Taking orders

Sometimes while playing masak masak, Faythe would walk up to me and take orders.

Faythe: mama, what you want to eat?
Mommy: ermm…I want potatoes….
Faythe: I don’t have potatoes…
Mommy: I want..tomato..
Faythe: But I don’t have…order something else..
Mommy: LOL..why everything don’t have one..What do you have?
Faythe: I got eggs, I got choi (vegetables), I got tungku (mushroom), I got sausage..bla bla bla…
Mommy: OK Lah, give me eggs & tung ku
Faythe: OK…she scribble some lines on her lil notebook and went away..

Faythe: Mama, here’s your food…
Mommy: Oh thanks…and what about drinks?
Faythe: Oh..what drink you want?
Mommy: Hmm..I want tea..
Faythe: OK, she went and get me tea.

Oopss…

While I was busy doing my work…

I gave Vyktore his bottle of milk before he sleeps…

So I left him on the sofa to drink his milk…

Usually he’d play and drink his milk slowly.

So I didn’t bother checking on him.

But after a while, he was pretty quiet…so I turn around and guess what…

.

.

.

.

Yes…he fell asleep while drinking milk!!

I couldn’t help but laugh because of the position he’s at.

Even after I remove the milk bottle from him, his hand is still in the same pose…LOL..

Then he moved a bit and cry out loud..cause he realised the bottle is missing. Then I patted him, and he slept again.

Silly Play

Faythe likes to engage in silly play sometimes. Instead of playing with her masak masak properly. She will use her masak masak to do other stuff.

Like walking on her toys…

Placing her toys on the head…

The other day, she placed donuts on her eyes and walk around:

Faythe: Mama, you see…I got donut eyes
Mommy: rolls eyes & snap her photo

Faythe: Mama, you see…now I have pizza eyes (places 2 pieces of pizza on her eyes)
Mommy: roll eyes & laugh…

Mommy…Ah boy…

If you think my house is always peaceful n quiet, my 2 kids play together very well…think again :P .

Having 2 toddlers with a not so big gap, they love to play with each other and they love to compete within each other.

Faythe says:
Mommy, ah boy take my book….
Mommy, ah boy step on my leg….
*Screams*, Mommy, ah boy drink my milo!!
Mommy, ah boy spoil my toys…
Mommy, ah boy wet the bed (he loves to leave drool marks on the bed)
Mommy, ah boy sit on me..
Mommy, ah boy bulldoze head butt me…

Vyktore says:
*Screams*….Faythe takes his toys…
*Screams*….Faythe snatch his toys…
*Screams*….Faythe took his book…
*Screams*….Faythe didn’t let him eat the snacks…
*Screams*…Faythe refuse to share bath toys with him…

Mommy says:
Vyktore, why you sit on Jie JIe…cannot!! Go sayang Jie JIe…
It’s ok Faythe, you go read another book…
Vyktore, why you spoil Jie Jie’s toys…naughty boy..hmmm…
Faythe, give him back his toys..now!!

Mommy not gila yet, but being a referee within the 2 is tough. Moreover Daddy is not around most of the time. Sometimes I’ll just ignore them and nod my head. Sometimes I’ll just say, OK…and distract them away. But sometimes I just have to laugh cause they are so drama LOL.

I know that sometimes Vyktore is just seeking attention. He’d go screaming and look at me. If I pretend I didn’t see, he will walk closer to me and scream, and closer and closer. Till he beh tahan (cause I still pretend I didn’t see) he’s use his hand and hold my head and look at him and scream LOL.

Vyktore: 2 years 5 months

backdated post.

Vyktore turned 2years 5months last week.

Dietary:
Milk: 8oz x3-4 times a day. After milk, he’d still want to eat or even finish Faythe’s unfinished milo :| .
Solids: He’s more open to solids now, not only Fried Rice, he eats Noodles too. But he doesn’t fancy western food except french fries.

Teeth:
Still same, 16 I think.

For the record:

Speech: He has a few words added to his vocabulary now. But when we ask him to call us, he’d just look at our mouth how we talk, then he laugh and runaway…

  • Ead – head
  • Eg – leg
  • And – hand
  • Tee – teeth
  • Mau – mouth
  • Tang -tongue
  • Pa – Daddy, he’d say this when see Daddy’s photo or when we Skyping

Skipping & jumping: He’s still on his skipping & jumping mode. He’s ever so happy skipping around all the time and jumping.

School: He enjoys going to school now, but once a while he still cries whenever we leave him there.

Fingers: lately he developed biting his finger nails *pengsan*. I’ve repeatedly told him no, and even slap his mouth or smack his hands also he’s still doing it. I really don’t want him to develop this habit.

Ham Sup: I’m not sure if this is because he’s a boy, or he’s BF baby. Whenever I carry him, he loves to have both his hands on the McB. *roll eyes*. And he’d laugh and look at me whenever he does this I and tell him NO. So aunties out there, becareful when you carry my son OK :P .

