Stockpile

Motherhood

So what do you stock up when you have a child @ home?

When I was single and available, I don’t recall stocking up anything other than instant noodles @ home and probably stamps for postage (that also maybe just in 10s or 20s).When I was single but not available, even less stocking up since got bf *cheng* makan everyday…instant noodles oso don’t need liao hehehe…..When I got married but no children, I stock up more stamps and more envelopes (gotta do postage for hubby also mahh). We also stock up some can food so that as and when we like we can cook some food.

When I got married and Daddy join his current co, the only stock I see is whisky and more whisky!! He gets duty free + extra discount cause he works @ KLIA…We got 1/2 cabinet fully loaded with all types of whisky.

Now that I have children (1 coming to 2), the only thing that I stock up is diapers diapers and more diapers!!!

Diapers seriously don’t come cheap in KL…the better quality it is, the more expensive. So far, I’ve tried most of the brands and here are some reviews:

  1. Anakku – totally kena *ban* from Mommy…it doesn’t absorb well and leaves the lil’ butt wet…failed product
  2. Pureen Dry5 – pretty good for day use…I’m a supporter especially when you can purchase @ RM25 per pack during WHS
  3. Pet Pet – gave a try last week, Sara’s Mommy gave Faythe a sample, pretty good…might consider this 🙂
  4. Pampers Night – Comparable to Mamy Poko. Only comment is the sticker is only stick once, and the fitting is pretty small 🙁
  5. Drypers – pretty good for day use too…I’m also a supporter when there’s discount 🙂
  6. Huggies – *ban* by Faythe, cause it gives her rashes 🙁
  7. DryPants – I think this is same brand as Drypers….not bad either, one diaper lasted for whole nite!!! but cost wise I think it’s not cheap.
  8. Mamy Poko – *thumbs up* for the good product which has never failed…the only thing is it’s bloody expensive lahhh
Lately, there’s some sales/promotion going on with Mamy Poko…cheapest price I’ve ever got, it’s almost Rm10 cheaper than the normal price!!! When I saw the advertisement, my eyes nearly pop up..see lah how hypermarts can catch this Mommy’s attention. So me being the kiasu Mommy, actually asked a friend, whom works next to this hypermart in Subang, and grab me 8 packets of Mamy Poko…..hahahaha…..when he got it and sms me, I was jumping with joy…the most funny thing was, he told me…eh you know when I pay at the cashier, the fella was laughing…and when I push the trolley to my car (he can’t walk there cause too many bag of diapers), I feel like a daddy…hahaha……he’s not married and still single :)So before that I’ve stock up some during sale, now also stock up some…whoaa…I hope this is gonna be enough. Also because I’m expecting 1 more to come, so the stock has to be a mixture of all sizes!!!
Ahhh…what a blessing stockpile of diapers :P…call me crazy, but I’ll do it for all the savings…which now contributes to petrol *fumes*

  1. Haha, I am stocking up too for diapers but not as much as you lah!

Actually the price just minor different only if you calculate on per piece basis coz the RM28.90 packaging is 4 pcs less.

I think I have to stop using Poko very soon coz YChing doesn’t pee much when she was sleeping at night.

  2. Last time I also stock up diapers too, kena scold by hubby, as I am taking too much space in the house(like u la)..but I scold him back, my reason is : eh, I save money for u ler!!! But he still e-e-o-o..just dun care la…:P

  3. You are not alone. *Hi5*
Besides diapers, I also stock for wet tissue, milk powder, yu yi oil, rash lotion, shympoo, bath gel, poh ying tan, life barley, teats for milk bottle and etc.
Can said, all the stuff that my kids use daily I will keep extra.
Have gave instruction to maid, once the stock less than 2pack must inform me to ‘yup for’…

  4. Lol! Thats a lot of stock you have there! Eh? How come you can do review of so many diaper brand. You tried them all kah? I only use drypers for both my babies from Day 1 till now. I did not use cloth diapers when they were young cos too lazy to wash and I’m not switching to those pants type diapers becos costly and its so attractive I sked they dun want to change to underwear later on!

  5. Aiyo.. terror la you.. really super stock up!

I dare not buy too many packs because don’t know what size Zara will become.. So just bought 1 pack M (her current size) one pack L.

Zara wears Huggy Dry during the day and Night is MamyPoko.. Faythe uses MamyPoko the whole day?

  6. Thats a LOT of diapers.
I stock diapers too, but not that much lah.

Really hoping to toilet train Champion, so can save a bit. but still not successful 🙁

    Diapers analysis quite helpful 😉

  7. Stocking diapers? I don’t go for stocking up of more than 2 packets. Why? No more extra space for the stocks in my TINY WEENY apartment!

Dat Pappy of Destinee doesn’t believe in stocking up cos he always says: “there’re sales everywhere and every now and then, why go for the rush?” Anyway, he’s the one paying, so, I shouldn’t be worrying about the stocking up things lor. Kekekekeke.

  8. wah lau eh… so many diapers!!! the most we stock 8 packs, all from friends during their full moon, then later the max 4 packs. Now? *phew* one pack last two weeks, so happy the nanny day almost over.
