Sekeping Serendah: 22 Oct 08

Travelogue

not so backdated 😛.

After our Penang trip, we went into the Jungle. Again, it was 2 cars, but minus BIL. He’s back to work in Teluk Intan. Serendah. Anyone heard of this place before? Actually it’s somewhere near Rawang. It’s not remote, but once you get into the Orang Asli Settlement, it’s like jungle everywhere. You don’t even get phone line reception mind you!!

It’s really back to the basics. This place is very interesting. They built 5 houses smack right in the jungle. 2 Glass House, 2 Wooden House, 1 Mud House. We rented the Glass House, which I feel is the best looking compared to the other types of houses.

The whole house is made of only wood and glass, on stilts!! Interesting eh. There is NO air cond, but only fan. Shower is open area. There are basic amenities for you to use e.g. kettle, fridge, microwave.

Sofa is made of steel

Table too is made of a piece of steel.

Anyway, when we arrived there, it was raining :(. So we were stuck in the house and we yakked and yakked. Good catch up time for the family. The kids, they were all so excited about this new place.

We catered our dinner from them, it was Indian Food. Sorry too hungry, only took pics of the telur mata kerbau LOL.

After dinner, it was only 730pm :|. Gosh…the clock is ticking super slow that night. The rain finally stopped. So I went down and took some night shots from far.

Meanwhile, the kids were actually entertained with the creatures in the jungle. We spotted quite a bit of jungle insects flying into the house. As usual, our daring Faythe will go around trying to catch the insects and let it crawl on her hands.

After finish taking night shots, I went back to the house and we (Daddy & me) did some crazy light shots LOL…(check out the photo album). We played with the kids for a while and went to bed by 10pm.

Though there weren’t any Air-cond, it was very cooling as it rained earlier. The beds are also covered with mossie netting :). I didn’t spot any mossies there by chance. Imagine sleeping accompanied by the sounds of jungle insects.

Next morning, we were waken up by the sounds of birds @ 7am!! The kids had their milk and we brought them to the nearby waterfall. But it was pretty murky and current was soo strong. We abandoned the waterfall and went back to the swimming pool instead.

The kids had fun there!! So fun they didn’t want to leave the pool.

After pool session, we had some breakfast (sandwich) and finally left the jungle at 10am.

Overall, it was a good trip. Wish it didn’t rain though. A good experience for the family. If you want to go there, I reckon that you bring some games/mahjong to play. Cause it’s really boring at night hahaha…
