The Park

Few weeks ago, I brought Faythe to the park. I’ve been longing to bring her to the park nearby but due to the bad weather haven’t been able to do so.

So finally we went to the park near our house. We brought maid and Vyktore along. Vyktore in the stroller, sleeping as usual. So maid too care of him.

Faythe enjoyed herself very much. climbing up the stairs and sliding down from the slide. We went a couple of rounds on the slide.

Then we moved on to the see saw. Mommy sat one side, Faythe sat one side and Mommy gotta be like a frog, leaping up and down in order to make the see saw move. Luckily the see saw didn’t break :P.

Then we went to the swing (no photos, swing moving too fast). Faythe enjoyed the swing very much.

There were some kids playing with the sand in the park. Faythe the KPC went close to them and look at what the kids were playing. She, being the *siu che*, use a leave to dig the sand instead of using her fingers. Some of the sand went into her shoes. She felt very uncomfortable and Mommy had to take out her shoes and clean her feet.

After going to the park, when I ask her about the park, she relates to me the swing and slide.
We went to the park again this week, but it’s a different park (just in front of the house) with Daddy. Had a lot of fun too and they’ve put on new swings, slides and see saw. Mommy also enjoyed sitting on the swing and Daddy pushing both Mommy and Faythe (each on separate swing). Mommy went gila and screaming with joy while sitting the swing LOL…Ahh…next time don’t need walk so far, can go to the one in front of the house :)

Few nights ago, I was busy snapping photos as usual. And Faythe was in very good mood. She started posing for me with all her funny faces. After downloading the photos to my PC, I found out these 2 cute photos.

1 with her tongue sticking out and her hand doing a 007 symbol.

1 with her deadly sexy pose, half naked lying on the bed.

So both combine together, we have our Sexy 007 Lady Bond.

Lately she learned how to say SEXY as well. I wonder where she learned that from…hmmm…

Smile :)

It’s never easy to capture toddlers photo. Especially our dearest lil’ Faythe. She runs around like nobody’s business. Not only that, sometimes she will attempt to hide her face from the papparazzi Mommy. Other times she will pose for you for few seconds, and before you could capture the photo she walks off.

Now it’s even better, she likes to see what you capture on the camera. So whenever she sees me holding a camera, she will run next to me and say “see”. Mommy rolls eyes “haven’t take any photo, see apa lehh*”

Nevertheles, I still manage to get some good shots out of the many that I take.

Sometimes she looks very serious when taking photo *look so stoned*. Of course this demanding Mommy wants her to look more relax and smile. So whenever I want her to smile, I’ll say “Faythe show your teeth”. But instead of her teeth, she will open her mouth wide and show me her tongue/mouth.

But I still enjoy those tongue/mouth/teeth picture. She look so happy in ‘em. Here are some that I’ve captured the pass few weeks.

Bags & Milk

When I return to work after giving birth to Faythe, I continued expressing BM for her in office. At that time, I just moved to new workstation and there’s nobody sitting next to me or behind me. So my EBM sessions nobody knew bout it.

I was also more discreet last time, the bag was smaller (1 pump, 1 bottle). And I didn’t know nursing room existed in office!! So I did my EBM sessions in the toilet. No worries, toilets here are pretty clean and no smell unless there’s someone doing BIG biz. Back then, there wasn’t any fridge on the floor I’m working at (still new). So after every session, I have to go 3 floors up to put the EBM into the fridge.

—————————————————————————————–

This time round when I return work, I didn’t move to a new workstation. I still sit where I was sitting 2 months ago before I exploded. My workplace, 90% of them are male species, this includes the person sitting next/behind me.

My EBM sessions has changed. I bring a bigger bag, to accomodate 2 bottles and some other stuff required for EBM session. So when the time comes, I will usually bring the bag and go do my biz.

And being a blur-male-single-colleague, I’ve had funny conversation with my colleague that sits next to me.

Scene 1

He sees me taking my BM bag.

X: Eh where you going huh..so early balik ah?
J: no lah, going to do cow business…*I thought he would understand*
X: He looks a bit blur, but accepted my answer

Scene 2

We are about to leave the office, packing our bags. I have to carry 3 bags (handbag, laptop bag and BM bag)

X: Eh why you bring so many bag to office?
J: Oh, this bag is for my baby mah… *again, thinking that he gets what I mean*
X: *Again looks blur, but accepted my answer*

Scene 3

On another day, again we were preparing to go home. I went to the pantry to get the 2 bottles of milk and bring it back to my workstation.

