’s happy*
Faythe: *walks away happily towards the mirror. stop there then smile*
Mommy: sayang Faythe…
Faythe: *puts her cheek right next to the mirror as though sayang herself*
Mommy: kakakaka…..

I told Daddy about this when he came out from shower, he just laughed when he saw Faythe sayang herself

Tuesday (this is ultimate vain!!!)
After shower, as usual putting on pyjamas, she’s struggling

Mommy: comb comb, where’s the comb
Faythe: *stopped struggling and points to dressing table*
Mommy: OK, sit down, Mommy get for you
Faythe: *took the comb, and got down from the bed!!!*
Mommy: Now where is that woman going
Faythe: *Walk to the mirror, stop there and pretend comb hair*
Mommy: *haiyoooooo…she must have learned this from me every morning!!!* giggles…girl, u so hiau lahhh…sayang Faythe
Faythe: *again puts her cheek next to mirror to show sayang herself. walks back to Mommy and pass me the comb*
Mommy: *combs her hair properly* OK done
Faythe: *points at the dressing table*
Mommy: oo..clip ah..*went to take clip, and clips on her head*
Faythe: *walks off happily and start roaming around*I think soon she will be digging her wardrobe and telling me what she wants to wear :)

The conversation
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Jazzmint | icon4 02 14th, 2006| icon320 Comments »
Upon finding out the baby’s gender, I gave a call to Sifu, a very close friend of mine. He is tasked to give name for baby. When I was pregnant with Faythe, Sifu gave us 5 names, carefully selected from the dunno what book, with all the calculations (I’m not chinese ed, so we gotta rely on someone). Though his occupation is not *Loh Tit Pat* or such, but he has very good knowledge of giving names. His friends whom asked him for names, went to Loh Tit Pat to verify, and he actually concluded that the name given by Sifu is the best. So we all have faith in him :). And as a personal friend of his, I know if he’s given this task, he will make sure he comes out with the best options, a perfectionist I would say. This time round, it remains the same, he will be giving us names to select for the newborn. Hopefully more than 1 name lah. Understand the difficulty in it, especially we have a unique surname like HON.

Below is the conversation we had in MSN, which will also reveal the gender :). Happy reading huh…

1st vs 2nd
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Motherhood | icon4 02 14th, 2006| icon321 Comments »

I’m into 21 weeks of pregnancy, gender?? After this post you guess and see hoh…alot of people tell me this:

*if your pregnancy is different from first one, chances are u expecting diff gender…hmmm…*
*if your first one looks like a boy, ur 2nd one will be a boy….wahhhhh…..like that also can…*
*if your shape is round is girl, if pointy is boy…ehh…the shape like change every day one geh..so boy or girl huh?*

OK, so let me write down what are the similarity/differences within the 2 pregnancy, maybe those 3 statements above is correct :)

Food Cravings
1st Pregnancy - loves soup in first trimester, then moves to hokkien mee. Other than that nothing special
2nd Pregnancy - loves cheesy food in first trimester, now prefers spicy food (but trying to avoid cause colleague told me eat a lot spicy food, baby’s skin not nice)

Tummy Size
1st Pregnancy - I can’t recall how big is it at 21 weeks, but the measurement was 35 inches….but I personally feel it was huge
1nd Pregnancy - I just measured, wah it’s 35 inches oso lehh…but hey I started off at diff point, meaning it didn’t grew as much as it did compared to 1st pregnancy so far..Personally I feel that it’s smaller, I can still fit into M size T-shirt…but dunno why some people comment I’m huge *bleah*

Sleep Habit
1st Pregnancy - seldom nap in afternoon, sleeps well @ night, sleeps early
2nd Pregnancy - loves to nap especially when put Faythe to sleep, sleeps well @ night as well, sleeps late

Hair
1st Pregnancy - lots of white hair…but hair looks thicker and healthier
2nd Pregnancy - not that I spot a lot white hair so far, or maybe no time to dig hahaha…hair looks OK, not extremely healthy

Shoe Size
1st Pregnancy - By 21 weeks, I wasn’t able to fit into normal shoes, I think the feet had water retention, so I was on flat shoes most of the time
2nd Pregnancy - Hmm..still can wear my flat heels, not much water retention so far

