Catch Bug

Boys are ever so adventurous and notorious compared to girls. I remember when Faythe was younger, if she sees a bug on the floor, she won’t dare to touch unless otherwise I told her to. But Vyktore is the other way round. If he spot anything that is moving, he’d go chase after it, touch it…catch it, and probably kill it too!!

Few weeks ago, I saw this lil insect (tai sui ngai – that smelly insect that always fly to the fluorescent lamp) crawling on the floor. Vyktore was sitting next to me. So I quickly call him and showed him, “boy, you see, that’s a bug”. He didn’t give it a chance, he tried to catch it with his lil fingers. He managed to do it and took it up and showed me..poor bug. Then the wings broke and it slipped from his finger. The bug tried to walk on the floor but Vyktore was still trying to catch it.

Being guilty, I quickly shove the bug one side where Vyktore couldn’t see…before he ends up killing it.

  1. My 2nd son loves to attack bugs too. Once I caught killing a cockroach by slapping it onto the wall! Eeewww.. I practically have to make sure he doesn’t see any insect. But knowing him, his cousins would call out to him when they see an insect around!

  3. Same here… CE’s not afraid of anything that’s crawling on the floor too. If I suddenly find him so quiet looking at the floor, then chances are, he’s found a bug to ‘play’ with. hehehe

  4. Ohh..Ethan likes bugs too. Like Vyktore (had a hard time remembering how to spell his name..hehe), Ethan will chase after them especially ants and killing them accidentally in the process.
