Oopsss…..

Faythe is very talkative nowadays, she can just make up pieces of lines together, sometimes when she talks, she will make silly remarks. When I point it out, she will use both hands cover her mouth and laugh sheepishly over her silly remarks. If I repeat it again, she will again laugh covering her mouth. Here’s what she said:

Faythe: Afterwards go buy chung chung (worm) for fish..
Mommy: Who eat chung chung?
Faythe: ARO eat chung chung…Timun (Lion King meerkat) also eat chung chung…
Mommy: Faythe leh, Faythe eat what?
Faythe: Faythe also eat chung chung…
Mommy: eee yerr…Faythe eat chung chung, Faythe like Timun…eeee…
Faythe: Closed her mouth and laugh…hehehe..hehehe…

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Mommy: *trying to take the tissue out from the tissue bag* Ooppsss…
Faythe: *Staring at me*
Mommy: Tissue jumping girl *The bag was jumping all over the place as I pull the tissue out*
Faythe: hehe…hehhe…Mommy make tissue jumping…hahaha

I don’t know what’s so funny bout that remark, but she finds it funny, everytime I say tissue jumping she will remember that incident and laugh.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Faythe: *trying to suck the straw, but instead she was sucking from the spoon*
Grandma: Faythe why you suck the spoon?
Faythe: *realised her mistake* oops…hahah…*laugh at her ownself*

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

One of her fav. cartoon is Madagascar, one of the scene is the Lion chasing the Zebra, then bit the Zebra’s buttock.

Mommy: Faythe, what did Lion do?
Faythe: Lion chase Zebra *while talking, she did a bit of running as though she’s the lion chasing*
Mommy: Then who bite zebra?
Faythe: Lion bite Zebra’s buttock…hehehe…hehehe..(laughing)
Mommy: Oohh…so Mommy bite your buttock can or not? Like Lion bite Zebra.
Faythe: Don’t want…
Mommy: kakakaka….want…come Mommy bite :P..ngaumm..*Pretend to bite her*
Faythe: giggles…

I’ve not blog bout both my kids together since quite a while. It’s always Vyktore or Faythe, not together. So what’s been happening with the 2 kids. Vyktore has grown alot over the pass 1 month. He’s able to crawl (like a worm), trying hard on all-four still. He’s also able to sit without support. Hence there are more interaction within Faythe and Vyktore.

What I like to do, other than snapping photos, I like to dress them up in the same outfit, cause they look so cute haha..and Faythe would say, “Faythe & didi same one”. Everyone says that Vyktore is looking more and more like Faythe now, face is changing. I look at Faythe’s baby picture, it’s quite true, Vyktore now looks very much like Faythe used to be, except that he’s fatter.

When they start playing together, I notice Faythe is quite bossy. Sometimes she will grab the toys from Vyktore and take it away (my illusion of nightmare is coming). Sometimes she will happily share toys with Vyktore. Other times she will say, “This one Faythe one. Didi cannot touch”. Vyktore of course doesn’t know much, and gets irritated especially when he’s munching the toy happily and Faythe snatches it. And I gotta be the judge and keep telling Faythe, give back to Vyktore.

Faythe likes to take pics with Vyktore. Everytime I put Vyktore on the bed, she will quickly go next to Vyktore and say, “Mommy take picture”.

Lately, Faythe has been acting like a big sister and here’s their conversation.

Scene 1
Vyktore: Crawling towards the fan
Mommy: Vyktore…no no…
Faythe: runs next to Vyktore…no no….Vyktore boy cannot touch
Vyktore: Keeps crawling nearer
Mommy: haiiighh Vyktore….
Faythe: Vyktore boy no no….she will start pulling Vyktore away from the fan

Scene 2
Vyktore: Crying out loud
Faythe: Vyktore boy don’t cry…come jie jie put music for you *she will climb into the cot and turn the music mobile*

Scene 3
Faythe: *wakes up and stretches and sees didi next to him* Didiii……..
Vyktore: *babbles*..auuuu..auuu..
Faythe: auuu…auu…didi laughing..hahaha *sometimes she will speak baby language to the brother and they will both enjoy a short conversation*

Scene 4
Vyktore: crying in the cot
Faythe: didi don’t cry, jie jie give you this one (offering her toys to Vyktore)
Vyktore: still crying
Faythe: Mommy help…Vyktore boy cry…(I got no choice lah, wanna be lazy also can’t, gotta go pick Vyktore up)

Sometimes she will give instruction to maid

Scene 1
Faythe: Kakak……(calling from upstairs)..
Kakak: ya…
Faythe: Mari jaga Vyktore boy….

Scene 2
Faythe: Kakak…(calling from upstairs again)..
Kakak: yah…
Faythe: make susu for Vyktore boy, Vyktore boy hungry

Can’t wait for both of them to grow up…we will have more fights, more laughter and of course more tears (if both crying at the same time haha)

Faythe is not very much a milk person since 1 year old. She only takes milk 2-3 times a day, each time 4oz. Rest of the time, she will eat solid. She loves hard food.

As she grow older, her milk habit becomes worse. She can take up to 1 hour just to finish that miserable 4oz of milk. She likes to walkabout the house with the bottle hanging from the mouth. When I prompt her she will take a sip, then continue toddling around. This makes me quite frust sometimes and most of the time she will leave 2oz behind, very wasteful (Enfa so expensive lah!!!).

