*backdated post.
We went to Singapore from 21st – 24th June, just last weekend itself. It was a much awaited trip cause it’s all girls trip!!!Cheryl, WJ, HS and myself, all ex-schoolmates..and plus our 2 lil cutie, Faythe & Cairo. I didn’t bring Vyktore, as I’m very sure I can’t handle 2 kids at 1 go, plus I wanted to do some shopping. Let me warn you first, alot of photos ahead…..and this trip is 90% sponsored by PPP :). So what else, go start PPP today hahaha……
21st June night
We left for Singapore with Aeroline. I must say I quite like their service. We had great dinner, OK lah, it was great for me cause I was darn hungry LOL…somemore gotta share 1/2 the portion with my big eater…she had:
1 bowl of oats + honey at home
1 cream puff stick from BreadStory, Cheryl bought it
1/2 of my rice portion
1/2 of the dessert served, jelly
See lah…..I think we gotta order a set for her next time. We were watching POTC 1 & 2 on the bus, Faythe was watching it and doze off while waiting for the POTC 2 appear. Lucky thing there were extra seats, so she got her own seat and Cheryl sat at the other side.
We arrived SG pretty late, the bus driver very slow lah…but when we got to WJ’s house, Cairo was still wide awake, waiting for Jie Jie LOL…..And they already started warming themselves and started playing :|. And Faythe was eating her supper this time!!! But we shoo the kids to sleep soon cause we were all so tired and next day, we have a hill to climb.
22nd June
Today’s plan is to the Zoo. I simply love the Zoo as there were so much to be seen. The last time I went was with WJ, our solo trip to SG, I think it was 10 yrs ago LOL. It has changed alot. The setup was great, it was like a jungle..with walking trail. Faythe was totally amazed too, she walked 3.5 hours covering almost the whole zoo. Some noted photos taken from the zoo…
We were right on time to catch the polar bear show, Inuka, swimming and eating.
Then as we walk, so happen the zoo keeper was in front, so we trailed her and manage to see the giraffe feeding session. They came so close to us…Faythe was all excited, she wanted to feed the giraffe :|, but when they came close, she was scared hahaa…
Next we walk about before the next feeding show, the jaguars. That was a good one cause the jaguars were so active and they just love the water.
Then there were the snakes section. Actually we were looking for the komodo dragon, but can’t find ler…If you notice this pic carefully, the snake is sweating!!! Got water droplets on the body.
We took a rest beside the lake amidst the forest. Faythe busy drawing on the Zoo Map whilst Cheryl sat there relaxing. I went to the orchid Farm just next to it, and took some beautiful macro.
Then we saw the Porboski (not sure sp.) Monkey. Loads of them hanging from tree to tree. Good thing bout Sg Zoo, some animals they put them in glass, you can really get up close personal with them.
We stopped at the Seals & Penguins section. We missed the feeding session, but Faythe was very happy sitting on the fake seal haha…..
And boy, the penguins sure look darn cute. Too bad my kit lense got limited zooming, no close up. Now my next investment is a F2.8 70-200mm lense!!!
Then we saw the highlight of the zoo. The white tigers!!! There were 3 of them. Whoa..and they were so active, 2 swimming 1 trying to jump into the water. Ahh..so different from our lazy tigers in KL Zoo :P.
The last section we went was Down Under. They had kangaroos…cool eh..We skipped some common animals as it was getting a bit dark, we headed off to Woodlands for our late lunch.
What’s for lunch? Moss Burger!!! Yes, we both (Cheryl & myself) love Moss Burger. And since WJ didn’t like it as much as we do and she can always eat it in SG, so we faster eat lah before we miss it LOL.
What so special bout Moss Burger, is the burger itself. It’s not bun, but rice. Nice hoh…
I also ordered some fried mussels to try…love it hahaha…..
As for Faythe, I ordered Minestrone soup for her…she gulped almost everything.
After that we went for some therapy shopping before meet up with WJ nearby her place and we headed home for a rest.
Tea break, time for some fresh soya bean egg tart. Whoa…so delicious and fresh. WJ, pls tapau 1 dozen next time u come OK :P. Sorry, photo don’t look so appealing, but it really does!!!
Our next destination was the Night Safari. But before that we headed to Chom Pang for the Famous Nasi Lemak. While waiting to be served, I took the opportunity to snap photos of Cairo & Faythe. I love these 2 photos.
This one as though 1 singing, the other one doing action.
This is the feeding one…..so loving. Faythe is really a Jie Jie made from heaven. She takes good care of lil ones :).
No more pork chop, only fish fillet…..
Some sotong..yum yum…..
Some prawns…..
And of course the famous fried chicken!!!
We headed to Night Safari with a full tummy. Not many pics taken as flash wasn’t allowed. And since the tram was moving, I didn’t get many good shots.
That’s the owl, in the Night Safari Show.
Ermm…and that small blue thingy is the lioness, trying to jump from the trunk to the rock across. See..this is why I need a zoom lense :P. I didn’t quite like the Night Safari, I prefer the Zoo instead.