X: eh, why you bring ur baby’s milk to office one?
J: *oops, he still never get me ah after all this while* I express in office mah, so gotta bring home and give to him lor
X: *Looked surprise* ooo….*probably he finally understands :P

Scene 4

Same like Scene 3, I was putting the milk into the EBM bag.

X: wahh a lot of milk huh
J: eh the more the better mah…can help loose weight u know
X: Really ah?
J: yalah, 1 month 1kg oo…no need go slimming center
X: wow.. *looks amazed*

Vyktore’s Baby Dedication
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Vyktore | icon4 08 23rd, 2006| icon320 Comments »

On Sunday, we celebrated Vyktore’s baby dedication in Church. This is just a ceremony to dedicate the baby to the Lord, not considered as baptism. Our church doesn’t practice baptising kids. They believe that we should give the kid a chance to choose if they want to be baptist or not later, not when they are still young and doesn’t understand.

The last time we did baby dedication for Faythe, we ordered a roast pork as a treat to all the church goers. This round it’s the same old story. Daddy loves the idea of ordering the pork…he enjoys the chopping hahaha…

So here are some pictures taken from the event and the happenings…It’s non-halal, so watch out!!

on the altar, praying for Vyktore…look at Faythe, fully concentrating

yucks!! Daddy wants to lick the roast pork

cutting ceremony. Notice MIL sitting behind, already fall asleep hahaha

Daddy doing the pig-claw kungfu *roll eyes* (that’s why I say he enjoys chopping it)

Allergies Attack
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Et Cetera | icon4 08 23rd, 2006| icon318 Comments »

Daddy has allergy to some medication (X). Since the first day I know him, he has told me repeatedly never give him medicine containing X. Yes, I remember it very well. Don’t understand why he has allergies to that though, I never have any allergies to any medicine or any food (except during preggy with Faythe, I was allergic to ajinomoto).

On Monday, Daddy reported that he’s not feeling well. He called me in the evening, I told him I’m on the way back. Whenever he’s sick or feeling a bit sick, he’s always like a BIG baby. He gets very manja *roll eyes*. When I reached home, he wasn’t at home, so I called him. Apparently, his friend took him to the clinic. OKlor, so we waited for them to come home. Meanwhile the maid prepared dinner.

He came home, had some dinner and took the medicine. So he was sitting on the sofa resting and chit chat with his friend. Then he started rubbing his eyes. After 5 mins, we start to notice that her eyes are getting swollen. He still rubs his eyes even I told him not too. Somethings not right. I repeatedly asked him if Dr. prescribed him with X, he said no cause he told Dr. bout that.

He ran upstairs for a while. After 5mins, he came down, short of breath and eyes even more swollen!!! Immediately he called my SIL. SIL is a paed, so whenever we need some free consultation she’s usually the first we buzz. Apparently, the medicine which the Dr. gave him, shouldn’t be tried as not very sure what is the content inside. Whoaa!!!

So off we went to the clinic again, cause I was getting worried. What if he collapse at home, I won’t have the energy to drag him into the car. He’s twice my weight!! When we arrived, the nurse saw his swollen eyes, right away he was shoved into the room, jumping queue.

And now we found out that he’s not only allergic to X, but also allergic to Y. haiya…this Daddy really alot of *sa poh ngang chang*…So Dr. prescribed him some medicine to subside the Y.

Tuesday morning when we woke up, his eyes was still a bit swollen…poor fella.

So now there are 2 items that he needs to watch out in the medicine.

Notice the photo…looks like *chu tau ping* kekekeke….

Pacifier - something that Faythe can’t live without. I’ve started her on pacifier as early as 2 months+ because she just wouldn’t sleep quietly. With the pacifier, it’s really a blessing, but I told myself, only when she needs to sleep. But soon, the pacifier has become her comfort object. We never leave home without one. Even my car has her pacifier. We have at least 3 at home and at least 3 at MIL’s place. IT’S A WORLD OF PACIFIER.

