Faythe is so much like Daddy. She loves Laici. Those canned ones. She can sit down quitely with Daddy, and both of them finish the whole can!!
Whenever we go shopping for groceries, she will ask me to buy her laici. So we usually stock up 1-2 cans at home. She’s very excited and wants to eat it. But I tell her that we have to chill it first. Then it will be nicer.
And she never forgets. Next day she’ll take it out and ask us to open!! There was one evening, she actually asked the maid to open the can for her. And took out 1/2 of it. Brought it upstairs, and sat on the floor and eat while I was having my conference call!! And she enjoyed it so much. Now I think better buy fresh laicis for her instead of canned ones. I’m sure she’ll love it.

Hmm….i love them too – fresh or canned. But like you said, better to get them fresh. But I don’t know when’s the season…must ask my mum and let you know. Btw, my mum’s friend was hospitalised cos she used her mouth to open the laici. The laici was laced with pesticide so better wash clean clean before makan-ing.
Me too a laici and longan lover… until I heard they are laced with lots of pesticides… or is it chemicals (to retain freshness)?
in here, the season is about June and July, so i believe M’sia will be the same too, since the laici is imported from china to there.
lychee and longan with ice cubes on a hot day…superb. 🙂
i think ChloeRuoyi is right. I read somewhere (long time ago) that lychees and longan are heavily preserved to maintain its freshness. at one point, there were even ‘hoo-ha’ that some used highly potent preservatives as used to preserve corpse….. so, scary!!

I love lychees too but ppl say they are very heaty. Chinese say “one bunch of lychee equals to 3 bunches of fire?” True or not?

Wait for lychee season in China, should be soon if I remember correctly. If you gonna give her the fresh ones..make sure you don’t let her peel the skin herself or bite on the skin with her mouth. i wish Kylie too has a favourite fruit…but I havent introduced canned ones to her yet…..
canned one is full of sugar, fresh laici is sure a better choice. I think have to wait for quite some time for the laici season.
Eeee… but so sweet.. I don’t like it so we never have it at home and I think because of that Zara has not tasted it before too.
