Mini Project 1: Kids Room

I’ve been working on so many mini project (as in trying to beautify and sort out the house), this is finally 1 that has completed thus far.

Yeah!! After 4 years, we’ve managed to move them out of our room into their own room for now. Since both of them are just 4 & turning 3, we thought it’s best to keep them in same room for now till Vyktore is much older then we can move him to his own room.

It started with sawing of the bunk bed which we got last year which we didn’t quite successfully moved them out from our bed cause they will crawl to our king size bed every night without fail!! So we decided it’s time already. We were supposed to get some help from Chanel’s Hubby to help saw the bed, but Daddy last minute decided to do it himself, with the help of maids of course.

Over 2 days, we managed to transform that room into a kids room. Now all their toys are in the room, most of which are stored in ikea shelfs. Also have a book shelf for their books, a table for Faythe to do work, and 2 carpets. Notice all those tables, cabinets and stuff, those things we shifted out and clear the whole room. I’ll post more photos later when I have chance to take them, or once my Mini Project 2 is ready ;) .

How did they transition?

Well, right after we moved them, 1st thing is the bedsheet!! We changed Vyktore’s bedsheet to Wall-E (got it from Akemiuichi for 70%). Then Faythe had her bedsheet changed too, to the one with Disney Princess (from Tesco). The kids were thrilled with the bedsheet, especially Vyktore LOL. And because we saw the bed in such a way that one is higher than the other, they had loads of fun climbing up and down.

So far, it’s been almost 2 weeks they sleep in their own room. Faythe is still scared and wants me to sleep with her. So I usually sleep in and sometimes I sleep there till next morning :| . But Vyktore, to my surprise, he adapted really well. There were even nights when he slept there alone since Faythe overnite at MIL’s place.

There was only 1 night so far that they both woke up crying and walking to the shared bathroom instead to our room LOL, cause we kept the bathroom lights on in case Faythe wants to go toilet.

Now we are so glad to have our room back all by ourselves. But at times I feel so empty. We still have this golden rule, once a while they can come over and bump in to our King Size bed. I’m so gonna miss those moment, but I’m really glad that I get 1/2 the bed back, not the 1/4 I’ve been having for the pass 4 yrs. That ends my backache problem :P .

Our Anniversary Lunch

In the previous post, I mentioned that we booked lunch @ a Japanese Restaurant. Actually we’ve wanted to go to Umaiya Japanese Restaurant during my birthday back in February, but it was fully booked :( . Hence we postponed it till this round. Good thing it was not fully booked.

Why I booked this place, I’ve heard so much bout it from my dearest colleague that I must go try myself someday. Moreover it’s just 10mins drive from home :) .

There are actually 2 Umaiya Japanese Restaurant, 1 in Damansara Perdana, 1 in Damansara Uptown. I booked the one at Uptown.

We were there at 1130am, 2 adults & 2 kids. Yah..not a romantic lunch :P . The buffet starts from 1130-230pm.

Being 1st timer, we were actually unsure how the ordering go about. What I liked about this buffet is it’s ala carte, and they only prepare the food when you order. So it’s freshly made :) . Nice right!!

We ordered so many sushi that we stuffed ourselves silly. And I must say all of them deserves two thumbs up. Even Daddy keeps saying it’s yummy kekeke..he seldom say this whenever we eat Japanese food. And because of that, we didn’t manage to order any grill fish, which I saw another table did. We only ordered the beef on the hot plate and boy that was delicious. I finished almost the whole plate :P .

Another thing to mention is the sashimi. Each qty you order comes in pairs of 2 pieces of thick sliced fish. So juicy, slurp slurp. We saw this table, they ordered a giant bowl of sashimi (mix of salmon, tuna & white fish). Giant as in like 30 pieces of each fish :| .

Oh not forgetting free flow of beer for beer lovers hehe…

As for the kids, we ordered Garlic Fried Rice for Vyktore. Faythe had Chawanmushi, some sushi, a whole bowl of edamame and or course macha ice cream for them.

Kids below 3 pays RM10 only, for kids above 3-12 pays half the price. Adult is charged at 45++.

I am sure I’m going back there again as the other day actually I haven’t finish eating, but cause the kids were turning the restaurant upside down and Daddy was already full, so we went off at 1pm.