One fine day, I was about to go out and she was still hanging the bottle by the mouth and refuse to finish. I told her if you want to follow me, you gotta finish the milk, but she ignored. After several warning, still ignoring me. Guess what I did. I took the bottle from her, told her fine you don’t want to drink, then don’t. And I FLUNG the bottle out of the house, landed on the road!! Yes, I’m very ganas eh..luckily there wasn’t anyone walking, or else could have hit that person. She didn’t cry a bit, just looked at me and kept quiet.

From that day on, there’s no more milk bottle for Faythe. She still remembers it till today. So now she drinks from cup, and it takes only 10 minutes to finish. I give her mikl in her favourite Barney Cup (actually a tumbler) and she will sip from the straw. As she drinks, I’ll psycho her and say if she doesn’t finish, Barney won’t want to speak to her.

I’m really glad that she doesn’t use milk bottle anymore. So no worries of ugly teeth or tooth decay. After she drinks her milk (esp at night), we will brush her teeth and then gargle. She’s now an expert in gargling hehehe…

My next mission: diaperless…I think this is gonna be very long time from now, since I tried but she’s not too ready for that still.

Loots from China
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Travelogue | icon4 01 25th, 2007| icon316 Comments »

OK, so after the 9 Days tour, we came back with 4 bags (we went there with 2). In fact the 2 extra bags, the bag itself is purchased from China :P.

So what did we get. Frankly speaking, not much lerr..I think we spend more on food than goods haha..the one that took so much luggage space..the bedroom slippers…see pics below.

Tea and teapots for Daddy..he’s a happy man after getting all the tea and teapot, that’s his main purpose of going China actually. 3 pairs of Monster Feet bedroom slippers haha..1 for us, the rest for BIL & SIL. Varieties of angpau packets including the one with the surname.

Exact replica of Coach purse and other Monogram keypurse (for Daddy’s colleagues). Various locks that use for travelling. Collagen mask and collagen eye mask for ME. Tea cups.

Music CDs. 2 extendable tongkat. Daddy says can use this when his gout attacks :P. Some snacks for colleagues. Clothes for the kids. I bought extra clothes (those 5 pieces of the same type), anyone interested lemme know :). Only girls baju, boy we only bought 1 pair LOL, cause we couldn’t find the shop that we saw earlier.

Sticker books for Faythe. Hair clip for Faythe. Ermm..some drawing indulgence (more for me than the kids). Hair clips for Mommy. Eyebrow shaver (so cheap, only RM2, with extra blade somemore!!!). 2 scrolls containing the kids name.

Cartier watch for MIL..nice hoh..Giant lighter for Daddy. Mont Blanc pens…for my colleagues. And our last purchase, wine from Macau Airport. Daddy actually was running to catch the flight cause he was so busy purchasing this wine *rol eyes*.

Of course there are other stuff, I bought 2 pieces of clothes (all can’t wear, winter clothing), and a few more items which we didn’t take photo.

OK, so when is our next trip…hmmm…

Faythe 2nd Birthday
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Faythe | icon4 01 24th, 2007| icon322 Comments »

ok, the final backdated post I hope.

After coming back from China, 3 days later it’s supposed to be Faythe’s Birthday. We were supposed to have dinner at home, but because I was still recovering from food poisoning, we decided to eat out.

Few weeks before her birthday, I was already telling Faythe, that her birthday is coming and asked her what cake she wants. This what she told me, “Mommyyyy, Faythe want Nemo cake”. OK, so I downloaded a few pictures of Nemo and let her select. She chose the design she liked, and I went to order the cake.

We booked a room at one of the restaurant behind our house. It was really nice as the room has Karaoke (MIL’s fav) and it has lounge set there as well, so the kids can runaround if they get bored during the dinner. Before the dinner, I sent all the scrap pages which I did for her from 13th month to 2 yrs old to print. I passed it to the restaurant and requested them to hang it up. They did a good job, when we arrived there, the guest (the family and 3 friends) were amazed with the setup hehe…

(Faythe’s Godmom, all the way from UK)

We had 8 course meal and the food was great. Faythe ate alot of food as well, incl. sharks fin, fish and her favourite mushroom. There was a dish with scallop as well and she made sure that she has a share of that.

When Faythe saw the birthday cake, she was so happy…cause her fav cartoon character was printed on the cake. Then we sang her the birthday song and she was delighted as well.

So what did Mummy bought for Faythe. Ticket to watch Disney On Ice: Finding Nemo, coming to KL in April…whooaa..and that’s not cheap lehh, good thing is I got it during promo, it was 30%+ discount.

Zhuhai 2 Days
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Travelogue | icon4 01 23rd, 2007| icon35 Comments »

We arrived @ Zhuhai on 31st Dec 06. The eve of New Year. Supposingly celebrate New Year in Zhuhai, but things didn’t turn well.

It was already 3pm+ when we arrived at Zhuhai after checking in, we rushed to make sure we change some RMB and all the banks were open, but they don’t accept Euro (smack head). In the end we went to Gong Bei (one shopping complex near the checkpoint to Macau) and managed to get the money changed. After that we went to have our very late lunch. Food wasn’t tasty but no choice.

