Of Piglet, Duckling & Puppies

Faythe Scrapbooking

(credits & details here)

Nope, they are all not related. 2 mammals, 1 bird. 2 with 4 legs, 1 with 2 legs…definitely not my pets too haha…

I’m teaching Faythe baby animals. I’ve tried to teach her sometime ago with one of the board books, but she couldn’t really understand that time. So I left it aside..but lately she suddenly can remember hmm…so I practice with her everyday to make sure it’s not a fluke.

She knows quite a fair bit of the baby animals and I’m adding on to the list everyday. Here’s our baby animal lesson conversation:

Mommy: Faythe, baby cat call what?
Faythe: Kitten
Mommy: Baby dog…
Faythe: Puppy
Mommy: Clever girl *must praise first*…baby pig call what?
Faythe: Pig let…
Mommy: baby duck leh?
Faythe: Duckling
Mommy: Faythe so clever *muaks muaks*…baby chicken?
Faythe: Chicks
Mommy: baby kangaroo?
Faythe: It’s call jo ee…..
Mommy: Baby cow (new in the list)..
Faythe: ermm..it’s called samiyang
Mommy *roll eyes* she has this habit if she doesn’t know anything, she’d simply say a word…No no..not samiyang, it’s called a calf..
Faythe: Calf…
Mommy: Baby horse?
Faythe: Foal
Don’t ask me what’s samiyang..sometimes she speak words that only she understands 😛

OK, once she master this, I’m gonna start alphabets with her…I think she’s a bit slow on that, she can say some alphas out of no where.

  1. so clever… when oscar was faythe’s age, i also start to introduce bb animals via flash cards. i’d suggest you use flash cards more often and put a hold on the alphas, cos with just the alphas, its really memorising only. kids shld be tot to recognise words then only the alphas that formed it. i went to a kiddy education workshop two years ago and the speaker is from some montesorri school in england … or was it NZ, forgot liow 😛 just a suggestion….

  2. clever girl *clap clap* .. samiyang .. hahha denisha was like that too when she was younger .. inventing her own words but darien, he’ll just say ‘i dunno’.
