F-O-U-R (4)

You know how Chinese people hates 4 as it sounds like die. But that’s not the case for Vyktore.

Indeed, 4 is the 1st number he ever knew in his life and that was the only no. of which allowed me to discover that he could recognise numbers.

I still remember when he came to me with the no. 4 fridge magnet, he said, “FOUR”. I was like, wah is that a fluke shot or what. Then I ask him can you get me no. 4 again. And he did just that. Then I realised that he could recognise 5, 6 as well.

Now he’s a master in counting. He can even go up to 15 without any mistake. Well, I know it’s no big deal as some kids at his age could definitely do better. But I’m very proud of him cause he only started talking at 3yrs old O.o…and numbers are his favourite.

He used to line up all his Thomas Train collection and goes…1…2…3…4….5…right up to 11. But now he’s getting very chicky, he’d just simply point 1 and count and then simply tell you a number and laugh. He knows very well that he’s wrong, but he just want to make fun of us.

But 4 still remains his favourite. Here’s some of our funny conversation:

Every night, we’d go thru his favourite counting book. (Those that you flip open, and you count what’s behind the flip)

Mommy: How many cats are hiding behind the door?
Vyktore: 1…(points at 1 cat), 2…(pointing at the same cat), 3…(pointing at the next cat)…FOUR (He specifically says it very loud when it comes to 4)
Mommy: No..there’s only 2 cats.
Vyktore: FOUR..”giggles”.

Mommy: How many eggs are there in the basket?
Vyktore: Mah-mit (He calls me mah mit O.o) 1,2,3%