Next we went to New Yuan Ming Palace. Apparently, this is the exact model of the actual Yuan Ming Palace in China. Daddy has been here before, but during daytime. So this time round we will stay till late night and see the performance. Apparently, if you enter after 6pm, you only need to pay 1/2 the entry fee..cool eh…

This place is very huge, it has a lake of itself too. It has all the different different mini palace, which houses different things, i.e. the dining room, the concubine’s palace, etc. It was getting dark though it’s only 6+, so we scurried to take as many photos as possible because night photography will be tough (we didn’t bring our tripod :().

We got to know that 8pm, there will be a performance at the stage, which we gotta climb some steps. On our way there, there’s this stall in one of the room which writes poem based on your name. As usual, our kids are the priority. So we gave the man both our kids chinese name and they wrote a poem. The very malu thing was I wasn’t sure about Faythe’s name, I actually called back KL to ask my sifu LOL.

When it’s dark, the lights are on and the palace is very beautiful. Picture taken by Daddy, my camera’s night shot didn’t really look good. We made in on time to watch the performance. It was some dunno what Dynasty, taken over China. And the show was about the wealth and prosperity of that Dynasty. Lots of dance, dance after dance.

And there were also market place, where 2 fellas tied to the wire and flying around…wahh…very well co-ordinated. It even comes with narration. All the dances took 1 hour to finish, and then everyone proceed to the lake where they staged the Opium War. We didn’t get a good spot for the lake as there were just so many ppl :(. Only manage to take a few shots..I honestly prefer the lake performance. But my tummy started acting up. I began to feel nausea :(.

We went back to hotel, and I took some rest. Daddy went to buy food back. I didn’t feel well all the time, and after taking some food, threw up…yucks…and that was how we celebrated the New Year…eww…

The next day, I still didn’t feel well, and threw up again…we suspect must be the lunch in Zhuhai that cause the problem, we ate different food, so only myself felt it. Food poisoning!!! Luckily Daddy has all the medicine in hand, quickly took the medicine and went to bed. Daddy went out shopping whilst I rested in the hotel.

Took the medicine twice, by 3pm, I was feeling better, at least can eat and no more throwing up, but still feel giddy. Only at night, I felt better and could walk abit. So we went to the Gong Bei area and shop around (very last minute shopping). And had some drinks at the pub by the roadside.

Didn’t do much in Zhuhai since the food poisoning episode, but there are really a lot of stuff to buy, especially those Monogram fake goods. Daddy bought 2 coach purse for colleague, that’s only Rm20/purse!! I didn’t get any, cause I don’t like monogram, looks ugly to me LOL. Well, I didn’t go back empty handed, I bought some facial products to use hehe..and I’m quite satisfied with the hydrating mask.

We left for Macau the next morning, catching the earliest flight back to KL. So tired and still don’t feel good, I’m so glad to be home and off the flight.

Will post about our loots from our trip in the next post.

Guangzhou 3 Days
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Travelogue | icon4 01 21st, 2007| icon39 Comments »

We left for guangzhou @ 6pm, by the time we arrived there it was already 8pm and dark. We had some problem getting to the hotel because the bus station was just opposite the Liu Hua Road (where the hotel was supposed to be - it’s a darn long road) and taxi refused to take us there (grrr…). In the end, we walked all the way from the bus station crossed the highway (using the subway) and walked part of Liu Hua Road. Taxi drivers had problem finding the hotel and no one wanted to bring us there. Last resort, we called the hotel and asked the hotel recept to speak to the taxi hehehe…and finally we arrived at the hotel close to 9pm!!!

This is definitely a nicer hotel compared to Macau. About 150RM a night, it has just been renovated in July and I read a lot of good review bout the hotel. No regrets. We quickly freshen up and took a hot shower and went for dinner. Yah!! So hungry, gotta go find food first rite. Daddy been to GZ for a couple of times (for business + training), so he’s pretty familiar and know where’s the place for food.

We headed straight to the restaurant (4-storey’s high!!!). It’s a live-seafood-pick-and- choose-restaurant. You go around looking at all the seafood, select the one you want, they will recommend the cooking style and cook for you. By the time you finish your shopping, sit down on your table for a while, food will be served. Syiok eh…Lets see what we’ve got. The one at the bottom with the tail, that’s croc’s meat. Ewww…I’ve eaten that when I was young (supposingly cure cough), but now looking at the real one, aiyo so kesian.

Next, lobsters, snakes, snails (of all sorts), another type of prawn, some bugs (looks like those bugs in the Mummy Movie..yikes!!!) and more prawns.

Various types of crabs (meat crab, roe crab, *tai chap hai*, etc.), that’s the poor croc in the cage, snake soup, chinese sausages, veg…and the crab we ordered. Look it’s more than 1kg!! And how much it cost us, RM30 oni lahh…later you see the inside you’ll faint haha…

This what we ordered. Bamboo clams (huge), kailan stem (stir fried), 1kg Crab cooked with cheese (look at the roe!!!), double boil seahorse + dunno what soup, baked prawns with tea leaves (very refreshing) and dessert…steam egg in orange. And all this for only RM150. Not super cheap, but the crab is really worth. Every single bite is roe, roe, roe & meat, meat, meat.By the time we finished dinner, it was already 11pm+. So we decided to go back to hotel, take a rest and start up early tomorrow. We left the hotel about 9am. It’s so darn cold today cause the wind is blowing strongly. We stopped at McD to take our breakfast before heading to our first destination. The 5 Ram Statue. This statue is located in the park, YueXiu Park, pretty close to the hotel.

