Penang: 17-19 Oct 08

Travelogue

backdated post.

Don’t blame it on me, but on the webhosting. FTP sucks big time lately, I couldn’t upload the files, but finally it works.

We went to Penang mid Oct when Daddy was back from Vietnam. This is the ultimate trip. Why? We went in 2 cars, 2 maids, 5 adults, 4 kids!! Yes, 1st ever trip with SIL & family, MIL & ourselves. Here’s a summary of the trip itself.

17th Oct

  • As usual, we left KL very early, at 6am. Stop at Bidor for the usual Herbal Duck Noodles (how can you miss that right :P). Then we picked BIL up from there and head towards Penang.
  • Arrived Penang close to 11am, jam packed @ the Penang Bridge.
  • Went to have our brunch, kuay teow soup and some fried fish.
  • Visit some relatives in Penang
  • Went to check out G Hotel…too expensive to stay, walk in rates a big NO NO.
  • So we end up staying at Northam Hotel (already booked actually)
  • The kids had fun bathing, Faythe even drew on the shower door LOL
  • Then we slept before head for dinner.
  • Had pork porridge, fried oyster & yummilicious cantonese yin yong noodles
  • Not enough of that, we headed to Nyonya Breeze (must stop for Penang) for our 2nd dinner (love all the food there, especially the dessert!!!)
  • Went back hotel and slept

18th Oct

  • Not much photo taking today as I was getting lazy.
  • We didn’t go anywhere, just hang around relative’s house, had lunch, hang around in hotel, had another lunch, then sleep
  • Evening, met up with Alice & family by the beachside @ Bt Ferringhi
  • Then we had dinner with Alice at somewhere, can’t remember
  • Went back hotel, sleep haha..

19th Oct

  • Today, totally no photos…cause I sudah no mood haha..and I was feeling so dizzy after the breakfast
  • Another day where we laze around in hotel. The kids went to the pool with Daddy while I slept. Gotta catch some sleep since I’d be driving.
  • We reach hope 9pm, Daddy & myself harnessing a cold…Thank god for ginger tea & vitamin C, we were OK the next day.

Some photos taken during the trip HERE.

  1. Kekeke.. coming from you that’s consider very few pictures. 😛

Agree with slavemom, V looked really different and grown in his new hair cut.

  2. Glad that the kids enjoyed the beach outing.
We have not tried Nyonya Breeze before and since you said it is good maybe will pop by and test…. 😛

I also noticed you are not in the mood for photography…. so unusual for you! 😛

  3. Bidor duck noodles? Hehe…can you believe I grew up in Bidor and never had that? We locals considered Pun Chun to be very expensive, as we knew their price was meant for tourists. I only had it recently in Kota Kemuning, where they opened a branch early this year. So next time you want a duck noodles fix, can head to Kota Kemuning (http://punchun.blogspot.com).
