Mid Autumn Festival

Faythe
Mommy just downloaded the new plug-in for blogger, posting direct from MS Word. This is real cool hahaha…
Anyway, here’s what happened on Mid Autumn Festival. First year celebrating this occasion with Faythe. I was contemplating whether to get her any tanglungs or not..since she’s so young, I don’t think she would appreciate. So in the end, Mommy bought some Japanese Lanterns..looks beautiful and cheap as well..at least Faythe can see no touch hahaha….
We had early dinner since Daddy was scheduled for Macao Flight. Maid cooked dinner as usual under Mommy’s supervision. The result of the food, not much taste lah except the chicken with “fong lut” was good.
Then Mommy brought Faythe for the usual evening walk at about 7pm. The skies getting dark and I thought of lighting up some candles. Thanks to one of the Mommy suggesting tealight candles, I got tones of that at home, so started lighting them up all over the car porch..Faythe were in the stroller, watching me…But it was too windy, I had to keep on relighting the candle until I got fedup. Better do this later. So took Faythe in and she nap for like 15minutes?
Then it was 8pm+…I started lighting up again, this time it’s much more successful hehe..Then I put on the lanterns one by one..Faythe was amazed looking at the lanterns. After all that’s done, I left maid and Faythe to entertain themselves while I went for a shower.
Later I decide, why not light up some fireworks, since we’ve got some leftovers from CNY. So brought out 2 sticks…long one with the bottle as the holder. Started lighting one…then the fireworks started shooting up…Faythe got frightened due to the sound (first time see mah hahaha)..but at the same time she was ke poh as well..Then I lighted a few more and she enjoyed it :).
About 9pm+, got tired liao, so went back inside, had mooncake, ling kok and the mini yam..gave a bit to Faythe to taste as well hehe…So that’s the first quiet Mid Autumn Festival we had with Faythe.

  1. I totally forgotten about the tealight candles… now my gate is covered with wax *no eye see*!

You know how to eat ling kok ar? How does it taste like?

  2. You so lucky..got maid to cook for you. The ling kok skin is so hard, not easy to remove/bite with teeth, I seldom take it.

My mid autum festival… half day at my parent’s house and half days at PIL’s house…very exhausted!

  3. What??? U cracked open the ‘ling kok’ with ur bare teeth??!! Can’t imagine u could do dat. Any teeth broken or not? (hee, hee) I’ve to use the hammer to ‘hammer’ them open leh. I bought about 20 of them and I had to finish them off myself cos nobody was interested with the tasteless ‘thing’ (dat was what my maid asked me, “What r those ‘macam lembu punya kepala’ thing?”)

I had tealight candles too cos Destinee’s tanglungs were all out-of-shape b4 the actual Mooncake Festival day.

Ei, so ‘hor lin’ ar, spending MCF alone with Faythe only. But nvm, I think Faythe was so facsinated with the tanglungs and lights and had enjoyed herself with mommmy.

  4. I miss those HORNS!!! Yummy I love those, mum always make it for me. Now I am so far away, I forgot which festival they have that. I usually crack it with hammer. 😛

  5. Hmm, good idea on putting up tanglung witn tea light candle. I use normal candle for my tang lung & it lasted for about 10 – 20 mins only. Try to relight it 2nd round & y 3rd round, got fed up liao.

Next year use tea light candles.

  6. Jefferene: hehe exhausted but I’m sure Ching enjoyed herself right 🙂

Tracy: no teeth broken haha..I got very strong teeth mah hehehe..I think my maid boiled it quite long, so it was pretty soft.

Mich: now that you know, next year can buy some and makan with Tim & Emily lor :). I got a friend, her uncle made windmill with the horns..so nice lah

Sharon: Dunno is it a fruit or veg..it’s not juicy at all, but don’t look like a veg to me either.

Cheryl: hehe yalor, got the idea from one of the mommies. It lasted like more than 2 hours