Why gotta visit this, cause I read that Guangzhou’s history is somehow related to this 5 rams, so we are there, might as well go. But….this park is so darn huge, It’s probably like 5-6 times TTDI park!!! And to get in you gotta pay, RM2.5. Hahah…yah one funny thing bout China, you gotta pay to go into the park. There were supposed to be a few things to see in this park itself, but by the time we found the Statue, we were already so exhausted. It’s right on top of the hill..pheww!! And there were some shooting happening (some Olympic games thingy) and we couldn’t get a nice angle for pics. Regret lahh..climb so high just to see the statue.

Next we went to the Nanyue King Mausoleum. It’s just opposite the park itself. Actually wasn’t planned, but since we bump into this place, why not LOL. This is a very big mausoleum cum muzium. When we first enter, there are like 3-4 halls, displaying some exhibits of pillows (used in olden days) and pottery. The pillows were very beautiful, all handmade I suppose and so hard, it’s all made of clay / ceramic. How to sleep lah??

Then we went to the mausoleum which was located up the hill, part of the musuem we well. No photos in the mausoleum (sorry eh). But this is really amazing. Nothing as close as Terra Cotta Warriors, but pretty comprehensive. All the bones, the treasures were on display. When the king died, the people made suit for him, made of marble!!! When he was unearth, they remake this suit and showcase in the mausoleum. They even had the actual tomb itself, well preserved and we went in there (this the only place where we could take photos). Ahh…I think next round I want to go to see Terra Cotta Warriors hehehe…

Enough of sightseeing for the day, our next destination is Fang Chun, the tea wholesale. It’s a giant mall, just sellng tea & accessories (incl. tea furniture as well). Rachel, if you go here, I’m sure you pengsan liao hahaha…here you will be spoilt by the varieties. Of course Daddy will never leave this place without purchasing tea. He bought some teapot, cups and tea. Then we went across the street..more tea shop..geezz…and that’s where we spent the rest of the evening there.

We went back to hotel to shower, then our next destination at night, Up Down Nine Street (direct translate to Cantonese :P). This is where the shopping place is, like our BB Walk, but it’s probably like 10 times longer than BB Walk!!! How we knew bout this place hahaha…we made friends with the waitresses in the restaurant we ate in the 1st day and they told us this the place for shopping. We see a lot of local there, not so many foreigners. There were 4 huge malls, right in the center, and along the streets are just shop after shop…so long that we couldn’t finish and complaining it’s too long. The 3rd photo is me with the huge *Pei Pa Kou* replica hahaha…some red packets they were selling, pretty cool..it has so many designs, 1 pack for RM2. And we spotted this with the surname on the angpau, we sapu-ed all available :P. Daddy purchasing some caramelised fruits (ping tong woo lou - cantonese). Nice but not for kids as the caramel is very sharp. A man dressed in chicken suit, selling some tit bits I think.

Since we didn’t finish all the shops, we decided that the next night, we will go here again. Next day, again we left quite early. Took a pic at the Exhibition Hall, this is where the exhibition is when there’s trade fair. There are so many exhibition hall and all are huge. And the 2nd pic is actually a brand new hotel, Dong Feng. Looks very nice, I’m sure it’s expensive and 5 star. Our next destination, Chen Clan Ancestral Temple. This place is rated as one of the World Heritage Site by UNESCO and supposingly one of the 8 wonders of China. There was this guy selling piping hot chestnut. There were some statues outside of the Temple, so we took the opportunity to take some shots…Look, we are advertising for Pepsi hahah…should go ask some royalty :P. And why are we advertsing Pepsi, cause earlier we had breakfast in KFC. We had roasted chicken burger as breakfast..yum yum..and fried prawns..yah, KFC sells prawn, cool eh.

This is definitely a place worth going. It has a lot of carvings, pretty well maintained…Just enjoy the place lah…Very big. According to the history, this place is built for the Chan ppl that travels to Guangzhou for the Exam during those days..You know lah, Chan is the most popular surname in Chinese, so I guess their people also donated the money and build this place. It’s something like our Chinese Assembly Hall in KL, but many times bigger and more beautiful.

Look at the door…so huge!!! Some parts of the Temple and we took some photos. The weather is just nice, not too cold. So we enjoyed the place while eating chestnut haha…

We took pic of Daddy standing next to the main entrance, the door so big, Daddy so small :P. The drawings on the door is pretty scary. They say is to scare the evil spirits away..got some story one lah. The middle bottom pic, that’s where they put all the ancestral *san chu pai* (dunno what you call in English). So many ehh..but they didn’t display there, just the worship place only.