Weight Gain
1st Pregnancy - I can’t recall much, probably has gained like 7-8kg (1st trimester was 5kg itself)
2nd Pregnancy - I lost 2kg, then I just regained 4kg, in total gained 2kg so far, but I started off with 4kg extra (from previous pregnancy), so not very healthy also

Back Pain
1st Pregnancy - had sciatica, was down @ home for 1 week
2nd Pregnancy - fingers crossed, so far OK

Baby’s Kungfu
1st Pregnancy - maybe it’s first time, so dunno how to tell difference if it’s kick or hiccup…but she likes to stretch herself, so sometimes can feel ticklish top n bottom
2nd Pregnancy - so far always lying low and gives me a lot of non-stop action kick..like Wong Fei Hung Shadow Kick x 10 times

Face
1st Pregnancy - looks more healthy and *yoon kwong woon fat*
2nd Pregnancy - got some pimples outbreak and dunno why, there are red blemishes appearing out of a sudden!!!

So girl or boy lehh….Mysterious mann…me also sitting on time bomb..bi bop bi bop…to continue in next post.

BTW, today is my birthday, Happy Birthday Mommy Jazzmint…muaks..kiss myself hahaha

Mommy is too lazy to post 15 post for CNY, so shorten this with 1 post for 15 days…..with loads of photos :). Gong Xi Fa Chai.

Chinese New Year Eve

had reunion dinner @ Jade Inn Kota Damansara. Upon reaching home, we have guest, Auntie Sandra (came back from Langkawi) to visit us. After that Daddy’s friends came over for drinks and Faythe doze to wonderland.

Some photos of her roaming around the living room.We even change the lights at our garage to a red light…cool right!!! Got this @ Thai :).

Day 1

went to pai-lin with MIL and exchange angpaus among ourselves. Then went TOTO shop to distribute angpau to workers.

we head to church thereafter, then went to pick up my Dad (Faythe’s grandpa) and had lunch over at our place.
Daddy decide to visit the olk folks home and give angpau…Faythe was happily helping us distributing angpaus :).At night, we had dinner with Daddy’s friend, Uncle Marc, then we light up some fireworks & firecrackers….

Faythe was equally amazed @ the fireworks….

Day 2 - *Hoi Lin*

lazy day for everyone. Since Daddy is studying for exam, we had lunch at home. Mommy cooked vegetarian.
At night, Uncle York Gene & Auntie Jackie together with Michelle che-che came and we had steamboat dinner behind our house. After that, more drinking sessions for adults and more sleeping session for Faythe :)

Day 3 - No speaking bad words

quiet & lazy day for all…Faythe had massage session conducted by Daddy. She just loves it.
We had lunch with MIL over at Lau Hiong, Kepong. Yummy food and cheap too!!! Then we went Jusco Kepong for some window shopping.@ nite, Uncle Marc came over and went dinner @ Malacca Rest behind our house. Food thumbs down :P

Day 4

Mommy expecting some ex-schoolmate over for gambling session. Hence she cooked up a feast on that day…macaroni with 2 choices of sauce :).Like 10 of the aunties came over, they gambled for 3 hours (in between & mahjong). They all left contended after the gambling session.

Dinner time, Uncle Poh Huat (daddy’s friend) and his lady friend came over and we had dinner over @ Hong Hing - delicious hokkien mee with pork soup.

Day 5

No photos or happenings…Faythe in slumber land for 4 hours whilst we *cook* Dark Angel series in Daddy’s study room. We went dinner with MIL & friends @ Tanker Restaurant Damansara Kim. 2nd bowl of sharksfin for me…slurpp…..Then we drop over at Uncle Selva’s place to visit his wife & Joshua, to pass Joshua his gifts from Daddy.

Day 6

Daddy needs to renew his flying license before he leaves for China for his simulator. So we took a drive to Putrajaya to get it done @ DCA (Department of Civil Aviation)
Faythe was asleep all the way there, this gives Mommy lots of opportunity to take shots of the beautiful architecture of Putrajaya while waiting for Daddy.
We then head for lunch over @ Sri Kembangan, then went home.
@ nite, Daddy came back late after his training and we had homemade wan tan mee for dinner

Day 7 - Everybody’s Birthday

After so many days of Chinese food, we finally turn over our heads to Western food for a change.

