As usual, Mommy and Faythe went for evening walk today..I usually bring Faythe for evening walks on weekends and sometimes weekdays if I reach home early and the weather is good. So today, we did the usual roundings around the neighbourhood…well, I was a bit adventurous, sidetrack a bit from the usual park and went further around our housing area..While strolling her in the pram, as usual she’s very kepoh..looking around…then we saw this dog, it was barking from one of the house..Faythe suddenly got terrified and cried..I quickly console her and hug her, then put her back into the pram and continue walking…Didn’t know she was afraid of dog!! So after walking a bit of distance…we came to another house on the way back, this time, the dog was tied to the gate, but it was outside…as we walk pass that house, the dog attempted to chase us…Faythe screamed her lungs out when she saw that. Poor girl, Mommy had to carry her up and scold the dog…telling her Mommy go beat the dog for bullying Faythe…luckily she was consolable.
So off we went and there wasn’t anymore dog encounters…went home, had her porridge (started giving her 2 times porridge a day)..after that she took a short nap. Then Daddy woke up from his nap and came downstairs…cuddled her while she was sleeping. So I was telling daddy that she’s afraid of dog. She woke up a while later and started looking at us and playing. Then daddy (being his mischievous self as usual) pretended barking like a dog..instantly she burst into tears!! Waiyoo…memang not being helpful, make her cry again. Luckily only for a while, after that she was OK.

Lesson learnt..no dogs at the moment. Luckily we have yet to decide getting a pug, bulldog or retriever in the house to add on to our home’s *PET COMMUNITY*. If not, we will see a lot of dog & baby drama everyday. But I’ve always like retriever, they are so gentle especially to kids, and they are very intelligent…like the one posted in this blog. That’s my “brother* punya male retriever named Sky. Picture taken long time ago in his old rented house. They’ve (Sky & Snow) now grown so much bigger and very playful too.
Ivan also goes out for wow-wow viewing in the evenings… he loves evokeing them but when they’re near, he shirk away to me… i’m sure Faythe will love em soon and animals are a good way to let children learn how to care (read somwhere)
aahhhh!!! the golden puppy is so cute!!
luckily my niece (called Faith too) is not afraid of my dogs. cause she’s used to their barking sounds even when she’s in her mummy’s tummy..hehe

Hehe, I love puppy….when I was small, I cried when my puppy died. Sue is right, animals are a good way to let children learn to care.
Forgot to tell you, my hubby said Faythe is very “leng lui” woh!
I am also afraid of dogs cause last time always kena chase wan. But my girl is the opposite, she dare to squeeze the dog’s face!
first time see dog sure they will scare, as this is something new for them..after sometimes they will love it..believe me? Wien also cry when first time see dog, now? she even shout loud to chase those pass by dogs le..
I think not afraid of dog but afraid of the loud bark. Emily also afraid of the bark. Once I went to my friend’s house, she had a in house dog who bark very loudly and she cried. Later when she got acquainted to he dog, she started chasing the dog around and played with it.
annie, jess, michelle: yah hope it’s only first encounter…
jefferene: hehe must say thx to your hubby 🙂
Hei Jazz, why don’t u buy a fake ‘wou wou’ (the one with the barking sound) for Faythe and let her get acquainted with it first. Then maybe the next time round, she’ll be braver coming face to face with the real one.
Barking will scare Faythe, so tell Mr. Hon not to bark but whine first (hee, hee).
I have a labrador retriever (Sydney) we’ve had her for 2 years….so from the beginning of my pregnancy until now, Ashley is used to Sydney barking….so no problem there…labs and GRs are really good with kids!!! consider getting one if you have the time to take care of them….labs and GRs need alooot of attention….Sydney tries to attract our attention by grabbing the ball in her mouth and run to us to signal us to play…very cute!!!
tracy: good idea..
dinah: yah..plan to get a GR but afraid that I don’t have time to take care of it, neglect the dog very charm also