After this place, our next destination, Children’s clothing wholesale. We saw the place yesterday on our way to Fang Chun, but not sure what’s the place call. So just had the map with us, ask around, walk walk walk..almost gave up and finally found it hahaha…This is another huge mall, only selling kids clothes. There were so many shops, if you want to get back to the first shop to get some clothes, you’d probably not find it. The clothes were cheap, one piece like RM7-10, but the trick is you have to buy in bulk, at least 100 pieces (cursing @(*@)(#*). And because it’s winter, most clothing are too thick for Malaysia use. We bought a few clothes (on those shop that allows 5 pieces) for the kids. Look at the variety of CNY clothes they have..better than here lerr..

We left the place pretty early, cause no more RMB hahaha…went back to hotel, took a nap. Then left for up down nine street again..this time we start buying all the stuff we wanted after the survey the previous night. At about 11pm, we went for dinner at the same restaurant that we went on the first day :P. Yup, they open very late, till 2am!!! This time we ordered baby abalone (live ones), lala siong tong (didn’t like it, too peppery),* tai chap hai* (didn’t like it also, too difficult to eat) and a few more non seafood dishes. The bill came up to RM150 also..which I think pretty worth since got 4 abalones. in KL, one abalone already cost Rm40!! Abalone was very nice, steam with garlic. That’s the restaurant that we had our dinner…A must go if you visit GZ. So it’s the last night in GZ, we went back, pack our stuff and went to bed. Next morning, we check out and had breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant. They serve pretty good dim sum here. The one I like is the 2nd pic, it’s a dessert made of coconut milk and the middle it has corn.

We left GZ around noon, took a bus to Zhuhai…the bus ride was like taking forever goshhh..and this the place where I suffered :(.

Shenzen 1 Day
icon1 jazzmint | icon2 Travelogue | icon4 01 18th, 2007| icon320 Comments »

So we left Macau on 27th Dec early morning. Took a ferry to go over to HK. I didn’t take any photos on the ferry cause I get seasick, was trying very hard to sleep but couldn’t grrrr…cause someone was snoring so loud!! (Not daddy, but another man seating nearby).

We arrived at HK Sheungwan at 8am. Looking at the amount of people at the MTR station is a real scare!! People from all walks of life, rushing from one end to the other. They are all walking like soldiers going to work…I’m amazed :P.

We took the MTR to Lantau Island, stopping near the Chek Lap Kok Airport. We went to Cathay Pacific City, as Daddy gotta settle somethings there. See the photos on the 2nd row…very familiar rite. Yes!!! It’s the place where they filmed *Triumph to the Skies*, that famous pilot TVB series. While waiting for Daddy, I just sat at the office, admiring the place..and of course trying to remember some of the scenes in the TV series LOL.

We left Cathay Pacific City close to 10am, head towards another MTR station (can’t recall the name). There was a shopping complex there with many OUTLETS. Yes!! OUTLETS, means the things they sell are cheaper. So we decide to look around since we are there. But I was so so so tired..just couldn’t walk cause I only slept 3 hours the nite before (packing for Daddy grrrr). So I went to KFC, sat down, and slept…Daddy went walking around, 1 hour later he came back. Telling me about all the shops and urging me to walk…We drank ABC soup from KFC..ya wohh..their KFC has ABC Soup, and tasted so good hahha…Then OK lah, I decided to take a walk. Went into Esprit Outlet, look at the clothes then saw the price. WOW WOW!!! So cheap!!! Yeah, it was really cheap, like RM30+ can get an office shirt. Then I saw this dress which was pretty nice as well, only for RM50 lah…but no more size grrr..Anyway, I bought the shirt, since it was so cheap.

We went to Samsonite Outlet as well, and bought a Samsonite sling pouch for RM50 (cheap huh). Then we went Giordano Outlet, and Daddy bought some stuff from there too. We didn’t do much in HK, took our lunch at one of the restaurant. Then we head straight to Shenzen.

We were supposed to stay in hotel and meet up Hui Sia & family for dinner. But Hui Sia was really kind to offer us a nite stay at her place. This the first time I’m meeting her though I’ve known her since my first pregnancy. My first impression when I saw her…wahh..why Hui Sia so tall one :P. She’s taller than me!!! (I’m not short too, about 5′6″). We quickly settle down at her place, by then it was already 6pm+. We went for dinner thereafter at a nearby restaurant, and my goshh…we ordered so much food. After dinner, we walk around the housing area..and we saw this huge Electrical cable, just at the road side..aiyo, that’s so dangerous!!!

Since we have nothing much to do, we went for *wash leg*. That’s massage in another word. Dip our legs in very hot water and steam the leg. After that change to another pail of water with herbs. After that, they will wash our legs. Then start the massage. Very relaxing, I almost fell asleep hehehe…

Next day, we went for dim sum breakfast at the same restaurant we had dinner. And our next destination is Window of the World. This is one of the place where the Internet review says must go!! So go lorr..This is the place where you can find all the wonders of the world, buildings of the world in this whole place!! It consist of miniature buildings, as well as life size Eiffel Tower.

The entrance of Window of the World, Louvre…I think it’s 1:1, not miniature. And they have many other things at the entrance, dunno what’s that lah. It cost us RMB60 for entrance, cheap for such a big place.

