I can’t believe that another 2 weeks has gone and I haven’t got time to update the blog since I came back from Jakarta. And you know what, I’m travelling again next week :|.  Seriously, all these travelling drives me nuts: packing & unpacking, changing of money, away from the kids, all the prep work I have to do in office, and the list goes on….

Even if I travel for leisure (which we just did last week for 3 days), I’m so afraid, cause when I came back, I had to clear almost 400 emails, which explains why I’m still in office NOW!! Clearing up my mailbox, 1GB also letup..kanasai betul.

Daddy has came back and gone back to VN…Life goes back to normal after this, with photoshoots in between the weekends. Great that Dec we only work 4 days for almost every week, at least got a breakkie.

Kids started their school holiday this week, they had their school party last Friday, I haven’t even download the photos from the camera :(.

Not forgetting, my ever “so-good” princess cambodia everyday comes and tell me:

  • I thought today no bla bla bla
  • I thought madam bla bla bla
  • I forgot bla bla bla….
  • I no see bla bla bla…
  • Not me bla bla bla…..

Until I got so fedup, I tell her why not today you thought you are a princess, so today you don’t need to work? OR why not today I forgot you are my maid, so u better get out of my house since I don’t know you? Memang vomit blood. She had a good lecture fr me over the weekend cause she actually left used pad in one of the bag, together with her some food and children’s clothes which she intended to bring to MIL house…..WTF!!! Really adds up to the stress level.

There’s gonna be a string of paid post coming up, as I’m clearing some backlogs, please bear with me. I’m trying to post something up sometime this week hopefully.

Year end, we will be going over to Vietnam to celebrate Christmas & New Year there…of course, I packed in 2 days of work at Vietnam as well, since I’m managing Vietnam.

Till I update the blog again……here’s a photo that has nothing to do with this post, but I thought it’d be nice to have a photo posted instead of just putting in text for this post (Photographer BLOG Syndrome - every post must have photo LOL).

Vyktore: Pretending to be Bob Builder. This lil boy now is a chatter box. He talks non stop and speaks out loud and clear.

Faythe: Doing a jump shot for me on one of those days that she’s in the mood for some photos. She’s grown so much and turning 5 in Jan. Can’t believe how time flies. She’s very tall as well, I’m getting worried if she’s gonna be taller than me :|.

> Why buy every year <

Whenever I come across Insurance agents, I get headache. Seriously, no offence to insurance agents. But they seem to be perpetually asking you if you’ve updated your plan so on and so forth. Sometimes it’s pretty annoying. Probably that what makes people feels paranoid whenever you tell them you are an insurance agent. Why do I need to buy insurance every year? Isn’t the sum insured currently sufficient? Probably they should introduce a whole life insurance plan, that way don’t need to buy every year.

Are you a coffee lover? I’m not!! Yes I hate coffee. I hate the smell, I hate everything about coffee. Be it expresso, Capresso, neat, you name it I hate it. Seriously, I don’t quite understand what is so nice about the coffee, cause they taste bitter! They are not cheap as well. Good coffee can cost you alot of money to even take a sip. I’d rather go for fruit juice which anytime it’s more healthy.

I was away on the last week of October for my biz trip in Jakarta & Bandung. This is my 1st time setting my foot in Jakarta. I’ve been warned about the *Hunt-for-Malaysian* Campaign. I’ve been warned about the bomb threats. I’ve been warned about taxi rides. I’ve received so many warnings from Daddy. Good thing is for this trip, I travel with another colleague of mine. Hence we can look after each other at times, though not all the time since we are both gonna be there to execute different things.

this is how bad the jam is. And it’s only 6pm in evening!! The traffic jam is on both side of the highway. All the way, I don’t know how many km seriously.

Seriously, there isn’t much time for sight seeing. I stayed in Shangri-La Jakarta. Very nice and probably the safer hotel around. Office is just walking distance. Yes!! our office is just next to the hotel. What a blessing. But the problem is, I only go to office for 1/2 the day. Rest of the time, I’m either at the Service Centre or Resellers. Means I’m on the road. Means I have to waste my time stuck in the traffic jam.

Getting from 1 place to another takes at least 30mins. Even though it’s a nearby location. That’s how bad the condition is. Then funny thing about their roads is. They have this 2 lane road next to the normal road, which they call like fast lane. Only cars with 3 occupants above can hop on to this fast lane. Along the fast lane, there are many people standing by the roadside. Wonder why? If your car has only 2 occupants, you can just pick one of the person on the road as a *temporary-passenger* so that you can use the fast lane without any problem. You just have to pay them 1USD. Then they get off once the fast lane ends.

Our day starts at 9am, and usually ends around 6pm Jakarta time. By 6pm when you get on the road, the streets are like 10pm at night. It gets dark very early here!! So there isn’t much to see or talkabout, except that I took alot photos of the food I ate haha…

When I reach hotel, it’s probably 7pm or so. We usually settle in the hotel, except for 1st night we went to eat at a local restaurant recommended by our local colleague.

