Wedding Checklist

I wrote bout this sometime ago. I’m a checklist person. All the things I do, I want to be in list to make sure I don’t forget. Even when I go travelling, I have a checklist on things to pack. Because I’m a very big head prawn person LOL.

So recently cause my good buddy, Elaine, is getting married, other than giving her all my contacts during my wedding, going to her gown trial, I also dig up my list for her. Yah, I still keep it with me after 4 yrs and when friends need them, I’ll just pass it to them and they can modify from there.

Why they always ask from me leh…cause they say my list was so complete that they would hardly miss out anything if they have it as template hehe..and you can add yourself lah all those nitty gritty traditional stuff which I skipped most of it since my in law side are christians and my family side is close one eye style.

I’ve uploaded this list to my server, in case any readers out there, whom are getting married or has friends that is getting married download this list and start adding in the stuff that is not there.

To Do Checklist
This is the list of stuff that we gotta do in preparing for the wedding. We only had 3 months to prepare (due to some unforseen circumstances – no not shortgun :P), so having a list is really helpful

Guest List
It’s good to have a complete list of your guest, their email, phone, addy and keep track of it. So that in any case someone drop off, you can slot in the next person in queue. Chinese wedding you know, u gotta manage the tables well, if not you’d end up having empty tables and you have to pay for that!!!

Coordinator To-dos
This is for the bridesmaid & gang. They also need to know what they need to do on that day. So give them the list, debrief them prior to the start of the wedding day, and they’d know what to do and make sure the wedding turns out perfect – since you’ll be so busy and you won’t have time to bother bout all the tiny lil stuff.

Main Contact
There are cases where photographer can’t find the house, make up artist gone missing, and the list is endless. So have 1 list that has all the important ppl’s contact there and give out to all those involved. That way, if anyone goes missing along the way, we can just call them, anyone can call, not just the bride or else bride will be so stressed hahaha…

Itinery
To ensure you have a smooth wedding day, make sure you have a itinery and be flexi. Throw in 10-20 mins extra each slot to make sure in case we overrun, we don’t need to rush for the next thing. You know lah, chinese got all those masuk pintu what time, keluar pintu what time. So if you plan it too tight, in the end you also suffer. The key is relax and enjoy your wedding 😉

Spending
Last, control your budget. Know what you spend. Our wedding we try to keep it simple and yet it has some special element in that. And we paid for our own wedding, except that dinner was sponsored by FIL. So we gotta be thrifty. If you look at the file, you can’t imagine, We only spent like RM4000 for our wedding!!! Very budget haha..we didn’t take any studio pics, but instead we got photographers to take outdoor shoot on the day itself. And for the gown, bought it from UK, so cheap :).