OK and here are the pics of the many places around the world that we covered in 1 day!! Superb ehh..1 day around the world hahaha…But we missed leaning tower of Pisa, couldn’t find it lehh..we also missed Merlion of Singapore (nvm, saw real one liao). And there’s no Landmark from Malaysia (shame shame). I think when they build this place, the KLCC wasn’t up yet, or else we could have found a miniature KLCC here hehehe…

  1. The statue very cold, we decided to borrow him our jacket hehe…
  2. Took a photo with the iron horse (dunno what country is that).
  3. Look at the miniature Roman Amphitheatre.
  4. Me sitting on the Rhino, this was supposed to be the Africa Safari.
  5. Me in New York, next to the World Trade Center (now no more).
  6. The statue is a Jesus I think, right on top of the hill, but dunno what country.
  1. Me with the 4 faces of US President (don’t know what’s that place called, sorry, my geography is quite SDN BHD).
  2. Me at Taj Mahal.
  3. Me standing under the famous bridge in Sydney.
  4. Me next to Sydney Opera House (it’s a miniature).
  5. That’s Paris Eiffel Tower and some other building (we suspect London).
  6. That’s me, sitting on one of the miniature in Italy.
  1. Daddy in France (arch de triomphe). This is very detail copy, they even have all the names carved on the arch itself!!!
  2. Daddy at some ermm..don’t know what, but in Greece.
  3. Daddy pretending to catch crocs @ Africa Safari.
  4. Stonehenge I think.
  5. Daddy pretending to be a dragon LOL..this was at the dinasour park.
  6. Some statue of kids drinking milk from a dog!!!
  1. Another pic of both of us @ one of the church in Italy, Rome.
  2. Sawadeeka..Daddy in Thai.
  3. Can’t remember if this was Korea or Japan Palace.
  4. That’s a mini Angkor Wat.
  5. A bridge crossing from Japan to somewhere else.
  6. That big slab of cement painted in brown…Ayer Rocks hahaha…
  1. Me *pok mung* at the statue kekeke.
  2. Me @ one of the winter house.
  3. Me at Holland, windmills and tulips.
  4. Me at Eiffel Tower..it’s very huge, I think 1/2 the size of Eiffel Tower (that’s what Daddy claims, as he has been to the real one before).
  5. Johann Strauss statue also have!!
  6. This one don’t know what is that.
  1. Another shot at some landmark in US (don’t know the name again :P)
  2. Daddy taking pics with Gorilla hahaha…Looks like one species huh
  3. Daddy at NZ Maori tent.
  4. Another statue needs our clothing. If not mistaken this one is some scholar statue.
  5. Daddy with fake Sakura flowers in Japan.
  6. Daddy at the Italian Church.

OK, that’s the end of the Window of the World. We spend whole day there and left the place at about 4pm. We head back to Hui Sia’s house, pack our stuff and head to the bus station. Got ourselves ticket to Guangzhou and boarded at 6pm. It was a 2 hour journey to Guangzhou, we didn’t sleep in the bus, but chatted instead.

So do I like Shenzen? I think the 1 day trip is too short to summarize the liking. But I seriously don’t like the air there, pretty polluted :(. I don’t think I want to go back there hahaha…

Next up, 3 days in Guangzhou..shopping and food paradise. Stay tuned!!

ok..this is backdated and gonna be very long…be prepared :).

As I mentioned sometime ago, we had plans to go China year end due to the fact that office is closed for 11 days hehe…so we left KL on 25th and came back on 2nd Jan. Kids as usual with grandma and maid. Just 2 of us, the backpackers style.

Our route, Macau-Shenzen-Guangzhou-Zhuhai and back to Macau for flight.

This post gonna be for Macau, hope I have time by this week to put on rest of the places we went…I’m so so so busy with office work :(.

We took the 630am flight on Christmas day. The flight was on time, but departed late..cause there’s a lady whom I suspect overslept somewhere in the airport and the whole plane waited for her!!! So we departed late by 15mins…See the woman in the pic that’s sleeping, yah that’s the fella lahh…The flight was pretty long and boring. I managed to nap for a while, and took some pics of the clouds…very nice clouds..all lining up in rows :)

We arrived at the Macau airport close to 11am, the airport is OK lah, nothing special just by the seaside, can see a lot of land reclaiming in progress. The captain that flew us there was Daddy’s buddy captain, so I went into the cockpit and took some pics hehhe…

We took a cab and head straight to the hotel, OK, it’s a 3 star hotel and it’s so so small, the only word Daddy could say is *WALAUUUU*..he repeated this like so many times!!! What to do, backpackers mah, and christmas day, they charge double price, so this the only one we could afford. I booked the hotel from Internet, and for this room size we are paying RM200 a night on Christmas Day!!

We didn’t really know where exactly we were, so we called our friend’s cousin, Yen (whom is a local there) and she told us we are near town. We got ourselves a map, and started walking. Of course first thing, food!! So hungry. She recommended a shop nearby, which has good wan tan mee. After walking for quite some distance (their road signs are pretty tourist friendly) and asking around, finally we found the shop.

Another walauuuu….you gotta take number to eat!!! So we waited like 15 mins and our turn came. We ordered wan tan mee of course :P. And pork chop bun, supposed to be Macau good food, but not from this shop, but eat lah…then we saw next table order some fish skin, we also ordered hahah…the wantan mee, yummy!! Wantan was huge, and the prawn so fresh. The noodles so fine…aiyoo…I love it. The fish skin was nice too, it’s a cold dish, eaten with ginger and some soya sauce. Very crunchy taste as well hehe..