Satay Senayan. A local satay chain restaurant. It’s packed!!

We flew in on Sunday, and after check in it was already close to 6pm. We went to eat Satay at a restaurant for dinner.

After Sunday, it was work all the way. On Wednesday we went to Bandung, again to audit the Service Centre. We had a bit of time after we finish off, that was the only time I managed to do some shopping at Factory Outlets.

We head home on Thursday noon. Didn’t go into office that day itself, and next day was already flooded with mails to clear, work to follow up and what nots.

Shangri-La Hotel. That where I stay. Took this photo while walking back to the hotel on the 1st night. Next, Hyatt Hotel. Super huge. Somewhere downtown. Took the photo during our car ride to have dinner.

But seriously, I prefer to go Jakarta than Vietnam. I really hate the roads in Vietnam. With all those bikes honking, it really makes me sick. Unless I’m on a bike, then it’s not so bad. At least Jakarta, you still sit in the car. And I didn’t have any car sick..pheww…I get car sick all the time when I’m in Vietnam. SUCKS :(.

My next biz trip is scheduled next month, 2 trips indeed!! Lets hope I don’t need to travel in Jan/Feb. Then resume travelling again in March.

Here are more photos taken during the trip, alot of food photos. Hold your saliva!!

Waiting for Aerotrain.

I got pretty bored as I arrived in Airport early and my colleague took ages to come LOL. So I started taking weird pictures of my sandals, my phone, people’s bag and what have you.

Don’t have an Ipod, Handphone with MP3 will do. Maybe I need an Ipod for my Christmas Present. *Ahem*

Satay. Served on a bed of peanut sauce. There’s actually charcoal burning at the bottom to keep the sauce warm. Simply delicious. The sauce taste like melted peanut butter haha…

Sup Buntut. Served with fried emping & fried carrots & potatoes. Nothing to shout about. I think my ABC soup taste better.

Fish, Sudanese style. This one is nice :).

Taufu with egg. I love this dish. Very appetizing.

On Sunday, there were alot of weddings in the hotel. We saw this at the lobby. So weird right, they congratulate the couple by giving flower arrangement like this. Reminds me of funeral more than wedding.

Day 1. I had to visit the Service Centre. Before that, they brought me to have lunch in a Chinese Restaurant. Nothing special, taste just like KL Chinese Food.

Roast duck, non fattening.

Spinach with soup & lots of century egg & salted egg. Yummy!! Fruits served on shaved ice. Creative I’d say?

Taufu & mushroom.

Day 1, at night we went to eat Sundanese food again with our colleague. Decided not to post too many food photo :p. On the left, LV Advertisement, super huge at one of the shopping mall. On the right, a locally branded beer, Bintang.

One of the dish that caught our attention is the fried taufu. It’s stuffed with prawns & veg. Our favourite.

Day 2, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Buffet style!! This the only photo I took inside the hotel as they stopped me from taking photos later on.

Day 2, earlier I visited the IT Mall. Our Lowyat equivalent, only thing it’s older. On the right, that’s my colleague that travel with me. He’s posing outside the hotel lobby, next to the scanning device. We go thru this everyday without fail. That’s how tight the security is. 1st scan, the taxi entering the hotel. 2nd scan, the lobby.

This is lobby to the office. See, there’s a scanner as well waiting for you.

Starbucks coffee in Jakarta. This is just outside the office building.

Day 3, Bandung. This is where we had lunch.

A man doing apam balik Jakarta Style. In Green colour!!

And beside the apam balik, there’s a man preparing some taufu with some sauce. Forgot what’s the name, but I ate the taufu.

Some ulam served during our lunch. I like their sambal. In KL you only have 1 type of sambal. In Jakarta, you have all sorts of sambal. You name it, they have it.

Chicken cooked with kunyit.

A house nearby to the reseller in Bandung.

A view from my room. That’s an apartment right in the middle of the city. On the right, something that caught my attention, look at the word Male Print. Only for guys isit :P.

That’s all. Seriously, I don’t mind going back to Jakarta, minus the traffic jam.  The air is also not very clean, probably due to the no. of vehicles on the road. I wonder how often I have to clean my air conditioner filter if I live here. In KL I have to do it every 2 weeks. Probably I’ll be coming back here soon, maybe 3 months time. But next trip will surely be Jakarta and a few more cities, not just Bandung like this round.

I still remember when Kipling was 1st launched in Malaysia many many years ago, I used to admire their products. It’s like something expensive which I couldn’t afford at that time and everyone was crazy over it. If you own a Kipling, it’s really a big deal. But overtime, I guess with all the brands flooding into Malaysia, it has become less popular. Probably I’m now older and their design doesn’t quite suit my taste, but it’s still great for young adults.

