1st Dentist Visit

It’s year end and I usually have to clear my annual dental claims before it gets forfeited. I’m very lucky in the sense that our co pays RM750/head for each of the family member for dental claims. Yeah that’s quite a big amount rite :). So I took the opportunity to bring Faythe along during my dentist visit earlier this month.

Few days before we went, I actually psyched her and did some trial run with her at home. Telling her this is how you do it. Open your mouth..then I put my finger in rub rub on the teeth..then done..then ask her pretend to gargle. She was all excited about the visit.

On the day itself, we were there pretty early. She had a few biscuits just before we went in for the checkup. I quite like this dentist of mine cause she’s pretty good with kids. She gave Faythe this cute napkin with animal prints on it over her top. Then let her sit down…talk to her a bit before she start checking.

As for Faythe, you can’t believe it…..she behave absolutely well. So well that I was so proud of her. She did exactly what the dentist wanted her to do, open mouth, let her check, then gargle…then repeat it again. We even had her teeth polished and she didn’t move an inch on that chair!!

Her report was great. And our next checkup is due somewhere in May. After that she was kept busy with some books and balloon while dentist worked on Mommy’s teeth. She kept asking the dentist what she’s doing on my teeth LOL…maybe she’s interested to be a dentist? hmm……

faythe is so brave. i haven’t brought my kids to the dentist yet. was thinking of doing sometime next month but with so many things going on .. haha maybe postpone to jan. my checkup is due too. 😛

  8. jazz, can email me where your dentist is. i’m thinking of bringing YY to the dentist too but i’ve not seen my current dentist with kids so maybe better to go to one who has experience with kids.