After satisfying our tummy, we started walking around..we were actually at Senado Square. Alot of shops there and so many people. St Paul and some other heritage is also around the corner. We went to one of the Church, St. Dominic’s Church..then continue wandering around. Then saw a stall selling *Malt sweets* (mak nga tong), my childhood love :). So we bought and ate it, very nice and soft…We also passed by a shop selling crocs, they had kids crocs shoes featuring disney, so cute but expensive lah. Macau is also famous with almond cookies…we see them all over the place!!!

After walking for 2 hours plus..we head back to hotel to take a rest. Our plan was to go for tea exhibition at Lou Lim Ieoc Garden, then at night we will go for street concert at St Paul’s Ruin. We took a bus and stopped nearby the Garden, and walked there only to find out that the tea house is under renovation…grrrr…nevertheless, the garden was pretty beautiful so we went around and took some pics (the people playing chess & old lady doing taichi)..then we decided to take a walk to this place we passed by earlier where we saw the cable car…didn’t know what was it, just kepoh…

We took the cable car up, just in time, they closes at 6pm!! Well, it was another park!! Really huge right on top of the hill..and then we found out that it was actually where the Guia Fortress & Lighthouse were!! And since Daddy likes Lighthouse, we decided to go for it. It was quite far to walk at the park itself, but the scenery was breathtaking. And the lighthouse was very beautiful too hehe..worth all the effort lah!!!

It was already dark when we arrived there (winter time, day is shorter). We took a walk downhill based on the map, St. Paul Ruins is not that far..so we just walk n walk n walk LOL. Took some photos of a supposingly sports center…and finally when we found St. Paul Ruins, we were cursing one lady that gave us wrong direction. It took us like more than 30mins to walk, luckily the weather was cooling, so it’s not that bad.

It looks beautiful..but nothing much to see lah..just a ruin LOL. We thought the concert hasn’t started, so we went downhill on the way to Senado Square and had McD haha…yes, we eat McD everywhere we go, cause that’s the safest thing and they have diff menu. So happen they have this rice burger (rice, patty/beef slices, rice). Yummy!!!

After that we walked back to St. Paul Ruins only to find out that the last concert was on 24th Dec..duhh!!! So we just sat there, took some pics and relax before walking back to hotel again. On our way, we saw this shop, very famous I think (It was so so crowded), selling bakwa..they have so many varieties, even Ostrich meat!!! We bought some for MIL to try.

Took a pic of Senado Square at night..beautiful eh with the lights deco. While walking back, we stopped by a chinese medicine hall, buy some sour plum (see the pic, they are so free hoh, arrange the sour plum so nicely haha).

Next day, we had a date with our private tour guide, Yen :). She met us at the hotel, and took us for porridge breakfast, walking distance from our hotel as well. Very famous porridge slurpss!!! It all comes with huge meatball…plus other stuff depending on what you order. I ordered meatballs with egg and some pig spare parts. Daddy had meatballs only.

After that, we hop on to Yen’s sister car and started our Macau day 2 tour. We told them where we went yesterday and they were like…whoaa..you walked from Guia Fort to St. Paul…it’s bloody far!!! LOL..backpackers mah, like dat lorr..

Our first destination, A-Ma Cultural Village. This is where the A-Ma statue is, supposingly the goddess of fisherman where most Macanese worship. From here, we can see the whole of Macau, since it’s the highest peak in Macau (if I remembered correctly). See the first pic, there are a row of houses by the seaside…very nice bungalow, we took a drive there later on on our way out hehe…

Next, we stopped at Coloane for some hot pipping-freshly-baked Portuguese Eggtarts, Lord Stow’s Bakery. I never tried Portuguese Eggtart before, even in KL though I’m an eggtart lover. We bought 4, and added some cinnamon powder on it. Across the road, there were actually some marble chalrs and table for us to sit and enjoy the eggtarts. Look at Daddy’s face hahaha…it’s really delicious..the egg melts in the mouth and the crust so crispy. I had 2 LOL.

Then Daddy wanted to get some salted fish for MIL, so we went to a shop nearby, supposingly all the tourist goes there for salted fish. Look at the oyster, so so huge!!! And also the stretch of salted fish hehe…

We walked around that area and there was another old heritage, forgotten what’s the name..I think it was a very old temple, like the first few in Macau. We then went for late lunch at one of the shop, famous also (see picture for the name). Ordered their kam hiong lala (macau style), salted fish steam with pork (macau style also) and steam fish and veg. Yum yum…the lala was different, more spicy. Minced pork with salted fish, very nice oso hehe…

On the way out from Coloane, we stopped by at the Black Sand beach…the sand is very black, naturally. They had BBQ seafood along the beach, I bought cuttlefish to munch (I’m eating so much aiyoo). Then we went to the Taipa Houses Museum. There were like 4-5 houses, depicting the Portugese lifestyle when they were in Macau. They also had some ceramic exhibition in place at the same time. The last pic is a photo of me with our tour guide, Yen. It’s really nice of her bringing us around. Next time she comes to KL, we must bring her around also hehe…

While we were there, we caught a couple taking wedding photos there hehe…I suppose this must be one of the good location for outdoor wedding shoot. And also a couple I think just proposed to each other!!! The girl was holding 99 roses!!! Both Yen and myself were like wahh wahh…how many roses ehh…LOL.

