Last week during Labour Day, I weren’t off. As a labour, I was working :P. Took up a short assignment, thanks to Sue, to do a photoshoot for a newborn. His name is Lyan Fung. Nice name :). Errm..he’s not Sue’s baby eh :P…a friend of hers haha…
So the night before, as usual, we did some survey, check out sample shots and prepare the tools for the shooting. And I convince myself, this one, gotta use 50mm f/1.8. Yes…I decided that I shall shoot with the Prime Lense, with flash ON!!
We reached his home at 8am. Very early in fact!! He’s still soundly asleep. Then he had his morning feed while we did some test shots. After that, we strip him n@ked in the room (no aircond, no fan) to make sure he don’t get a cold. He was so co-operative throughout the 2.5 hours photoshoot. He just let us to wrap & position him whichever way we want.
I must say this is quite an easy job cause model is very co-operative haha…
We finished closed to 1030am, and he woke up for his next feed. Just nice ;).
HERE are some photos taken during the photoshoot. All direct from camera. I’m tempted to change some to B&W, but just pure lazy.
Lessons learnt:
- newborn shooting is great. I enjoy it very much.
- indoor flash is OK sometimes and it gives a good quality pic instead of increasing the ISO.
- look around the house for good background to reduce post processing work.
- be ready to get wet all over. Throughout the shoot, he wee wee 3 times LOL..and poor Mommy’s bed.
