4th Marathon: Joley’s Wedding Dinner

Events Scrapbooking Vyktore
(credits & details here)

Well, after Alycia’s Birthday Party, we headed home and Vyktore was already zonked out in the car. Faythe was still wide awake. I went home and nap together with Vyktore till 4pm+ then I heard Faythe fussing downstairs (I was sleeping on top floor with Vyktore, Daddy was sleeping in our bedroom on 2nd floor). So I went to her and I could sense that she’s tired. Made her Milo, she drank on the bed and knock off after that.

So I estimate that if she wakes at 6pm, she should be ok, not cranky. True..she woke up at 6pm, but she was all cranky!! The wedding dinner is for 2 person, I told Daddy if he’s not going, I’ll go with Faythe. So he says OK, and he stay at home supervise the maid to jaga Vyktore.

I got ready, but Faythe was throwing a big fuss, wanted to to bath her. Worst was she wanted to wear pyjamas to dinner!!! No matter how I coax her she refused to co-operate. So I decided, OK, you don’t want to co-operate, you stay with Daddy. Mommy bring Vyktore!! Yes!! It’s the 1st time I bring him to wedding dinner…and I tell you, that’s like the longest ever wedding dinner I ever had in my life!!!

I drove Daddy’s car to the wedding cause he wanted to use my car and fetch his friends go dinner (I’m driving MPV). So fine, we swapped cars. But I was..ermm..so so smart, didn’t take the car seat with me. Instead I strap Vyktore with the belt and off we go. Half way thru, he was slouching on the seat next to me and trying to escape *gawd…help me!!*. Then he fussed a bit, but I keep telling him we are almost there, just wait. And thanks to some wrong direction from Mr. Hon, I overshot right up to Subang Summit USJ, so gotta take a U-turn and came back to the Subang Balai Polis area. Dinner was at Tai Thong Imperial Palace.
I didn’t bother to find parking as I was already pretty late, so just get jockey parking (RM10, ok lah) and went down. Whoa, once he got off the car, he was so darn happy..and when the lift opens the door, he just rushed in/out!! After we register, we sat down and I fed him some snacks.

I think he got full with snacks, when the dinner about to start, he wanted to walk around. So bring him walkaround. Then dinner started, he only survived the 1st 2 dishes. After that every 2 dishes he wants to walk around…..so I had to get up and chase him after 2 dishes as he loves running away from you whenever he spots that you didn’t see him *roll eyes*.

Towards the chicken dish, he didn’t want to sit on the chair…aiyoooo…..so I let him sat on me. Lucky he lied still on me and signaled that he wants to go sleep. But after a while he was all hyper and ready to run again!! Thank god my college friend’s girlfriend, she loves kids. So she helped me to bring him around the restaurant while I quickly gobble up the food.

Boy was I glad when the last dish came about…faster eat and cabut LOL…I don’t think he can survive any longer for the dinner, already wrecking havoc there. He didn’t like the yum seng (cheers) session too. He feels that there were too loud, he actually covered his ears LOL.

Night is not over yet..on the way home, though I manage to force-strap him on the seat beside me, he managed to twist himself but didn’t escape. And all the way he was crying n crying…my poor boy, but I can’t let him sit on my lap…so I just let him cry till I beh tahan, in the end at Kelana Jaya Giant, I stop by the petrol station, brought him sat on my lap.

Yeahh….I know I’m not supposed to drive with a kid on me, but I had no choice. I was worried that he might puke in Daddy’s car…..aiyo…so I made sure he sat quietly on my lap (I kept telling him wait..don’t move, cause he was so eager to put his hands on the wheels), and slowly made my way back home…..pheww….what a relieve when we finally reach home and he’s the happiest lah…..cause he drove back from KJ to our house.

What a dinner to remember…I’ll definitely think twice to bring him for wedding dinner next round!!

  2. your scrapbook title should be “Nightmare!” that’s the whole reason why i don’t bring Bryan to wedding dinners…….might as well don’t know. Anyway, you’re very brave lah. I wouldn’t even TRY

  3. jaz, next time try not to feed him too full….otherwise when food come, too full to enjoy the food liao..qiqi always love the first dish…especially those crispy fried ones….

  4. I can imagine how dangerous it was when he tried to escape from the seat next to u while u were driving. Hope u’ve learnt ur lesson. Better rmbr to take the car seat with u next time ya. 😀

  5. I can imagine every bit of it. Ethan sometimes cried non-stop in the car from the moment we strapped him in the car seat until we reached our destination. It’s very very very frustrating and hard to concentrate on the road.

Eh, you’re lucky lar. No road block. haha!

  6. Wahaiyo! Why so cham one leh????
We are sooooosooooosoooo lucky that Darrius was a good boy throughout!
Even the guests with kids beside us were so amazed by him sitting there
    eating all by himself quietly!

Anyway, never to drive with the kids on your laps very dangerous if they accidentally
pull the wheel! My MIL wanna do that with Darrius and I told her NO!

  7. that was tough…. thank goodness, you survived it!!!!

reminds me the time when i have to drive with Brad lying on my lap breastfeeding …. thinking back now- holy cow, how do i do it?

  8. Faythe wanted to wear pyjama to dinner … LOL
so next time must remember to take the car seat, otherwise same episode will happen again, hehehe…

  10. Really not easy to handle a kid when you are driving and to bring a kid to a dinner is a challenge. Anyway, you manage to handle him til you reach home.

  11. hahahahaha..i understand ur situation. I come accross this ,I drove once with my boy on my lap too (i blog before).
After u bring Vykotre, Faythe didnt fuss and want to follow u?

  12. aiyoyo … vyktore on ur lap while driving … good la u. when darien was younger he used to squeeze out from his car seat when daddy was driving. he would be happily sitting on daddy’s lap while daddy drives.