Hot Air Balloon Fiesta: 22nd March

before this gets backdated, I thought I better post it up.

Over the weekend, I came to know about the KL 1st Hot Air Balloon Fiesta which was held in Putrajaya. Yah…you read me, Putrajaya again..Don’t we have enough of this place :P .

Anyway, i thought to bring the kids and have a look what hot air balloon is all about. And to avoid the traffic, I decided to go during the morning session which starts at 745am!! We were supposed to meet Sue and family there, but she decided not to go, so only myself, the kids & Cheryl came along too.

I went to loan a 70-300mm Nikkor lense from my sifu, but since I was so near to the Hot Air Balloon Launching Pad, it was rather useless. Only those shots taken with the balloon on air was with the zoom lense. Those on the ground were better off with the Tamron.

Faythe was excited as usual and she even took some photos with our point n shoot camera. But she was a bit upset we couldn’t sit the hot air balloon :P .

Vyktore as usual, was afraid cause the balloon was so huge. He didn’t even want to stand, just cling on to the maid.

The event was short, by 830am, everything was done. We bought 2 halogen balloons (similar to those we got in Vietnam during Tet) each for Faythe & Vyktore.

I’d say there’s nothing special bout this event, apart from the odd shapes of a few balloons :P . Good thing we didn’t need to pay for it.

Our Up & About

(I hope Vyktore’s face didn’t scare you cause his mouth so huge LOL)

Wow…are we still celebrating Faythe’s birthday LOL…seems like that post took forever for the next updates. Seriously, I’ve been so busy to even sit down and think straight what I want to blog.

This whole week was a mad mad “photoshopping”. We’ve been engaged (two-pixels) for photoshoots over every weekend since like Christmas…Crazy rite. So I’ve been caught up with photo editing at nite, when the kids are asleep. Day time busy at work. Well do we call it good news or bad news. Seriously, I love my current job (oh, I didn’t even announce I got a job rite…*bleah*) and I also seriously love the photography business as I realise that it could actually be something that I’ve always wanted to do but never got to do it (due to the passion found so late, if I had found this passion earlier I would have been some renowned photographer by know – self flattering).

If I have to choose which one I’d go for, seriously, I don’t know. So there’s still no concrete decision if I’m ever gonna quit my full time job (which I have a love & hate relationship with) to chase the passion of my life. Anyways, so I’m still gonna be running around on 2 sides till god knows when.

So what’s been happening with the 2 kiddos at home:

  1. School coming into 3rd week before the CNY break. Faythe is doing very well as the *BIG SISTER*, she reassures me she’ll look after the brother.
  2. Vyktore, we do worry bout his speech, but I can see it slowly coming, we just gotta be a bit more patient. His latest addition is pek-kui. Can you guess what is that LOL…And he calls me Meh…yikes!!
  3. They run riots at home every weekend and weeknites, by asking me to draw, to sing, to read, to sing, to sing, to sing..whoa..alot of singing..and also to play of course

So what’s for CNY? I’ve done my CNY shopping 2 weeks ago. Today went to Petaling Streeet for a while with Sue and we went drooling over the red lanterns haha..so I bought 1 for my house. It’s soooo beautiful (later I take pic and upload ok). It’s a lantern made of cloth, and has silk flowers stuck on it, protruding outside the lantern, nice eh ;) . And I went to buy 2 more pieces of CNY clothes for the 2 kids!!

Are we all ready for CNY? Of course. I’m starting to pack my bag, yeah you read me right, we won’t be in town this round :) . Celebrating in Vietnam with Daddy this year & my Dad too. Then when we come back, Daddy comes home too. Yay!! Lets hope I get to see some interesting stuff while we are in Vietnam.

I think I’ll be taking a breakkie (very likely) till CNY. So Gong Xi Fatt Chai to all my readers.

Faythe turns 4

Today is Faythe’s 4th birthday. Since Daddy is not around, we didn’t plan for any big celebration. She wanted a Little Mermaid cake, so I ordered 1 with the Mermaid design on it and she was so delighted.

We had dinner at Tropicana among the family members.

Time really flies watching my children grow. I seriously can’t believe she’s already 4 years old.

Happy Birthday my girl.