3 days before I start work, on a very late night, Faythe was still jumping around on the bed, refuse to sleep though I can sense that she’s realll sleepy. Hence I decide to take her pacifier away. I told her “No oi oi, no pacifier”. She didn’t bother. She continued to jump around. After a while, she must have gotten real tired, she put her head on the pillow and was pretty quiet. I didn’t do anything, I thought she’s pretending to sleep. Usually she will come to me and beg for the pacifier to put her to sleep. After a while, I call her…Faythe …no answer…Faythe…no answer again…oops…she fell asleep without PACIFIER!! Wow!!

The next morning, I show her the pacifier, it was bitten on both sides. Me being the cheeky Mommy, went to take a pair of scissors and cut off the tip. I showed her, “See your pacifier, you bite and now there’s a big hole”. She gave me a grin, put the pacifier into her mouth and spit it out with disgusted face.

On the same night, again I didn’t offer her the pacifier. I told her “Pacifier spoilt. Daddy fix it OK”. She wouldn’t dare to ask from Daddy. She tossed a bit, and then slept quietly..WOW, another night hehehe…

Next day, we bring her to MIL’s place in the afternoon, I showed MIL the cut pacifier and told MIL. So we all *pakat* and told her pacifier Daddy is fixing. When I picked her up from MIL’s in the evening, she told me Faythe didn’t have pacifier during her naps, but she still toss n turn occasionally.

And on the 3rd night, Mommy repeated the same words…Daddy fix it…And since then, it’s history….she no longer needs to look for it when it’s nap time.

We test the water early this week. Showed her some of her old pacifier. She just played with it, put into her mouth, then pull it off. But when sleeping time she didn’t ask for it. Now it’s probably a toy for her.

Bravo Faythe…Mommy’s clever girl.

Bald-ed

We gave Vyktore a hair cut after fullmoon cause it was becoming like porcupine. Now after 2 months, the hair hasn’t grown much longer, but it smells funny.

It smells like sweat+never take bath…yes..not sure why it smells like this, but it’s certainly unpleasant.

MIL + SIL been trying to get rid of the smell on his head since he’s under my MIL’s care last week. They put baby oil, give a good massage, wash, wash, wash…still the same.

So this is what we decided to do in the end….hey, I smell his head today, at least it smells good now :).

MIL says it could be the smell of the placenta…cause both my children has a lot of hair, maybe absorbed the smell from placenta…hmmm….maybe lah

Triple Blunder
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Jazzmint, Motherhood | icon4 08 14th, 2006| icon318 Comments »

I was reading Zara’s blog today bout what happen to Zara’s Mommy over the weekend. And just then triple bad luck striked on me in a day!!!

Incident 1

I was downstairs storing the EBM I’ve expressed at 3am, eyes all so sleepy. After putting away the EBM into freezer, I open the fridge door and attempt to take out the defrosted EBM to place into milk bottles. I usually do this so that maid do not handle the milk and she can just bring the bottles to MIL house for Vyktore’s feeding.

Opps…I saw something dripping. I lifted the ice cream bag, holy cow!!! The bag had holes at the bottom, not only one but all 4 of it!!! Arghh…I slowly move them out one by one with minimal spillage and pour all of them into the bottle. I think I wasted bout 2oz there!!

Incident 2

I finished expressing milk in office for the day, kept all the stuff in the bag. One of the milk bottle which is pretty full (> 9oz), I placed it in the thermal bag, and oopss..I accidentally dropped it on the floor. Usually I don’t open up to check, but out of curiosity I opened it. To my surprise, the milk spilled!!! Arghh…1.5oz gone :(. So I cleaned it up.

Then this stupid me, close the bottle tightly and try to tilt it a bit to see if it’s OK. And again!!! some milk spilled!!! All in 3oz gone :(

Incident 3

After dinner today, I went home. Opened the freezer door, start to take out  the EBM for defrosting. I decide to take out those in containers as it occupies more space and I’m out of space liao!! Suddenly one fell on the floor. Took it up… @#(#)@$(_#*$…the bottom broke and there are pieces of plastic….aiyooo…I was contemplating if I should defrost that, but don’t want to take the risk of the broken plastic, so I dispose another 2oz of milk to the dustbin.

This is really sui day for EBMs. I told Daddy bout all the 3 incidents. Two things he said:

  1. NVM lah…you got plenty in the freezer - that was after incident 1 & 2
  2. You better not touch any of my things today..very sui lah u - that was after incident 3