Kissing: He has learned how to kiss recently. But he’d open his mouth slightly and go near our mouth. Then he’d stick his tongue out hhaha…When I tell him, don’t lick my mouth, he’s laugh and runaway.

Lazy walker: This must be due to my maid always carry him. Whenever we go out shopping, he always request to be carried instead of walking. And my maid dilligently carry him, I have to keep remind her let him walk. He’s more co-operative this month and allow us to hold his hand and walk. But occasionally, he’ll look for chance to run away.

Sitting still during dinner: Now that he’s older, he can sit thru the whole dinner with us. No longer request to get out from her chair. Even after he finishes his meal, he’ll still sit there and play himself.

Gargling expert: He loves to gargle during bath time. He can put water in his mouth then open up and goes…grr..grr.grr….trying to blow the water in her mouth. Sometimes he does this when we gives him drink. Shiaks!!

Separation anxiety: I remember when Faythe was at his age, she went thru the same phase. He’s now so attached to me, probably due to new maid. Whenever I go upstairs to take shower, he insist of following me. Even pull his clothes up, signing to me he wants to join me bathing.

Possessive: He’s very possessive of his toys and books. He won’t let anyone take it including myself & Faythe.

Faythe turns 3 years, 10 months

backdated post.

Faythe turned 3 years 10 months as of 6th Nov. Can’t imagine in just short of 2 months my lil missy here is turning 4 years old!! I’ve already told her that there won’t be any pig cutting thingy like last year. It’ll be just a simple affair with the family. She remembers very well of her birthday last year and keep telling me “Daddy cut the pig and give everyone to eat.”

I’m giving up keeping track of her vital stats. She doesn’t seem to have put on much weight throughout the whole year, but she seems to be growing taller. She’s around 100cm now.

Dietary: She loves to try new food, but nothing spicy. She loves western food, mainly pizza & pasta. Eats alot but has her mood sometimes she’ll refuse to eat.

Art Class
We’ve started her on art class as of last month. Went for 3 classes so far and I can see she’s slowly budding into a lil artist. She can draw simple things like doors, windows, ironman (stick man with a heart in the middle), flowers, a whole family of 4 of us, fish, bees, trees, clouds.

Talkative
I get these comments from her Art Teacher & School Teacher. She expresses herself very well and she talks non stop throughout the class. Sometimes I really can’t stand her babbling ever so often that I gotta ask her to just be quiet for a moment and let me talk. She has her own opinion and sometimes refuse to budge. She’d insist that she wants it that way.

Protective
She tells us bout how Vyktore gets bullied in the school and how she becomes the hero and safes the day. By taking back the toys from the naughty boy and give to Vyktore.

Nags
Gosh..she must have learned this from me. She nags everyone including Vyktore & our maid. She’d go: “Vyktore, why you don’t want jie jie to do for you? Jie Jie already bring this for you, why you don’t want. Why you like that? You cannot be like that. Afterwards I tell Daddy and Daddy will scold you…

Hops & Jumps & What Nots
She has mastered the art of hoping with 1 leg. She can walk backwards. Able to paddle her bicycle but she’s lazy. Able to climb herself so high in the park’s apparatus (or whatever you call it) & come down herself. She’s able to jump across small drains, with our assistance (holding her hands).

Purple
That’s the favourite colour now. She keeps going around, spotting things in purple and telling me that that’s her fav colour. She even conned MIL into getting her a new pair of Purple Crocs!! (FYI, she already have 2 pairs of Crocs at home, Black & Pink). That explains why I did a purple Scrapbook LO for her ;) .

My Great Helper
She’s my greatest helper at home. She can help me fetch things most of the time, which I’ve given up asking the maid to do. She can also help dress Vyktore up (provided Vyktore doesn’t runaround).

Academic
She’s able to sing Mandarin songs. School & myself thought her a few and she can sing them quite well. She can recognise and write some of the alphabets which she likes.

Fashion Sense
She still likes pants & tops as opposed to dresses. But sometimes she will wear dress/skirt after some mind games with Mommy :P . She start to love tying hair and putting clips. But she doesn’t like long hair..Thank god for that..I’m pretty worried she will get kutu if she keeps long hair cause she has thick hair and it’s not easy to manage. She likes to match her clothes with the same colours, even up to the level of undies :| .

Sweet Talker
She’s the official sweet talker in the family. So sweet that your heart melts when you hear what she says to Daddy especially!! Before Daddy went off this round, she gave him her favourite towel (tweety bird). One which she always use it to put on the pillow when she sleeps. She told Daddy, “When you go back, you must put this next to your pillow and sleep next to it. When you think of me and you will cry, then you can use this towel and wipe your tears“. I guess he must be so heart broken when he hears this.

Seriously, what else would I ask for from a 3 years old. She’s so easy to take care nowadays. She plays by herself. She even pretends to read by herself LOL. And she’s the *tai kuai tau* when it comes to all the dangerous activities at home. I have no problem bringing her out alone. She will either sit in stroller or hang on to me. At least I don’t have to chase her like I do with Vyktore.

