One day I got a sms from Chanel. She requested me to document how I stock up my EBMs. She mentioned to me it’ll be useful for other mommies who plan to BF.
After taking months (sorry I’m really busy :(), finally I’ve completed the guide. This is what I’ve done to stock up on the supplies. It only serves as a guideline and give mommies an idea what to do, where to start, how to start.
I hope this will come in handy to mommies that plan to BF their baby. For daddies, pls pass this to your wifey, hope it will help them as well.
Happy reading and appreciate if there’s any comments or enquiries, email me jazzmint[@]gmail.com, remove the [ ].
wahsey..u write into so detail ahh…GOOD JOB!
OMG Jazz. It’s sure a small world. Didn’t know you are good friend with kimmysia cos he’s my bil. *ngek. Hey, can i add you to msn? my id is hijackqueenathotmaildotcom.
So detailed. Looks like one of my contracts…hehehe. For me just pump and feed and pump and feed.
breastfed my 2nd girl for 1 year, 1st girl for 6 months. For my 2nd baby, I didnt usually freeze my EBM, only keeping them in the fridge to be consumed the next day. Only freeze if there was alot more extra. For 1st baby, freeze everything and consumed the earlier stock. I noticed a difference between 2 babies’ health, the 2nd one gets less cough and cold, even if she gets, recovers faster, as compared to the 1st one who got cough and cold almost every month till she was 2 yrs old.
So usually my EMB for the day is sufficient for next day consumption, whatever extra i freeze, but in the end all “expired” had to be thrown away.
Again, this was just my experience. Also this way is suitable for mommy who doesnt have to be away from baby for long period.
wow so technical…a lot of hard work & love involved…or not…sure give up after 1 week!
Jazz, thanks so much! It really helpful for me!
Very informative…good for my reference when 2nd baby is out. Thanks.
wow…just wished i could have read this when i was preparing for bf.
I admire mothers who truly persevere to ensure that their babies get the best nurients that nature could ever offer. Unfortunately for me – I gave up BF almost after a month fueled by the fact that my son refused to latch on properly, my laziness to get up in the middle of the night to EBM and also partly becos I had post partum depression during that crucial period. I hope to breastfeed for a much longer period when my next child comes along in couple years time.
Jazz, thanks a lot for taking time to write..appreciate that….I kept telling my friend that 1st month is very important to start storing to avoid stress when start work, but nobody believe me…now I can show them your testimony….Bravo to Jazz and 100% support breastfeeding…
yeah loh.. wah.. like those technical manual la.. but good for 1st time BF-ding mum. 😛
Wow! It’s really a god write up. Very useful indeed. I didn’t know I should store from the 1st month itself.. Hmm, I should try it teh next time 😉
Thanks so much for the effort to write this. I was thinking to ask you for some info also on this 🙂
aiyoyo – must print and bind lar….but good good….I have some pregnant friends and am trying to encourage b/feeding for their babies…this is very good resource
Wah!!! ur info is so detail and like people working in stock take lidat. But bravo really for doing such good job.
thank for your document and excel spreadsheet. very thorough!
Hi Jazzmint,
Wow, this is a great guide…how I wish I read this before my baby was born (I’ve been a silent reader, but never had time to get around to the archives…found this page through Chanel’s blog). My baby’s going to be four months now and sad to say, I think my BF (or rather, breastpumping) journey is coming to an early end. With your guide, I hope that I can fully breastfeed my 2nd child in the future for a longer time.
By the way, love your photography…=)
