OK, this is crazy…but it’s really getting too much liao…
Last week, I heard from my colleague that two of our engineers (guy) were robbed while they were walking back from PBD (damansara govt office) to the office. Apparently, there’s this motor that came to them and tried to rob them (nothing to snatch so rob lorr)..And one of the guy kena whack with helmet…probably he resisted in giving in to the snatch thief. The other guy managed to escape, he ran to ALI MAJU (the famous mamak at PBD) and managed to get one of the team lead to help. The team lead sent the injured fella to hospital and lodge police report.
Today, just an hour ago, a colleague told me that another case happen just this week. But this one is very serious. Seems that the guy was beaten up pretty badly, now in ICU, internal bleeding. Wahliao..since when snatch thief has become road bullies too!!
Now for me, I walk everyday from that PBD parking (I park at PBD covered parking, below Ong Ka Ting’s office) to the office in the morning. The reason for me to walk:
- traffic is real bad, sometimes you walk is even faster
- can exercise at the same time mah…distance maybe about 100-200m
I carry 2 bags sometimes, 1 laptop bag, 1 milk bag. Both of them are backpacks, not sling ones. And to ensure I don’t get snatched, I’ll put my handbag into my laptop bag. So the chances of snatching is less..But looks liken other than snatching, they will rob and whack victims…sighh…like that how to go to work lehh…stress stress..
Gotta add this to the list of *why I need to work from home* and submit to my boss so that I can work from home more and avoid this kinda mishap on me
When all these happen, it is best to install surveillance camera. Â Many of us don’t realize the benefits of surveillance cameras and other home security video cameras. When your home is protected by a surveillance camera system, you get this feeling of security knowing your home is secure

Bring pepper spray, alarm or some thing can “short” the robber along??

OMG!!! u must be more careful! ayoooo…shouldn’t reveal where u park leh..u nvr know might have some pintai ppl around leh..(hubby always remind me…)but then hor…we no worries one..just pray la, angels will protect, come robber sure flee! muahahahahaha!!
best is buy a baseball bat, hockey stick or even a fencing saber then carry around from car to office n vice versa. hang a whistle or those portable alarm thingy around your neck and start making noise when u hear a bike coming miles away. buy mini pepper spray to keep in pocket. if they get near you, attack first, if mistaken, talk and apologise later hahaha! a girl’s gotta do wat a girl’s gotta do! my cousin’s hubby got stabbed weeks b4 his wedding!

Crime is rampant everywhere now including KK. KK used to be quite safe, but murders and robbery is starting to get worst now. Maybe by the time our daughter grew up, the world is no longer a nice place to stay. Gotta migrate to another planet 🙂

This is really bad wor…. You must be more careful when walking wor…. What Jesslyn say is true, imagine even policeman also a snatch thief, then somemore say that policeman no money to study but want to study, pay not enough, so become snatch thief, so sad ler the society now… Seriously, wrong logic, all LAZY ppl’s way out of problem…. 🙁

Jazzmint, be very careful when walking… bring an umbrella or any ‘weapon’ and make sure ppl can see it, then it minimise risk, cuz they will be scared and know u are prepared….
Oh,you should becareful when you walk to your office, buy something to hold that can terrify them.
Tips: Carry a baseball bat with you (Tesco) or a long umbrella. The snatch thief will stay far away from you. Wow, KL is real bad these days.

Snatch thief will only attack when there’s clear path for them to flea after snatching.
In anyway at all, be alert of your surrounding when you walk, okie. If can, walk in a group.

I heard that carrying backpack is also dangerous as these ba*****s will pull from behind…

Good to know about this incident from your blog. Although we work in the same office, but my colleague and I seldom get this kind of update, probably our group is smaller. I too, like you, walk from the carpark. A colleague of mine actually came in very early and he now starts to worry after knowing this. I guess we have more valid reasons to work from home now 🙂

Aiks— snatch thief happened right in front of me several weeks back: my colleague’s money pouch was snatched when we were trying to cross a junction in SS2. Bring umbrella and stick it to the fella if it happens to you…

Angeleyes is right, last time it used to be sling bags, now bag packs, they also target. Be careful & if possible don’t do the same route everyday.

My kolig lagi keng. Kena rob in Taman Megah. They make him removed his pants and run away with his pants. That way, my kolig can’t chase after them. They leave his pants about few meters away.