Not so co-operative model

Sometimes I get frustrated. Because when I’m in the mood to take some nice shots, all I get is cold turkey from both my kids. One will be hiding behind the door (Faythe!!), the other one will try to run to me and cover my lense (Vyktore!!).

I try to coax them, sometimes even tell them, I don’t wanna friend them if they don’t allow me to take pics LOL…sometimes even gotta plead. Gosh…I sounded so desperate!!

So one night, as usual I was armed with my camera and wanted to take some of their photos. After taking so many photos of other kids, I do feel guilty neglecting mine. But instead of having some pretty faces, I got some ugly face and here’s what Faythe said:

Faythe: Mama, see this is my ugly face…

Mama: Ohh…come show somemore your ugly face how

So she end up posing for me with all her ugly looks, which she thinks is very nice…but actual fact…they look so funny LOL.

Am I happy? Well…better than getting shots of her back hiding behind the door right :P .

I think one of these days, they are going to boycott (probably throw stones at me) me when they see me armed with a camera.

At Long Last…

Comparing Faythe and Vyktore, I always remember the fact that Faythe always liked the car seat and never did once I had to force her to sit in her car seat. But Vyktore, he never like it from day 1.

I can still remember there were many incidents where he just refused to co-operate and sit in the car seat, we had to force him down (2 person) and buckle him. He’d scream all the way home and cry like there’s no tomorrow. But he still repeat it every other day and we struggle with that.

But when I had no maid, I told him everyday that he has to sit in the seat cause kakak can’t carry and I have to drive. Since then he’s been much of a car-seat-lover. Everyday when we open the door, he’d walk to the there and give his car seat a tap, ask us to put him there.

I still remember 6 months ago when we travelled to Penang, he cried so much sitting in the car seat that we have to comfort him with the portable DVD Player. But last month when we went to Penang, he was such a good boy. He survived the whole 5 hours odd trip without the DVD Player. He just sat there quietly, once a while laughing and entertaining himself and playing with his own toys.

At last, I don’t have to worry bout being stuck in traffic jam and having a wailing child that refuse to sit in his car seat.

Conquering LIPAS Fear

(credits & details here)

Ever since I went maid-less for a month, I noticed that my house has extra creatures crawling about when it’s at night. The cockroach!! Must be due to the crumbs the kids drop all over the place and I only clean the house once a week. Good thing that we have a new helper now, but I still spot 1 or 2 cockroach around.

My kids has this extreme fear over cockroach. Whenever they see one, they’d scream on top of their lungs. And Vyktore will tremble with goosebumps too. Of course Mommy is not afraid of it, in fact I go around smacking the cockroach at home. So I thought of a good way for the kids to conquer their fear.

There was one night, after the kids slept, I was downstairs watching Online TV and doing my work. When I went to the kitchen, I accidentally stepped on the cockroach under the floor mat and it died. I threw it away of course. But I thought it will be a good *funny* bedtime story at night for the kids.

So the next night, I told them about the cockroach story, how Mommy was the heroine, killing the tiny creature. Faythe was really happy when she heard bout the story and she kept laughing. She even created story of her own (imagining she’s the one that killed the cockroach :| ). Eventually, she start to realise that the cockroach is not that disgusting after all (after all that crazy stories about cockroach LOL).

There was one night, suddenly the cockroach appeared out of no where and crawling on the floor. Faythe shouted, “Mama, I saw a kat chat there”. I took a look, and went ahead. Took a magazine with me and smack, one of the leg broke. Then the cockroach turn turtled and was trying to salvage himself on the floor (this post is going to get a bit gruesome).

I showed both of them the kat chat struggling on the floor and we all made fun of it. Faythe was actually pointing and dancing and laughing at the struggling creature haha. And Vyktore, though afraid, try to get near to have a good look. I even took some macro shots of the poor fella.

After that incident, Faythe is no longer afraid of cockroach. At least she won’t scream, she’d just tell me and ask me to kill it. But Vyktore, he still gets goosebump when he sees one.

So this is probably a good way to conquer fear, at least it works for mine :P .

Donut DVD

(credits & details here)

Vyktore is quite a TV addict. If he has TV, he’ll be very happy to sit down there for hours. But I’ve been trying to limit TV at home. Hence they only get 3 hours a day, each one taking turn to watch their fav show.

He still doesn’t know how to operate the DVD Player, apart from pressing the eject button and putting the CD in, he still needs me to on the AMP & TV. Which is good. But in a desperate attempt to watch TV, he suddenly had this brilliant idea.

He took one of his stacking donuts and put it on the DVD Tray. Then he press the button to close it, and obviously the Donut fell off from the tray :P . Then he tries again…and again it fell off. I was there to capture that silly moment and I watched him doing that at least like 5-6 times, before he decided that it will never work haha..

After that he walk away from the DVD Player and continue playing his donuts.