23rd June – Shopping Day
HS arrived late 22nd. She’s here for shopping only hahaha…So Saturday we really shop till we drop. We started at 11am. Went for early lunch at Tony *serves babi* Romas :).
Since it’s our first time, we ordered 2 selections, 1 is the sampler, comes with all sorts of ribs the other one is baby back ribs. We love one of it that tasted like char siu :P.
This the baby back ribs…nice also lah haha…but I prefer the char siu taste ribs.
We also ordered started, comprising of baked potatoes skin, chicken wings and cheese sticks. My gosh, the cheese sticks are yummy!!! No wander WJ says she only goes there for cheese sticks hahaha…..
All this while, Faythe was asleep in the stroller :p. She woke up just on time when dessert was served!!
Ice cream, 3 layers…yum yum..though I only tasted a bit.
Faythe wallop most of it.
Then we started our shopping spree. As we walk along Orchard, we saw this…you guess it’s real or not real :P. Tell you the answer at the end of this post.
We walked and walked and shop and shop…see our loot, you sure pengsan hahhahaha…1 full load of stroller, well actually 2, cause Cairo joined us later hahaha…
And something funny happened. HS was actually choosing some clothes at Suntec, we were there cause wanted to take Hippo mah..but Hippo FFK us and left early grrr…so while she was shopping, she left the stroller outside, her cousin looking after it.
The shop owner asked her, “eh why you left your baby there…bring in lah….”
HS answered, “Ohh..that one no baby one…just all the loots…hahahaha….”
The lady looked at her one kind LOL.
So while she went for her shopping and we dump the loot with her, we wanted to go Hippo tour but since the bus left earlier, we wandered around the place.
Had a simple dinner, just soup and bread (shop till PK liao, that’s why lah). But it was very yummy and worth it. SGD7, a big bowl of soup and endless refill of various bread. Just cut whichever you like.
We had ermm…..clam chowder. Faythe finished 1 small bowl by herself, enjoyed with the bread.
And the other one was the mushroom soup…..dip dip with bread.
Not forgetting salads…..we need to clean the system after the babi session in the afternoon :P.
Then we make a slow walk, suppose to go Marina Square and on our way we saw Fireworks by the Esplanade!!! Lucky us eh.
We went for more shopping before meet HS and headed home. Bought some groceries too for the picnic tomorrow.
Since there were so many people in the MRT, we decided to take another train that goes 2 stop down and we got seats and an empty train.
Faythe was so happy, running around the empty seats. She occupied one of the empty row.
Then Cairo went to join her while taking her booze.
We got home pretty late, almost 12am I think. But the kids were still active. We quickly shower and prepare for tomorrow’s picnic.
Faythe meanwhile, enjoying her supper. Pumpkin shuet yee scallop soup…nice eh…..courtesy of Cairo’s Granny.
24th June
We dragged ourselves up at 7+ and headed to the reservoir which is pretty near to WJ’s place.
It’s a nice park. A lot of people fishing there.
Here’s the food we prepared last night, a lot eh…hahaha…..Faythe was a bit cranky as we dragged her up from her sleep, poor thing. She only manage to eat some sausages and drank some ribena.
Look at our mini sandwiches. Very easy to eat haha…
But finally I managed to get her to warm up…by telling her we are going to feed fishes and play bubble :P.
It’s not easy to take shots of bubble, I think I only manage to get 1-2 good shots. Rest of it was like out of focus *embarass*.
And that is Cairo, happily chasing bubble.
We headed home at 10+, all so tired and everyone went to lala land to find chau kung. At least myself and Faythe slept for like 2 hours.
We left WJ’s house and headed to Harbour Front. Check in the luggage at the Aeroline counter. We are taking the 530pm bus, so more time to shop LOL.
We had lunch at Marche. Love the setting there….very Spanish like haha…..
Since we can’t eat much, so we shared. Ordered Paella Seafood…yum yumm…..
Also Rosti with Mushroom. That’s our usual order, rosti.
Another round of soup.
Some crepe….this is cold served with cold cuts.
And of course fresh orange juice to wash down all that food :). And also boost of Vit C. I was already having a very bad sore throat :(.
Finally, Cairo taming the bull outside Marche hehe…..Faythe dare not sit haiyo…
Faythe knocked out in the stroller for at least 3 hours and we did some final shopping. We boarded the bus and she woke up, just nice to waive bye bye to Cairo. And soon after that, Cairo knock out LOL.
The trip back, Faythe was pretty active since she slept so much, she talked and talked, did her rounds of drama queen…but gosh I was so tired, but dare not sleep. Finally she slept when we reach somewhere Seremban?
Lucky the bus wasn’t slow, we reached KL 1030 sharp, Daddy picked us up and went home. So tired.
And here’s Mommy’s Loot for the trip…like I say, sponsored by PPP.
- Kiddy Palace – 20% with membership card.
- Mothercare – 50% summer sale……darn cheap, 2 pieces sleep suit for like SGD15.
