Apart from the Monster scary series instilled by Daddy, I do have bedtime story session with Faythe, especially when Daddy is not around. My only worry about bedtime story is she wants 1 story after another and refuse to sleep :(.
And sometimes she even ask to take picture of her while telling her story..haiyo…This a pic I caught of her smiling away just before I started the bedtime story. Bedtime story is not only for the kid, but also myself. Sometimes I fall asleep too while telling her story and if she’s still wide awake, she’d ask me to wake up :(.
Sometimes I’m lazy, I won’t read from the book, but instead will create story for her based on her request. Yeah, she has all sort of request. Before bed, I’d ask her what story she wants tonight. She’d say she wants Monster, Nemo, Cars, Spiderman, Mr. Bean. My dear, how to tell Mr. Bean lah..I have no more creative juices LOL.
yeeerrr.. so sweet the bed time photo.. she really like taking photo hor.. good mah, mummy hv more and more idea to write post on faythe. Mr Bean story ?? hahaha, this one must act with a lot of funny action wan.. no talking wan…. then lagi Faythe cannot sleep after a good laugh ..
hehe… later on, you will have more trouble on creating as she knows more character from lots of robot n cartoons movies :p Transformer is up now… i think she will ask for that later *giggle*
same with my En En, she will always expect us to read her story or sing to her if we want her to sleep… clever horr… so young already know how to make deal. But Faythe really has good imagination mind, must be very creative one day. Be glad that she wants you to take her photo, unlike mine who seldom give co-operation…. :O(
Faythe is so sweet!!!!!!! (like Mummy? hee hee) Next time b4 you start telling stories, tell her that max is 2 or 3 and after that must sleep kakaka
Hi JM–I echo Paik Ling–with my little one there is always a limit agreed upon before we start. This way boundaries are set and everyone understands their role (smile).

Faythe is so cute…..i love this photo of her smiling sweetly. do you try to skip a few pages when reading to her? wonder if she would realise it or not. I do that to ashley sometimes when she asked me to repeat and repeat. she still doesn’t know that i have skipped some pages…hahahahaa
I thought reading from the book is easier than making up story, at least that is to me. Sometimes already tired, some more have to imagine *slaps head*. My secret is to summarize the pages of the story book if it is too long. Then, can zzzz early mar…

I think stories are one of the best way to capture children’s attention! I make up my own stories about the issues that my daughter is faced with, such as bad habits that need to be corrected. So far, it works!
Yes, I limit to three stories, otherwise, it really can be endless! My daughter associates sleep with story such that, even if she wakes up in the middle of the night for stories, she’d still want to be read to before going to sleep!
