So pitiful..that’s how I felt when I took these photos. Nevertheless, I have to take it, like what twolilfellas said, cause these are moments which you want to remember.
Why is she crying? She wasn’t too happy that she couldn’t wear the clothes she wanted to. Not because Mommy didn’t allow her the freedom to decide (since she’s old enough now), but because the clothes been sent to washing machine.
She likes to wear 2 of her clothing nowadays:
- Light green Ultraman outfit – she insist me to buy for her when she saw I bought a pair for Vyktore. She says it’s robot
- Light blue Spidey outfit
Everyday after bathing, when she’s in the mood to select her clothes, she’d request for either one of it, but dear…we gotta wash it, you can’t be wearing the same outfit everyday!!!
Hence the drama above happened last week when we didn’t have the outfit she want and we forced her to wear a pooh bear dress. Poor girl, cried like no tomorrow. She was so unhappy she tried running away and we literally forced her to donned the outfit as we were worried that she might catch a cold.
She stopped crying when I diverted her attention later on.
I’m sure this is pretty common for Mommy with kids that likes to decide what they want to wear. What do you do to counter this?

Hi J–interesting my little one has just begun to be more assertive about what she wears. But, there are guidelines that have been set up beforehand.
Since she has been dressing herself, we started to teach her how to match clothes and colors, starting out simply. Red goes with red. Blue with blue. She caught on quickly to that. Then we added two color.
Now, she can pick a piece of clothing to go with what has been chosen for her if she wishes. Generally, we still choose her outfit.

Cant help laughing coz this happens to my 2 brats every single day without fail. They seem to have a strong liking for a particular outfit and they just want to wear it everyday, the whole day long though it’s already dirty or wet.
My gals like to bully my MIL, they will choose and quarrel with each other that who want wich cloth. If i bath them i will tell them wear what i want them wear, if dunwan dun wear..haha..fiece mummy.
Wah. She cried till so sad. Haha. Amilie also do chooses her clothings sometimes. But normally is when my MIL chooses something she dun like (I dun like either hehe)
It’s actually not quite a bad experience.. at least Faythe now knows that she may not be able to get what she wants all the time due to factors out of our control what not… It’s part of life…..
i think proper train is necessary to kids sometimes…can’t always get what they wanted la…
tell her no matters what she wear will look pretty on her … 🙂 she dun like something more girly like barbie or salomoon… like ultraman more *-* !!

Mine won’t touch Spider man or Super man (remember the ones you got them?), she said those are for boys.
Ah, happened to me too 🙂 I just tell her we gotta wash & dry the clothes and ask her to choose another one. It might not work initially but once you drum the message many many times, they will buy it. Lol.
