We have decided to switch Faythe’s sleep guardian from Mommy to Daddy. Cause I really needs a breakie. And I’m so glad that it’s progressing well. So what have we done? See the title you would have guessed :P.
Daddy has introduced ghost & monster to her bedtime. Not bedtime story, but just by telling her monster coming tonight and Daddy is gonna protect her. He plays the bad guy and hero at the same time kakaka…..And Mommy helps by telling Faythe that I can’t protect her as I have to protect Vyktore (whom sleeps in the cot), so only Daddy can save her.
Nowadays before sleep, here’s what happens:
Mommy: Faythe, tonight got monster or not?
Faythe: No. Daddy kill monster. Take knife, chiang, chiang, chiang (swings her hand as though fighting with monster) and kill the monster. Monster very bad bad.
Mommy: Ohh isit…but Daddy told me monster might want to come and look for Faythe.
Faythe: *Face changed*, Look for her protector, Daddy and quickly snuggle next to him
Daddy: What Daddy tell you? When got monster come, must close eyes and sing twinkle lil star
Faythe: *closes her eyes, start singing* Twinkle little star, How I wonder what you are, Up a bove the world so highhhhh..like a diamond in the sky
Daddy: *Give me a smirk*
Mommy: haha great…*walks out of the room* Faythe oi oi with Daddy OK, Daddy protect you
Now, Daddy must put her to sleep every night and must not leave the room till she’s asleep. Ahh…that’s a good breakie for me :). So when Daddy is working day shift or off shift, she sleeps with him while I can go do my blog and stuff, if Daddy not around, monster doesn’t appear :P. We have bedtime story and I tuck her to bed.
😀 I always do that to my kids when they don’t want to sleep and its work ler.
Wow! It’s nice that you get a break from putting your daughter to bed! I have been doing it for almost 3 years and I have decided that it’s also about time I want some time off! 🙂 I’m just thinking how the dad can do it! The conversations is funny, especially the ‘knife – chiang chiang chiang’ part! Thanks for the laugh and I’m glad you have your time off! 🙂 Enjoy it! BTW, what do you use for your scrapbooking? I really like it!