After that we head for our tea time snack..oops..not snack, it was quite heavy actually. Some fish soup with noodles, Yue Tong Fun. I quite like the soup, very peppery..nice to drink during winter..but Daddy didn’t quite like it hehe…besides the soup, I also ordered a bowl of noodles with pig’s ears.

Then we went to the harbour to get tickets to HK since next day we will be going there. Manage to stopped by Post Office to check out their FDC collection, but didn’t buy any though. We picked up Yen’s friend at the harbour as well (Japanese girl speaking English), and then head straight to this Church…ermm…can’t remember the name again. It was on top of the hill and we just made it before they close the gate haha…Apparently, the *Shanghai Beach - famous TVB series* was filmed here..so Daddy also did a Shanghai Beach pose..the church was where they got married..maybe??

There were also a water fountain at the foothill of the church. And of course, from there we can enjoy the scenery of Macau…looking at one of the bridge. Very nice hoh…We also passed by Stanley Ho’s house (first pic on the left) and I papparazzi-ed his house hahaha…

We head for dinner, by then I think about 8pm liao (it gets dark so early, we can hardly tell the time). The restaurant name is Hung Kee. Local foodfare.

Huge chicken wings, Pak cham kai with siu yoke, Corn soup with fish maw, Sotong with Celery (my favourite, cause I like celery hehe), Steam egg with crab meat and of course the exotic, worms cooked with dunno what, looks like omelette to me. There were 7-8 of us (whole of Yen’s family, 3 sisters), lucky thing we managed to finish the food.

After dinner, they took us to walk around Taipa Village. There were alot of shops selling food and they offer free sample for you to try. So if you are hungry and no money to eat, here’s where you go LOL. I like the jelly, very nice and different from what we have here (no photo, too busy eating).

We next head to Fisherman’s Wharf. This is the new tourist attraction spot in Macau, just opened in 2005. Ooh..I just love this place, it’s next to the Sands Casino Hotel, and the lights at night makes this place very beautiful.

It has got loads of shops depicting different designs (Holland, Japan, American, etc.). The shops were either restaurant, hotel or souvenir shop. It even has a Roman Amphitheatre. We spent more than 45 minutes here, admiring the place…love the lights and the cooling breeze.

On our way back to hotel, Yen’s sister drove pass Lisboa, the famous casino. Apparently, there will be more Las Vegas casinos opened in Macau by end of this year. One of the new one is Sands (you can see it when landing from the plane). The other ones are still in construction, but it’s huge!!! One of it has a river insider the hotel itself…whoaa…and to counter this, the old Lisboa came out with a new Lisboa haha..just opposite the old Lisboa, huge!!! The pic on top is the new Lisboa, still under construction but they already putting on lights. And on top of it, it’s a Y shape hotel..so tall!!

So that’s all for Macau. If you ask me if I’ll go back again, definitely, since we didn’t go into the casino LOL. Wait till all the new casino is up lah, then we go again hehe..with MIL maybe. I enjoyed the food there and the people are friendly too.

Next day, our destination is 1/2 day HK, 1/2 day Shenzen. Stay tuned ;).

Christmas 2006

OK, there are lots of backdated post..lets start with Christmas.

We were not in KL for Christmas, so we celebrated Christmas 2 days earlier on the 23rd Dec. That was the only day Daddy is not working.

We went to the Curve in the afternoon to meet up Daddy’s friend from Guangzhou. We only took Faythe with us since Vyktore boy was still recovering from his UTI (I’ll blog bout it later). I really like the deco @ the Curve, very nice. My favourite colour haha..so of course took the opportunity to snap pics :).

After lunch, I was supposed to meet up with Egghead to get some work done, but since it was still early, we loomed around the flea market at the Curve. Then we saw this tattoo stall and Daddy wanted to get Faythe one. So we let her chose the picture she wants and the artist did the work.

She was very good, didn’t move an inch…and when the work was done, she kept staring at it LOL…We asked her if she wants one more, she refused hahaha…

Later in the evening, we went to MIL’s house for christmas dinner. Since there are only so few in the family (SIL & family went to Singapore), we invited some friends as well and we had carolers like last year. MIL ordered alot of food, there were 2 roast turkey, roast lamb, roast beef, cold cut(from us), fried beehoon, nasi lemak, desserts, cakes…(sorry no pics, too busy eating hahaha).

And just for the occasion, MIL bought Santa Claus baju for the grandchildren. She got it from UK during her trip there in Oct. And they fit just nice on the 2 lil fellas…hahah…both of them looks so cute esp Vyktore (who looks lost, dunno what’s happening)

Vyktore in his Santa suit…his looks tells us that he’s confused why is there so many people and he’s dressed in this suit hahaha…

Faythe in Santa suit…happily eating sausages that came with the roast turkey. She had so much of food that night!!!

Later, the carolers came at about 8pm+. After the carolers left, Faythe happily opened her Christmas present. We call it off early on that day since Daddy had to work the next day and we also have to pack for our trip.
