before I start on today’s post…just wanna announce answer to previous post, she was looking for her pacifier. Mommy had no choice to consficate it cause was trying to snap her pic but she’s not paying attention to me!! Teruk lah this mommy hahaha…
Faythe is now 10.5 months. I’m just wondering at this age what are the fruits that parents usually give to their baby? I started her with some apple…then we proceed to banana and papaya. She loves banana, probably due to the fact that she’s born in monkey year :P. I don’t even need to mash it, she can bite & chew from the fruit itself, but of course Mommy holds the fruit, or else end up very messy.
Then I gave Faythe some China pear to try. She doesn’t seem to like it..could it be due to the texture? When I buy plums, I do give some to her as well, and she loves it too though sometimes it’s pretty sour. She will eat and then shake the head like Indian to show sign of sour kakaka….I’ve given her some starfruit as well, she loves it too…Dragon fruit is her favourite as well, she can eat up to 3-4 pieces.
MIL sometimes gives her kiwi fruit, she can finish the whole fruit all by herself. Talk about being greedy this little baby!! She seems to like most of the fruit, except for one….the watemelon. I gave some to her last week, she only suck the juice and left the fiber!!! Yikes!!! I think could be the texture as well, same like pears.
The prefer list:
Banana
Papaya
Dragon Fruit
Plum
Starfruit
Banana

The so-so list:

So what other fruits can we give them? Orange I’m worried of phlegm & allergic. Durian ermm…a bit heaty huh…Pineapple I think it’s a bit too acidic…langsat, mangosteen those are season fruits, even Mommy don’t eat..so forget bout it and they are too small with seeds too…no good!! Suggestions?

don’t give a crap to the “an apple a day” bull shit!
always give papaya and banana as they are full in vitamins and they help little Faythe to poop 🙂
Zara loves banana, papaya also. Those are probably top on her list.
What’s not on your list, we’d given her ciku (which she’s ok, but not a great fan), avocado, mango (try avocado & mango, she loves it), dates (those buka puasa ones.
For the harder fruits, like apple (she loves them raw, but the not able to chew up the fiber), pear, appricot, plum, I normally stew them for her. That way, it’s not as sour.
Have you tried korean pear? They are very sweet, BB like them.
Not sure if she would like persimmon, there are plenty in the pasar malam nowadays. Juts serve her the flesh.
egghead: hehehe…her poo is OK so far even banana-less
zara mama: ciku – that’s good idea. I’ll try it out. and Avocado and mango too 🙂
allyfeel: where to get korean pears? oohh..persimmons oso can huh. THx 🙂
