Macaroni & Cheese

In the Kitchen

On popular demand from so many Mommies..hehe..thx thx…here’s the recipe for Macaroni & Cheese.

Macaroni is very small, don’t require blending.
MACARONI & CHEESEEEE
Ingredients

MINI Macaroni
amount: a handful of it, depends on baby’s appetite, for a start maybe a small handful to test the water
where to buy: supermarket like TESCO or JJ. I got mine from TESCO, mini ribbon shapes..very cute hehe
MINI Bebebel cheese
amount: I’m very greedy so my handful of macaroni, goes together with one bebebel cheese
where to buy: got it from TESCO. TESCO has the widest range of cheese, according to Carre Four HR Mgr :P. I think can get from JJ also.
Water
amount: agak agak lah..for boiling the pasta one hehe

Method

  1. Cut Bebebel cheese, into small chunks
  2. Bring water to boil, and dump all the macaroni into the boiling water
  3. Cook for 5-10 mins until macaroni is soft
  4. Drain the water and retain the macaroni
  5. Make sure you shake off excess water from the macaroni so that your macaroni & cheese won’t become macaroni water & cheese
  6. Place the cheese into feeding bowl
  7. Pour the piping hot macaroni into the feeding bowl
  8. Allow it to settle for 1-2 minutes
  9. Then use the feeding spoon to STIR (like goreng the macaroni)
  10. The cheese will MELT very fast since it’s in small chunks
  11. Once all melted, you will see the macaroni & cheese nicely mixed together and look a bit cheesy (when you try to take a scoop up), but don’t expect to see the likes of Kenny Roger’s macaroni & cheese – still wondering how they make it so so cheesy!!
  12. Now it’s ready to serve.
  13. Make sure serve while it’s still warm, I think if it’s cold it will be rubbery and sticky.
  14. I think for older kids, maybe can add some chopped button mushroom and probably a bit of basil leave

  1. wow, you put one mini bebebel cheese to cook the marcaroni and Faythe like it! 😛 I put only 1/4 of it, otherwise I have to finish it myself!

My way of cooking is bit different:
    1. Boil water with pork/chicken/ikan bilis and ABC pasta and simmer for about 20 mins. (I add finely chopped spinach and carrot sometimes.)

    2. Take out the pork/chicken/ikan bilis and drain the excess water.

    3. Add cheese.

p/s: your sardine ABC soup is very creative, I never thought of putting sardine into soup!

  2. very easy to cook the mac and cheese leh… will try it soon

as for the soup, seems funny to mix ABC with sardines LOL… interesting though

  3. Marcaroni cheesse recipe look really easy ler..must try it lah..SQ never try marcaroni b4 ler..hope she will like it..Thanx for ur recipe lor

  4. egghead: should try for luke skywalker also

jefferene: hehe i greedy mah, didn’t know faythe also so greedy :P. Your pasta making more healthy :). The sardine soup taste sour + sweet, very hoi wai LOL

sue: yaya go cook some for Ivan. heheh yah..alot ppl says it’s weird too heheh

Sharon: wah no recipe sifu lerr..I’m still very far fetch fr there.

  5. Wow, will tell hubby about your ABC sardine soup. He’s a great fan of sardine. I’m just worried it may be very fishy (I can’t stand fishy smell).

Your macaroni and cheese not too salty ah? Too much salt for young baby not very good right?

My style is make vege pesto (carrot, tomatoes, celery, potato fry in olive oil, then blend), then mix in 1 small piece of cheese, and stir in macaroni.

It won’t be as tasty as yours, that’s why Zara didn’t quite like it.

  6. Eiks, looks more than ur method of ‘rojak’ rice/macaroni + ABC soup + sardines to me.

Hee, hee, I rather have the ABC soup and sardines with onions separately cooked and eat with rice or macaroni.

Okay, okay, no comments. U all asked for it! (hee, hee, not me)

  7. I bought a pack of ABC macaroni before from organic shop. But it’s too HARD (difficult to chew) for my son. Must try to buy from Tesco.

I didn’t use babybel as too cheesy and more harder when it’s cold. Usually i used normal cheddar cheese, taste good than babybel. Cheddar cheese is more salty, but i think should be OK as is not taken frequently.

  8. zara mama: nehh..didn’t smell fishy. the cheese i tasted is not salty at all..I’m not sure bout the rest of mommies though.

tracy: kacau kacau lah u here :p

huisia: hehe yah..cheddar cheese pretty salty.

  9. Thanks for the recipe! About Kenny Rogers Mac & Cheese….i posted a mac and cheese recipe (not for baby) in my blog, anyone interested can try out and see whether can ‘produce’ similar KR mac & cheese…:p

  10. The macaroni and cheese looks tasty. Might make a bigger portion for Keith and mummy. The sardine receipe looks like tom yam to me..Now I am feeling hungry thinking of Tom Yam soup.Hehe
