This is an extremely leisure day cause we know it’s the last day of our Great Ocean Road Drive. We woke up close to 8am and took a walk in Lorne Town. I quite like this place, it’s more modern compared to the ones we’ve been so far, though it’s much smaller compared to Warnambool.
We had our breakfast at one of the restaurant which had a lot of bikes on display before checking out from the motel. While exiting Lorne, there was this beautiful hanging bridge which spans across the river. Couldn’t resist but to pull over and snap a few photos. But was too lazy to walk across the bridge and to check out what’s on the other side.
Then we started our drive, again, we target to arrive at Geelong at least by lunch time, but the scenery always make us stop and ask for more LOL.
Our 1st stop, Jump Rock, it was just a lil bit further after Lorne. Very scenic, with a lot of rocks for you to walk on and the waves will hit you anytime haha…We spent sometime there trying to capture those wave hitting the rock shots.
Then we continue driving to Aireys Inlet, where we could stop to visit the Split Point Lighthouse. There’s actually 2 Lighthouse along Great Ocean Road. We missed the other one (arrived too late, they closed!!), so we decided to go for this one on our way back to Melbourne. It was quite a long walk to reach the base of the Lighthouse. But seriously, it’s beautiful, be it the lighthouse or the view from lighthouse itself. We didn’t go right up, not allowed to. I bet if got chance to go up, it’d be superb. This reminds me of my Macau Trip 2 years ago, where we went up to the lighthose and had a good view of Macau itself.
We arrived at Torquay, surfer’s heaven at lunch time. This is where all the brands like Rip Curl & Oakley have their factory outlet. So we decided to do some shopping and have lunch there. This time it’s McD haha. We continue driving and finally arrived in Melbourne City itself like 3pm. We we supposed to put on the night at Daddy’s Friend’s Place (another friend, Peter), but since it was still office hours, we have to go somewhere to hang around first. Hence with the help of GPS, we finally ended up in David Jones. Extremely huge shopping mall. I love this shopping mall concept. They’ve got trees planted in the mall (palm trees mind you!!) and a sun roof!!
So we spent our time doing some window shopping, looking around and had our dinner there before we finally went to Peter’s house.
