Melaka Trip

Photography Travelogue

Last, last weekend, 26th April, we had an adventure to Melaka. I’ve always wanted to go there, but Daddy refuse to take me there :(. He says Melaka is boring..hmm…probably cause he studied there for few years so he didn’t like it there. So my friends & myself, personally arranged for a day trip to Melaka, without Daddy muahahaha….It was more of a photography trip than anything else.

I asked Cheryl to come along since she’s now more free after Gerald went back. And Sue came along too. First outstation with Sue hehe…I must really salute her for the energy she poses, being preggy and can still walk up the stairs faster than me *hide my face*. And another of my office colleague and his family joined us. I only brought Vyktore & maid with me, as Faythe didn’t come home the previous night.

We left for Malacca close to 8am. We stopped at Mini Malaysia. Thought want to go in, but the charges were exhorbitant!! RM12 per person. Not forgetting, every camera RM3. Crazy right!! So we sped off from there and headed straight to Melaka Town. I love the colours in Town. All red haha…They maintain the buildings pretty well too.

We saw some beca (trishaw), everywhere and Vyktore couldn’t resist but to sat on it to take some pics (didn’t pay though :P). Then we decided to go for early lunch at Jonker Street (Jln Hang Jebat). Chicken Rice Ball. We walked across the river, it was ermm..beautiful, apart from the contaminated river :P. They actually have river cruise there, but nobody was taking at that moment. After lunch, we head back to Stadthuys & Christ Church for more shots. The sun definitely was killing us.

We took sometime off at a nearby playground when I went back to the car to take my battery & made milk for Vyktore. Then we walked further and went to Dataran Pahlawan to get some drinks, before heading up to A’ Farmosa & St Paul Church (uphill). I love the scene up there. Spectacular.

Then we went to back to Dataran Pahlawan and had tea @ Nadeje. Mille Crepe!! Finally we had it fresh and I think it taste better fresh than travel all the way to KL. It was close to late evening by then and we headed to Jonker Street to have our dinner, walk around and bought some delicious Pineapple Tart. I didn’t know it was that famous, till my office colleague keep telling me he want’s a box of pineapple tarts from Melaka haha….so I bought a box for him :P. I thought JB is famous with pineapples, not Melaka.

We had assam laksa @ Jonker Street for dinner and also some titbits along the way. The street really comes alive at night. And it’s really packed :|.

Left Melaka by 8pm and we were all sweaty and sticky…but very satisfying base on the photos taken :).