Last weekend was Halloween. Usually I don’t celebrate Halloween. But this year, MIL bought some costumes for them to dress up for Halloween. Since she’s staying in apartment temporarily, it’s fun to bring the kids around for a trick or treat at the neighbours.

Faythe were dressed as skeleton jack. Her all time favourite character. In fact she’s been practicing her trick or treat at home. But when the day comes, she’s a bit shy and dare not greet the neighbours.

Vyktore, actually we got him a bumble bee costume. But on that day he went berserk and refuse to wear *roll eyes*. So he wore his Thomas & Friends Shirt. That’s it.

The cousins each wore a Thomas & Friends Top & Skeleton Jack as well.

The kids for sure enjoyed themselves giving out treats to everyone. How did you celebrate your Halloween?

Oh, and on Sunday, we went to 1u, there were Halloween Deco as well. And there was a witch walking around. Faythe took picture with her, with my phone camera.

Nov 3

..have time to blog about something before I depart for my trip last week. But I’m totally wrong! I was so so so busy preparing for the trip, co-ordinating for training that is happening to KL, and many other things that at 1 point I asked myself. What’s going on MAN. Why is there so many things happening at the same time?

Seriously, I’m pretty much exhausted at times that I can’t even think straight. Workload is up to the neck (or maybe up to the head). Each time I take off or travel for work, the email just get more n more. Each day I’m getting like at least 50 mails, which 1/2 of them needs my attention.

Where did I go last week? I was at Jakarta & Bandung to pay a visit to my service partners. It’s really an eye opener. If you think KL is jam, wait till you see Jakarta. You’d probably die sitting in endless traffic jam there LOL. The jam starts right from the morning till late night. Even during weekends, there are cars everywhere.  Don’t forget the high security at all places all time, thanks to all the bomb threats. I shall post some of my photos from Jakarta/Bandung soon, lets hope it’s not gonna take long.

So where did we left last? My Phuket trip still…..Gosh….I have so much to catch up, including our last weekend Halloween Trick or Treat Celebration. Yikes, photos still in the camera!! I think even my camera is feeling the stress cause he’s working day in day out like me LOL.

OK, I’m pretty exhausted with words for now. I’ve been awake since 530am to catch up with some office work. I’m pretty done with it, thought it’s best to post this up before it becomes too *OLD* to be posted.

Here are more photos of the buildings & architecture of Phuket. If you look carefully, it reminds you alot of Penang & Malacca. I didn’t arrange them in sequence (too lazy).

love the contrasting door against the pink background.

an old shop selling clothes or was it a tailor

a temple we visited

another temple we visited. There are plenty of Chinese Temples in Phuket. That’s why it feels so like in Penang.

Signboard in the temple.

I took this photo cause of the contrasting banner against the white washed wooden house.

Bridal shop.

Something that we can never miss when we travel in ASIAN countries…Hawkers on bike selling food/drinks.

I can’t recall if this a restaurant or boutique, but I like how the windows. Look, both sides are different LOL.

Another view of Classic Barn.

A shop selling 2nd hand books.

Aged windows

On On Hotel. Would you stay here?

Seat for *raja sehari*?

Window grille. Looks like design from the 70s. My parents’ old house has quite similar design as this.

Anyone wants to buy a Honda Civic here :P. Nah…they only sell bikes over here. I didn’t spot any car.

Love the outstanding lime green shop against the rest of the old shops.

Soi Romanee. I lurve all the arches, the door….simply everything lah..

Soi Romanee…colourful right!! I must go back here again to take some photos in my next trip cause I didn’t have enough of it arghh…

Grille….very old style.

Lock.

AND more locks…

more aged buildings

different designs of buildings

and more…

and more…not forgetting the lady selling feather duster :P

Contrasting effect of the buildings. The pic on my left is one of my favourite cause so happen the monk is there and it sort of matches the colour of that shop.

On the left, a restaurant. That picture is so so so old, probably taken like 60s?

Another temple we frequent during our visit.

more buildings in Phuket

Clock tower in Phuket town.

Need I say anymore…

Ahh…I’m so so so in love with the architecture of each building. I couldn’t get enough of it man. In the end I have to give up, cause Daddy says it’s all the same.

Daddy decided to leave me behind cause I’m too slow LOL.

A few more buildings to go.

A shop used to sell Panasonic products I supposed?

Soi Romanee. Nice ya this street!!

I think the one on left is Soi Romanee. The one on right isn’t.

Whoa….finally it’s the last photo. If you spend a lot of time admiring the architecture in Phuket, you probably can’t finish the town in 1 day. We took like 1/2 a day to comb the whole town.

Guess what, we are going back to Phuket this month. This round with the kids. Lets hope I won’t be taking more photos of the buildings.