Went to 1utama and did some grocery shopping in the morning.

@ nite, Uncle George came over and Daddy cooked dinner for us…german sausages, mashed potato, ABC pasta soup, grilled pineapples, fried brocolli and prawns cooked in white wine!!!

Simply delicious :)

Day 8 - Mommy’s Chinese Birthday & Pai Tin Kong

Today is also Mommy’s Chinese Birthday!!!
Daddy went lunch with his colleagues while Faythe slept on the sofa when Mommy was watching some TVB series over the DVD and snapping photos.@ nite, as usual, it’s *pai tin kong* nite, so we went to Datuk Khoo’s house for buffet dinner (yearly event).

We reached home close to 12am, and the housing area was surrounded by fireworks. Both Mommy & Faythe stood watching by the window (left & right), so enjoyful :). Fireworks went on for pretty long, but Faythe was too tired & fell asleep, undisturbed by the sounds at all.

Day 9

Back to work for Mommy & everyone else. So it’s back to routine.Took this photo on Day 9 of CNY, Faythe in her purple frocks bought @ Summerset Bay. She looks so sweet in it

Day 10 - Day 12
Work, work, work as usual. Dinner @ home…..nothing much…

Day 13 - Dinner with office-mates

Work as usual. Had dinner @ Paris Restaurant SS2 with Mommy’s colleagues (all 7 of them). Food was so so…didn’t have gambling session over @ our house cause there were only 4 of them..what a shame!!!

Day 14 - Decanter Open House

We were invited for lunch @ Decanter, Damansara Heights. Organised by Tun Ling’s family. Daddy is pretty close friend to Uncle Hee Keat (one of Tun’s son). There were 5 lions performing lion dance. Amazing, what a sight!!!

Lunch was good too, with abundance of food & of course free flow of beer.

Even Datuk Ng Yen Yen came over to enjoy the food.

@ nite, we had dinner behind our house

Day 15 - Chap Goh Mei

Last day of CNY, as usual Daddy is busy with today cause he organise Chap Goh Mei for community in Kepong. This year he’s not the organiser, so a bit more free. He manage to get AirAsia to sponsor 6 tickets during Lucky Draw.

About 500 residents turn up…lion dance as well and Faythe enjoyed herself walking around the park and watching people throw oranges.

She even had the guts to touch the Lion Head :). The event ended at 10pm+, we all head to kepong for prawn mee @ Hoo Yee Kee.

That’s the synopsis of this year 2006 Chinese New Year. May year of Dog brings lots of luck to our family, our soon to arrive baby and to Daddy as well. All the best for his Airbus exam.

13th Month Milestone
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Faythe | icon4 02 6th, 2006| icon313 Comments »
Faythe is now officially 13 months…time flies, as she grows older, my tummy gets bigger by day!!! Since very long never update on her milestones, thought wanna post one here….copy Jefferene’s format hehehe…..

Physical growth

  • weighs 8.8kg (as of last Friday)
  • height 80cm (own measure)
  • 8 teeth (4 top, 4 bottom) - suspect the vampire teeth coming out soon
  • hair - growing long and no more spiky, but still people can ask if she’s a boy!!!
  • feet - bigger than size 1, smaller than size 2 - her left foot bigger than right foot!!!

Eating habit

  • breakfast - 5-6oz of milk
  • brunch (10am) - some biscuit or a slice of wholemeal bread
  • lunch - rice with soup, sometimes will have some fish or eggs
  • tea time (2-3pm) - fruits maybe..her favourite is papaya still..other tea break food includes biscuit, ice cream, mash potato
  • evening break (5-6pm) - 5-6oz milk
  • dinner (8pm) - rice with soup, plus some dishes depends what maid is cooking, some fruits for dessert or yoghurt depends on availability
  • surprisingly, she’s pretty well in chewing especially soft food, for those which she can’t chew and failed to swallow, she will spit out.