05 Jan 09

I must admit that I have alot of backdated post, which I’m gonna post it up later..to the correct date (time travel LOL). But this has to be the most updated…

First day of school today and how did my 2 precious children fare? I’d rate it as 80% not bad…well at least they didn’t cry :)

Faythe was all ready for school as usual after much psyching from me. I bought her a Princess Bag which has little mermaid and she loves it (she’s very crazy over little mermaid now). I’ve wrapped all her books and brought it along. Got those books during the orientation on Sat.

Vyktore, since he’s only joining the 3 yrs old class, there aren’t any books, so we still use his old bag, which he didn’t like it last time, but he likes it now. He actually asked me to put on for him and ran around the house with the bag at home (probably he saw Asimo had a bag, so he was OK with the bag LOL).

When arriving school, they were both OK. I left Faythe with the class teacher and she was fine and started playing with toys. She didn’t even look for me.

As for Vyktore he froze when he saw so many children. I brought him to the class and stayed there. Got my maid to stand at the side and watch him. He settled down and started playing toys.

The school very cool yah..1st day so many toys LOL.

Faythe was OK. She followed the class to wash hand and had her bread. I was there for a while to make sure she was OK and reassure her I’m around, just watching over Vyktore.

Meanwhile, Vyktore got restless and he even attempt to open the classroom door and runaway. Teacher manage to catch hold of him hahaha…He got pretty restless for not able to runaround towards the end he wanted to escape from our maid.

Class was dismissed at 10:30 and I showed the kids the auntie that’s gonna fetch them tomorrow after school. Fingers all crossed and lets hope everything is OK on 2nd day.

Better shower time

Sometime ago, I remember I wrote bout how Vyktore hated shower. Each time when it’s shower time, he’d whine and refuse to get in.

Things has changed now. He so love bathing. Even if he just came home from MIL’s place and taken his shower, he still insist to bath with me. He will pull his clothes and sign to me he wants to shower too. He will throw big tantrum if we don’t allow him :| .

You know why? Cause he discovered our bathroom have this sprinkler like mode LOL. I once turn on for him and he was so happy dancing away in the shower with the water spraying all over. He got so addicted to this that everytime I change to this sprinkler mode, he will scream in joy and tip toe and dance haha…

Kids..don’t they just love playing water!!

Sharing the CUP

I love watching kids feeding each other and sharing food. It’s really a beautiful sight. I’m so into mushy stuff like this LOL. So whenever I chance upon my kids sharing their food, I always love to admire that moment and snap some photos.

It all started with Faythe drinking soup. Then Vyktore came by, wanted to try. So Faythe gave him some. He got addicted and keep wanting to drink. Faythe wanted to share with him, but at the same time, she wants to savour for herself too.

Look at how Vyktore peep at the cup to make sure Faythe doesn’t finish the soup LOL.

In the end, he give up waiting forĀ  Faythe to offer him, he instead took over the cup and drink it himself LOL.

It’s not often this happen. Sometimes, Faythe doesn’t want to share her food with Vyktore and will scream when he takes from her. But Vyktore being so thick skin, just continue taking her food LOL.

Kitchen Socks

Faythe loves to play with my kitchen gloves. Everytime when I cook at the kitchen, she’ll gladly come next to me and offer herself to wear the gloves.

One day while I was upstairs bathing. She was downstairs. Then after shower I came out. She was walking around the house with the gloves (as a socks :| ).

Look at her cheeky face. She was laughing and enjoying herself so much because she successfully sneaked the gloves into her feet while I weren’t watching.

Time for me to get a pair of new kitchen gloves.

Ide…Ide…

That’s what Vyktore says each time we go up the bed. He will lie down and put his legs under the comforter. Then he will try to pull the heavy comforter and tell me: Ide Ide…Ide..

He actually wants to play hide n seek. I introduced him this game one night and he got addicted. He loves it when both of us hide under the comforter. He will keep himself still under the comforter and wait.

Then Faythe will pretend to be the monster and come to the bedside. Then she’ll flip open the comforter and Vyktore will get up and scream in joy. Then he will laugh and laugh and dance around the bed.

And the stint repeats itself for many many times.

Sometimes I’ll be the one hiding. I’ll go hide in our bathroom (behind the shower screen). Then they can’t find me, they’ll open the door and look around the house then I come out from behind and call them. They got so thrilled and excited.
